故宫始建于公元1406年。1420年基本完工。北京故宫以三大殿为中心外朝的中心为太和殿、中和殿、保和殿。统称三大股)占地面积72万平方米，建筑面积约15万平方米，有大小宫殿七十多座，房屋九千余座。

故宫前部宫殿，当时建筑造型要求宏伟壮丽，庭院明朗开阔，象征着封建政权至高无上，太和殿坐落在紫禁城对角线的中心，四角上各有十只吉祥瑞兽。故宫的设计者认为这样以显示皇帝的威严，震慑天下。太和殿装饰十分华丽虽然时光的印迹斑斑，但仍可以看出那里的富丽堂皇。

故宫里不仅有它独特的历史文化，还有一个悠久的传说呢!相传当初刘伯温修建故宫时，向皇帝诉说他梦见玉皇大帝说天宫宝殿有一千间，凡人间宫殿数量万不可以超过天官，还要请天上三十六金刚、七十二地煞去保护凡间皇城才能够风调雨顺、国泰民安。原来天神三十六金刚就是宫殿门口摆着的三十六口包金大缸。而七十二地煞就是故宫里的七十二条地沟。

如今北京城中的故宫，是世界上最大的皇家宫殿，中国建筑无一可以媲美。我对源远流长的中华文明肃然起敬，一种民族自豪油然而生!

在奇妙的鸟儿王国中，有各式各样的小鸟，有的长得胖乎乎的，有的长得小巧玲珑，有的鸟还会学人说话呢!其中，我最喜欢的就是美丽的孔雀。

在动物园中，孔雀就像大明星一样，观看它的人很多很多，因为每当开屏时，它那光彩夺目的尾巴就如一把五彩缤纷的扇子，令人赏心悦目，陶醉其中。

告诉你们，其实，孔雀开屏也是为了保护自己，每当它遇到敌人时又来不及逃走时，便把尾巴张开，沙沙作响，那些像眼睛一样的花纹也就动了起来，敌人看到这个“多眼怪兽”也就不敢前进了。

有一次，妈妈带着我来到动物园，我立刻跑到孔雀的笼子外，等着它开屏，由于天气太热了，我不由自主地把自己鲜艳的小手帕拿来擦汗，孔雀看到了小手帕，马上开屏了。我又惊喜又奇怪，问妈妈：“为什么孔雀看见了小手帕就开屏了?”妈妈摸了摸我的头，笑了笑，说：“它在和你的手帕比美呢!”听了她的话，我立刻把手帕挥了挥，孔雀也跳起了舞来，真有趣啊!

我喜欢孔雀，它那美丽的羽毛和优美的舞姿已经深深的印在了我的心里。
