Animals have been killed for their fur and feathers, for food, for sport, and simply because they were in the way. Thousands of kinds of animals have disappeared from the earth forever. Hundreds more are on the danger list today.

About 170 kinds in the United States aloneare considered in danger. Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. They are more than just a source of food. Every animal has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying one kind of animal can create many problems. 经过四个多小时的颠簸，我们到达了杭州野生动物园。我们跟着旅游团，看到了数量繁多的野生动物：高大威武的百兽之王老虎、眯着眼睛老想睡觉的狮子、身手敏捷的豹子、阴沉老练的狼、魁梧怪异的大猩猩、憨态可掬的小狗熊，还有马、牛、马鹿等等，令人目不暇接，但我看来，最厉害的还是大象，它身材最高，跑起来虎虎生风，连地面都传出颤抖的声音。

最好玩的是和大象照相，我坐在象背上害怕极了，生怕它把我掀到地上，瞧着大象比墙还高的身姿，我哪受的了?照完像后，我猜小心翼翼的赶紧下来。
