故宫是我们去年到北京游玩的第一站。

北京故宫是中国明清两代的皇家宫殿，旧称紫禁城，是世界上现存规模最大，保存最完整的木质古建筑之一。导游介绍说在建造北京故宫的过程中，没有用到一颗钉子，这真让我感到惊奇，佩服他们的智慧！

来到故宫，最先映入我眼帘的，是那雄伟的午门。进了午门，仿佛回到了古代，金碧辉煌的宫殿雄伟壮观，红墙黄顶分外好看。黄色的琉璃瓦顶上还雕着代表权贵等级的仙人走兽。我一边想象着古代皇帝的生活情景，一边往里边探寻。

跨过金水桥，我们来到太和门，太和门是故宫最大的门，以前皇帝就是在这里上早朝。过了太和门就是故宫三大殿之首的太和殿，也就是所说的金銮殿，是当年举行重大典礼的地方。再往里走就到中和殿再到保和殿。保和殿后面是乾清门，乾清门是外朝和内廷的分界，乾清门以南是外朝，处理朝政问题，以北叫内廷，是皇帝嫔妃生活的场所。从南到北分别是乾清宫，交泰殿，坤宁宫，最后到达御花园。整个故宫只有在御花园才能看到高大的树木，这里种植着各种珍贵的奇花异草，假山流水，环境悠闲舒适。最后，我们从神武门离开故宫。

在故宫，我了解了中国历史的变迁，欣赏了各种珍贵奇特的历史文物。

号称“天下第一宫殿”的故宫坐落在北京市中心一片72公顷的热土上。传说，这里有九千九百九十九间宫殿。

穿过朱红的.大门，跨过门槛，三座气势恢宏的大殿傲对碧空，在阳光的交相辉映下，显得格外挺拔。它们就是名闻遐迩的中和殿、太和殿、保和殿。

中和殿与保和殿高大雄伟、飞檐凌空，屋檐上刻着金色的细条纹，就连上面的吉祥物也熠熠生辉。这两座大殿捍卫着中间的太和殿，衬托出古代帝王的威严气息。

步行一会儿，一座大殿立刻挺立在眼前，这就是太和殿，又称金銮殿。它雕梁画栋、气势非凡。殿前有两头铜狮，左边是头雄狮，脚踩着一个彩球，神态威严，目光炯炯;右边是头雌狮，脚踩着一头幼狮，神态安详，两眼凝视远方。这对青铜雕塑是中国最大的狮像，他们好像守护着太和殿。殿下又一块很大的空地，上面灰砖斑驳，那是以前官员早朝的地方。

穿过金水桥，几根擎天柱矗立在我的眼前。柱子高约6米，金光闪闪，每根柱子上雕刻着一条张牙舞爪、形象逼真的蟠龙，龙口前有一颗光彩夺目的夜明珠。大殿的中央是镀金宝座，后面衬托着屏风，它就是历代皇帝的专座。宝座两旁的香炉虽不再青烟升腾，芳香四溢，但似乎能感到烟香袅袅地弥漫了整个大殿。抬头仰望，四个遒劲有力的大字映入眼帘：正大光明。据说，这是清朝首位皇帝康熙登基后，希望国家的前途光明正大而即兴挥毫写下的。看着这富丽堂皇的宫殿，我仿佛听到了康熙皇帝早朝的声音。那声音，好像还久久地在巍峨的太和殿里回响……

渐进渐深，来到御花园，我看见了无数颗参天古树。它们虽然饱经了无数个峥嵘岁月的洗礼，干枯的树皮上写满了沧桑，却仍然枝繁叶茂，把整个御花园点缀得犹如仙境一般。

故宫之旅接近了尾声。迎着落日的余辉，我望着那参差起伏的古老宫殿，它们好像镀上一层金边。我的内心无比澎湃，随后打开了遐思的宝盒……

如果说北京是世界东方一条崛起的巨龙，那么故宫就是龙口吐出的一颗璀璨的明珠。

北京故宫是世界上规模最大、保存最完好的古代皇宫建筑群,是中国古代建筑最高水平的体现。

故宫占地七十二万平方米,周围有十米高的城墙环绕,还有宽五十二米的护城河。故宫有大小院落九十多座,房屋九百八十间。故宫大致分为南北两个部分,南半部为前朝,北半部则为后寝。故宫共有四道门,分别是午门、神武门、东华门和西华门,而故宫的正门就是午门。

进入午门,我们首先看到的就是内金水河,它自西向东蜿蜒流过太和门广场。内金水河的作用不仅是故宫中排水的主要通道,也是建筑灭火的主要水源。它的上边还有五座汉白玉石桥,这就是内金水桥了。

穿过内金水桥往前走就来到了太和门,每逢皇帝出宫,都要在太和门换车,而且皇帝大婚的时候,皇后也要从太和门进入皇宫。

过了太和门,我们就进入了太和殿广场,它面积有三万多平方米。太和殿是故宫中最高大的建筑,面积有二千三百七十七平方米,通高三十五点五米。这里还有中和殿和保和殿,中和殿是皇帝在赶赴太和殿之前稍作休息,接受官员朝贺的地方;保和殿是皇帝更衣之处,年底时在此宴请文武百官。

过了前三殿,就来到了后寝区的正门——乾清门。在后寝区中共有十五宫。“乾清”二字意思是天下清和,各地平安。乾清宫的后边就是交泰殿,取自《易经》中的天地交泰,象征着帝后生活和谐。在殿中央放有二十五颗宝玺,上方高悬着康熙皇帝御书、乾隆临摹的“无为”匾额。

故宫建筑气势雄伟、豪华壮丽,里头还保存了大量珍贵文物,是历史和艺术的重要资料库,是中国古文化的颗璀璨明珠。故宫已被联合国教科文组织列人《世界遗产名录》。
