The Value of Reading Books

People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the world.ButI don‘t think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than anything else.

Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge. They lead us down the road to success.

今天是个好日子，我要去乡下啦。已经四个多月没去过乡下了，好激动啊。

“去不去爬山？”一回到乡下，舅舅就提议。我欣喜若狂地答应了。吃完中饭，我们出发向山里走。不大一会儿，我们到了山脚下，一株株大树屹立在山上，静静地看着我们，表示欢迎。

“冲呀，向山顶出发！”我大叫道。我们三人一狗并肩跑着。“扑通！”“汪汪汪！”“我的布丁累！”突然，三个声音一齐进入耳帘。我和舅舅回头一看，“妈呀！”布丁摔了下去，妈妈飞也似的跑过去抓住它，看了看，“唉，原来只擦了一下爪子。”我和舅舅听了，大笑起来。

傍晚，我们放了一个帐篷。好不容易扎下了四个钉子，布丁就来捣乱了。它把钉子叼了出来，我正好在帐篷里休息，帐篷坏了，倒在我身上，压得我屁都打出来了。可恶的布丁，你给我站住！又让我出丑又让我痛，我要把你闷在锅里。

休息了一下，继续赶路。“啊！”我摔了一跤，“脚痛！”

第二天，我们终于爬到了山顶。现在的问题就是我们怎么下去啊？难道我要花生熊孩子滑下去吗？我怕高啊！妈呀，我下不去了。谁来救救我啊？

后来，妈妈找到了那个旅行队，让他们把我背着下了山。

The summer vacation had come round again. I was happy that I could forget

about school at least for a while. Lest I fool around all through this summer

vacation, I made a plan as to how to spend it. First, I thought I should go over

all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that I could have a

better understanding of them. Then I thought I should take up some forms of

exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. It

stood to reason that with such a good plan I should make the best of my vacation

time. I did, because I lived up to what I had planned.

No sooner had the summer vacation begun than I returned to my native town。

Of course I must make good use of it; otherwise I would incur the displeasure of

my parents。

In the morning I reviewed my lessons and read newspapers or magazines。 In

9月22日是中秋，是举家团圆的日子，今天我和爸爸妈妈就是去爷爷奶奶家过中秋节的。

到了爷爷奶奶家，我和爸爸妈妈、姑父姑妈，以及姐姐一起约好吃完团圆饭去登山望月，大家为了早点登山，不让乌云遮住月亮，所以我们早早地就吃完饭一起去爬紫金山了，刚上山，一阵阵冷风就直向我脖子里钻，我急忙把衣服裹了裹，这时姑父说他知道一条近道，说完就带我们从一条小路向山上走去，越向上，越细长。走到半路，我的手已经冰冷冰冷了，都有点想下山回家了，但就这样退缩一定会被大家笑话，想到这儿，我又继续沿山路向上”爬“去。

记得在我八岁那年的暑假，我和爸爸妈妈还有其他小伙伴一起，来到了爸爸同学的老家——九鼎山。到达了叔叔家后，我们打算去山顶看风景。但是，上山的公路还没有修好，所以，我们只能徒步爬上山去。我和小伙伴听说要徒步爬到山顶，就兴奋不已地跳了起来。

于是，到达叔叔家后的第二天一大早，我和小伙伴都兴奋的早早地起了床。爸爸妈妈也收拾好了行囊，准备好了食物和水。一切准备就绪，我们就兴高采烈地出发了。一开始，我和小伙伴们都争先恐后地往山上冲，我们比赛看谁先发现新鲜事物，我一马当先地跑在前面，忽然听见小树丛里传出老鼠地叫声，于是，我急急忙忙地跑过去，老鼠听到我的脚步声，立马钻进了洞里，然后我垂头丧气地走了。这时，我发现小伙伴们正追赶着几匹马，我也毫不犹豫追赶了上去。由于这里地海拔很高，跑着跑着，我们的体力渐渐不支了，这时我一不小心被一坨马粪拌倒了，全身泥土不说，脚还扭伤了，爸爸妈妈立刻冲了过来扶起我，这时的我疼痛难忍，眼看着脚踝越肿越大，妈妈焦急万分的找来了冰水给我局部冰敷，还不停的安慰我。待我们休息片刻后，爸爸妈妈就轮流背着我继续爬山。即使爸爸妈妈再累，也丝毫没有放慢脚步，特别是趴在妈妈那瘦弱的后背上，我能明显的感受到妈妈呼吸急促的声音，但她还是继续坚持不懈地背着我继续前进，这时我忍不住悄悄地流下了眼泪，心中万分后悔。

昨天早晨，我和妈妈来到了潘南小学的门口，为什么呢？因为我们要去春游了，去的地方是蒙山，由于离得比较远，所以我们要早点出发，否则玩的时间就太少了。

伴随着明媚的春光，我们出发了，一路上同学们都在交流着，在欢声笑语中我们走上了高速公路，大约过了三个小时，我们就来到了蒙山脚下。

下车后，几个好朋友聚在一起交流路上的有趣故事和自己所带的物品，过了大约15分钟，我们就进入了蒙山风景区。在那里，只见春天的足迹随处可见，柳芽长出来了，嫩绿嫩绿的，小草钻出头来，呼吸者新鲜的空气。刚开始爬山，我们就分成了好几批，第一批的同学就是老师所说的英雄，走的很快，而后面的同学就是狗熊了，走的很慢，中间的同学最好了，不快也不慢，我把他们当成普通的熊。

这时，只见一个楼梯出现在了我们的眼前，楼梯比较陡，而且还有许多级，我和与我速度相同的同学都小心翼翼地爬，生怕往后一扬，就摔了下去。走过这陡峭可怕的楼梯，我们看到了一条小河，只见小河里的水比较清澈，只有一点泥土出现在了小河内。

过了大约一个多小时，我就和六七和同学一起走了，只见前方有一个指示牌，上面写道：蒙山极顶还有六公里。我们直接懵住了，没想到走了这么长时间，还有这么多的路。我们依然在徒步前行，走着走着，我们终于到达了山顶，我们都快累瘫了。

只见有一部分同学已经到达了山顶，开始午餐了，甚至有的已经吃完饭了。我和妈妈买了一桶方便面，悠闲地吃了下去，这样可以补充一些体力。我们还去了蒙山极顶，只见蒙山的景象尽收眼底，可以用“举头红日近，回首白云低。”来形容，许许多多的山都在我的脚下，我终于爬到最顶端了。

我们在山上玩了一小会儿，就坐着公交车来到了山下。只见一会儿转弯，一会儿转弯，我们被摇晃地不成样了。在山下，我们又玩了一小会儿，就结束了蒙山之旅。

爬上的路真不好走，有的是山路;有的是台阶路;有的是只能一个人过去的山间小路;有的是路旁有野果。我们边边看路边的景色。到了一个地方，看见了一座亭子，妈妈就对我说：“累了吧?我们进去歇一会吧。”我们都在哪个亭子里歇了一会儿，我们就开始上路了。我走了一会身子直冒汗，腿直发软，没有刚开始轻松了。

我用请求的目光和妈妈说：“妈妈，我们别爬了。”妈妈说：“爬山就是让你在爬山中体会爬山的人的意志和恒心，这和学习生活中的许多事情是有关连的。如果你半途而废，那和不爬是没有区别的。你现在还小，不懂，你长大一定会从中受益的，而爬山的高低与看到的风景也不同。”听了妈妈这席话，我又鼓足勇气继续爬上山顶，我终于爬上了狮脑山。

虽然那时的我才二年级，但我通过这次爬山给我学习有了很大的帮助，他使我明白干一件事就有恒心才行。这个道理会使是我一生收益。

The farmer took the rabbit home, and cooked himself a delicious meal.

That night he thought, I neednt work so hard. All I have to do is wait for a rabbit each day by the stump.

So from then on he gave up farming, and simply sat by the stump waiting for rabbits to come and run into it.

This idiom satirizes(讽刺，挖苦) those who just wait for a stroke of luck, rather than making efforts to obtain what they need.

虽说不是第一次登黄山，但在我看来，每一天的黄山都是不同的。 Although it is not the first time to board Huangshan, in my opinion, the Huangshan every day is different.

拾着前人的脚印，迈着碎碎的步伐，顺着那沧桑的石阶，悠悠然往黄山顶峰登去。

清晨，薄雾还没散尽，赶早的鸟儿便扯开喉咙在枝头把歌唱。微风轻拂，青郁的树林微微颤动，将昨日的雨露扬扬洒在了曲折的石阶上。

石阶上坑坑洼洼，它仿佛在昭示着它们的历史，那被无数人踩过的历史。我重重地将脚踏下，想要将脚下的石块撼动丝毫。遗憾的是，我没有成功，也不可能成功。那经得住漫长岁月考验的石阶，又岂是我一个凡人所能撼动的?

除了溅起的一串水渍，别的什么都没有。我暗笑自己的幼稚，我是带着这样一种幼稚的心情来登黄山的。

早晨的黄山显得清冷，尤其是在下了一夜雨之后。我抬眼望去那在云里雾里的黄山之巅，目光一路向下搜索，却只见到寥寥无几的游人和我做着同样的动作，同样往山顶爬去。

一路上，我竟看见了一群挑山夫。一根扁担，两捆货物，便是他们的全部家当。他们穿着深绿色的广告衫，上面印着“黄山欢迎您”的字样。

我悄悄地尾随他们，迈着和他们一致的步伐，向山上登去。我俨然把自己当成了他们中间的一员。

然而，不多时我就放弃了。我累得气喘吁吁，却见他们渐行渐远的身影逐渐和远处的山持平。

“小伙子，你歇歇吧。”走在最后面的一名挑山夫对我说。他善意地冲我笑了笑，便迈着依旧稳健的步伐，向山顶走去。

他们的心情是大山一般的沉稳，就如同他们脚下的黄山那样。

他们最终在一家宾馆前停了下来。他们把货物放下，笑靥如花，仿佛他们的心情也在这一刹那突然起伏，他们仰起脖子，灌了一大口水，数着收到的为数不多的零钱，心满意足地往山下走去。

我这时才发现，日出的霞光照在了黄山里，照在了这些挑山夫黝黑的皮肤上。他们与黄山融为了一体，他们的轮廓渐渐模糊，渐渐变成了黄山的轮廓。

我突然找到了登山时应该有的心情。

我也学着他们，灌了一口水，心满意足地往山下走去……
