I have got a lot of interesting scientific knowledge from the books of National Geographic Reading Expeditions, some of which are about life, physics. I really can’t help losing myself in the colorful pictures and clear words in the books. After reading the books, I have been considering a question: What if we lived without science? Great changes have taken place in the world with the help of science. In the past, life was nasty, brutish and short. It is hard to imagine how our forefathers could do without so many conveniences that modern science brings about. Back then, only a small group of people enjoyed the very few comforts. But the majority of people didn’t even have sufficient food, let along their privilege to be educated. Anyway, it is science that changes the world and makes people’s life better and better, although it also leads to some bad aspects at the same time.

From the discovery of the gravity to the first step on the moon, we human beings have experienced a long process of developing science. And now, this process is still continuing much faster. New organisms are already being engineered, and new genetically modified crops promise benefits from higher yields and less use of harmful chemicals and so on. A lot of examples are showing this point. In the future, changes are likely to be even much greater as science reaches out to shape life itself. Maybe one day, the possibility that life existed on Mars billions of years ago will be potentially one of the greatest discoveries of our time. It is the force of the competition, we human beings’ inquiring mind and initiative that bring about the non-stopped development of science. Therefore, it is difficult and impossible to prevent science from changing the world and our life as well.

At present, we are in two minds about science. On the one hand, we are enjoying the sweet life as a result of the evelopment of science, and expect it to continue. And we are showing our interests into some scientific expeditions, such as the astronomy, the alien civilization, etc. On the other hand, we are distrustful of it, due to the lack of understanding of science. I have recently read Battle Hymn of Tiger Mother published by The Penguin Press in 2011. This autobiography was written by the Chinese American woman Amy Chua, a tenured professor in Yale Law School. She causes a sensation because her strict but unique parenting which brings excellent performance of her two daughters.

This autobiography tells the course of Amy Chua how she raised the two daughters in Chinese parenting way. It is divided into three parts. At the first part, it gives some introductions of the two daughters, the family. And in the second and third parts, the writer tells more details in the process of raising her two different daughters and the difficulties she was confronted in the process, and most importantly the success the daughters achieved in music which brought Amy Chua pride as well as the whole family.

To some extent, I don’t like Amy’s parenting in some aspects. In my opinion, she deprived the nature of children and pushed too much pressure on their children, especially on Lulu who was under the shadow of her excellent elder daughter—Sophia. While I was reading the third part in the rebellion part, I couldn’t control my own emotion, I felt what Lulu felt and even hated against her selfish and autocratic mother. The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation.It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. 在寒假里，我读了《三国演义》这本书，很有趣。

刘备、关羽和张飞是好朋友，结为生死兄弟。按年纪，刘备为大哥，关羽为二哥，张飞为三弟。在一次战争中三兄弟救了董卓，但是董卓很看不起三兄弟就投奔了朱隽。在一次视察中，朝廷派来的督邮索取贿赂被张飞打了一顿。几年后汉灵帝病死了，不久董卓废掉皇帝刘辩，立刘协为献帝，并自封为相国。董卓欺主弄权，残暴凶狠，其中王允大人想杀董卓，一位将军站了起来说，我愿意借王大人的七宝刀前去杀死董卓。他就是曹操。董卓听说曹操因为马不好而迟到，立刻交吕布去选一匹西凉好马该曹操。董卓身体肥胖，坐久了有些困倦，

我看了这个故事，感受很深。我们不要像董卓那样轻易相信一个人。对于别人说的话要多加思考，俗话说：三思而后行，以免受骗上当。

今天，我读了《白雪公主》这个故事。白雪公主因为她的美丽，善良，得到了大家的关怀。而狠心的后母，因为嫉妒白雪公主的美丽想杀死她。她让一个猎人把白雪公主带到森林里杀了。到了森林，猎人没舍得杀白雪公主就把她放跑了。之后，白雪公主碰到了七个小矮人。她的后妈千方百计的来杀她，白雪公主最后死了。

在她死后，正在放进棺材里时，来了一位白马王子，把白雪公主救了。从此，她们过上了幸福的生活!而狠心的后妈得到了报应。

读了这个故事，我知道了：害人之心不可有，防人之心不可无。

前几日又将《基督山伯爵》细读了一遍，再一次喜欢上了这个法国式的故事，一个关于复仇的故事。仍记得初读是在高中课堂闲隙之时抽空浏览，喜欢这本书的最大原因是它迎合了我们中国人堆快意恩仇的独有武侠情结。大部分人同我一样喜欢武侠，喜欢中国式的江湖，喜爱”爱憎分明“的酣畅淋漓。

年轻有为的唐代斯，因为四个不一样的原因遭到了四个人的联手陷害，在暗无天日的牢房呆了十几年。一个睿智的神甫帮他分析了局面，由此一颗复仇的火种也在他的心底开始燃烧……

初读时，一些细微的场景让我久久难忘。法老号扬帆归来时的喜悦让我感动地流泪，他的老板最终解决了债务，而唐代斯也结束了报恩，开始那条真正的复仇之路;当马克西米连和他的妹妹一家邀请唐代斯做客，那种久违的家庭气氛和他们对唐代斯的爱也都让我无法忘怀;神甫的博学多才和高瞻远署让我叹服。

一连串完美的复仇计划在一步一步完成后，和海蒂乘船远走的唐代斯留下了：等待和期望。再读时才从纯粹的情节中脱离，开始慢慢体会这几个字的意义。随着人生阅历的不断丰富和完善，我对唐代斯的经历也有着不一样的理解。坚毅、忍耐、执著、冷静、从容，所有的这些都是唐代斯在等待中的品质，而我也相信，这些正是我们普通人所欠缺的，我们只是在放弃期望的时候，轻轻拥抱了一下阿Q先生，说上一句，这就是生活!再踏上一段新的征程。我仍抱着期望在等待中过活，等待着不断挖掘基督山的财宝，那或许不是让我富足的金银珠宝却是能够让我释然的心灵召唤，唐代斯，时间向前，而你亦没有让它淹没!

有人也将这本书译为《基督山恩仇记》，这个名字并不能真正的完全反映唐代斯的整个传奇人生。相反，我认为《基督山伯爵》更能体现出其中的韵味!他在最黑暗的时候并未被仇恨完全蒙蔽了内心，而是”我爱爱我的人，我恨恨我的人“，他并没有违背作为一个伯爵应当有的气度——”报恩报的彻底，报仇报的彻底“。

在我读了《三国演义》后，我就从中懂得了许多道理。比如做人地道理，如何对待明友的道理等等等。

还有关羽，张飞。刘备他们的故事，他们的三结义让我看到了友情，桃园三结义是在一个桃园里关、张、刘三人在此结拜成为兄弟，他们结拜有一个原因，1、是为了平定乱世，2、他们有一样的志向。3、是为了报效国家。

他们的相遇也是偶然的，他们只是两个相遇说出了自己的志向和愿望发现他们都是要平定天下。

在他们结拜后去和黄巾军一战。张飞和关羽那可是战无不胜啊，刚上阵张飞就刹掉了邓茂，接着程远又上去来只见关羽手起刀落将他砍成两片。黄巾军首领见了，纷纷掉头鼠窜。

接着刘备等人去解救青州，通过几番斗智斗勇终于胜了，接着刘、关、张三人便带着卢植的军中效命，卢植派刘备等人到颖川的打探战况。谁知还没到时，已将判军打败。败军为首的张梁、张宝带着手下正在逃跑，却被曹操上前拦住斩杀无数。

这篇文章给我的启示是友情是无限的我们一定要好好珍惜这些时光，对自己的朋友好一些，干事情心先动动头脑，不蛮干。

我明白了我们一定要像刘备一样有智慧，我们一定要多读书，我还明白了友情是用金钱买不来的。
