北京故宫是我国历史上明清两代帝王和后宫佳丽嫔妃生活的皇宫，也叫“紫禁城”，现在位于北京市的市中心。

走进故宫大门，首先展现在我眼前的是一棵棵高大魁梧的花草树木。我们绕过树丛，来到了一座金碧辉煌的宫殿，听导游说，那是乾清宫，皇上住的地方。乾清宫的正前方摆着一张镀金做的精美的龙椅。龙椅上刻着许多龙，有的双龙戏珠，有的互相缠绕，真是千姿百态，惟妙惟肖。抬头一看，墙上挂着一块又大又扁的板，上面写着“正大光明”四个铿锵有力的大字。

我们出了乾清宫，往前走，来到了坤宁宫。坤宁宫是皇妃住的，这里风景优美，有许多枝繁叶茂的树木。这座宫殿有三米多高，皇后就住在靠南方向的屋子里。对面是嫔妃住的西六宫，那里的屋子很暗，也很小。

故宫里最美丽的就要数御花园啦!那里有许多奇花异木，好多被当作展品的石头，有漂亮的、奇异的等等，好多珍贵都聚集在一个大水池里，“叽叽喳喳”的小鸟们呼兄唤弟，一起来这里生活、觅食、嬉戏、散步。啊，御花园美不胜收，真是个好地方。

故宫一游使我流连忘返。我们应该为古人建造这么宏伟壮丽的宫殿感到骄傲和自豪。同时，我们也有责任保护这些文物古迹不受到破坏，让祖国五千年的灿烂文明万古流传。

进了太和殿的大门，展现在大家面前的便是一座座雄伟的宫殿。正前面那座最大的木构建筑，很是引人注目，那就是太和殿。它是皇权的象征，每当有重大活动时，皇帝都在此举行。后面的一排金碧辉煌的宫殿，分别是中和殿、保和殿。

游完了辉煌的太和殿，再向北走，我们能感觉到这儿的生活气息很浓。这里的一切起居用品在当时都是堪称一流的，后宫里的户外养心之处是御花园。它的格局，布局，古色古香，，花草树木点缀其间，亭台阁楼相依相存，是个精心雅致，赏心悦目的好地方。大家跟着我走，故宫东边这座角楼和其他三座角楼遥相呼应。它们的造型奇特，精美绝伦，与周围环境构成一幅完美的图画。
