在暑假，我和旅游团的老师和朋友们一起来到故宫参观。故宫又称为紫禁城，1406年建成，规模宏大，气势磅礴，是世界上现存最大、最完整的古代木结构建筑群。宫城周围环绕10米多高的城墙，墙外是52米宽的护城河，宫城四隅还建有四座精巧玲珑的角楼，使故宫自成防御体系，成为了名副其实的“城中之城”。走进故宫，里面人山人海，屋宇错落有致，太和殿、中和殿、坤宁宫、御花园等坐落于其中。我最喜欢的是御花园，这里绿树成荫、鸟语花香，如同人间仙境般美丽！一棵粗壮古树屹立于庭院，树皮就像一根根绳子勒成的一样，十分好看。沿着御花园，我们走出故宫，来到纪念堂，瞻仰毛主席的遗容。这里作为祖国的心脏地带，一切都显得那么庄严肃穆，我的内心感到无比激动和自豪！
