1、信头(heading)

信头是指发信人的姓名(单位名称)、地址和日期，一般写在信纸的右上角。一般公函或商业信函的信纸上都印有单位或公司的名称、地址、电话号码等，因此就只需在信头下面的右边写上写信日期就可以了。

英文地址的写法与中文完全不同，地址的名称按从小到大的顺序：第一行写门牌号码和街名;第二行写县、市、省、州、邮编、国名;然后再写日期。标点符号一般在每一行的末尾都不用，但在每一行的之间，该用的还要用，例如在写日期的时候。

其中日期的写法，如1997年7月30日，英文为：july 30，1997(最为普遍);july 30th，1997;30th july，1997等。1997不可写成97。

2、信内地址(inside address)

其中在一般的社交信中，信内收信人的地址通常省略，但是在公务信函中不能。将收信人的姓名、地址等写在信头日期下方的左角上，要求与对信头的要求一样，不必再写日期。例如：

3、称呼(salutation)

是写信人对收信人的称呼用语。位置在信内地址下方一、二行的地方，从该行的顶格写起，在称呼后面一般用逗号(英国式)，也可以用冒号(美国式)。

(1)写给亲人、亲戚和关系密切的朋友时，用dear或my dear再加上表示亲属关系的称呼或直称其名(这里指名字，不是姓氏)。例如：my dear father，dear tom等。

(2)写给公务上的信函用dear madam，dear sir或gentleman(gentlemen)。注意：dear纯属公务上往来的客气形式。gentlemen总是以复数形式出现，前不加dear，是dear sir的复数形式。

(3)写给收信人的信，也可用头衔、职位、职称、学位等再加姓氏或姓氏和名字。例如：dear prof. tim scales, dear dr.john smith。

4、正文(body of the letter)

位置在下面称呼语隔一行，是信的核心部分。因此要求正文层次分明、简单易懂。和中文信不同的是，正文中一般不用hello!(你好!)

正文有缩进式和齐头式两种。每段书信第一行的第一个字母稍微向右缩进些，通常以五个字母为宜，每段第二行从左面顶格写起，这就是缩进式。

但美国人写信各段落往往不用缩进式，用齐头式，即每一行都从左面顶格写起。商务信件大都采用齐头式的写法。

5、结束语(complimentary close)

在正文下面的一、二行处，从信纸的中间偏右处开始，第一个词开头要大写，句末用逗号。不同的对象，结束语的写法也不同。

(1)写给家人、亲戚，用your loving grandfather，lovingly yours，lovingly等;

(2)写给熟人、朋友，用yours cordially，yours affectionately等;

(3)写业务信函用truely yours(yours truely)，faithfully yours(yours faithfully)等;

(4)对上级、长辈用yours obediently(obediently yours)，yours respectfully(respectfully yours)等。

6、签名(signature)

低于结束语一至二行，从信纸中间偏右的地方开始，在结束语的正下方，在签完名字的下面还要有用打字机打出的名字，以便识别。职务、职称可打在名字的下面。当然，写给亲朋好友的信，就不必再打了。

7、附言(postscript)

如果一封信写完了，突然又想起遗漏的事情，这时用p.s.表示，再写上遗漏的话即可，要长话短说。通常在信末签名下面几行的左方，应于正文齐头。

注意：在正式的信函中，应避免使用附言。

8、附件(enclosure)

如果信件里面有附件，可在信纸的左下角，注上encl：或enc：，例如：encl：2 photos(内附两张照片)。如果福建附件不止一项，应写成encl：或encs。

我们有时可看到在称呼与正文之间有re：或subject：(事由)字样。一般在信纸的中间，也可与“称呼”对齐。还应在底下加横线，以引起读信人的注意，使收信人便于在读信之前就可了解信中的主要内容。事由一般在公务信函中使用，也可以省略。

有很多的年轻人会问我，说现在的社会不良现象都是凭父亲，有关系，看相貌等等。我就问他，凭父亲，起码还得有父亲，我八岁的时候，我父亲就去世了，我母亲一个人带大我们哥俩。我们在内蒙古偏远的地方长大，在北京没有一个亲戚，不也走到了今天吗?

我知道社会上有很多不良的现象，我告诉你，信那些该信的东西，因为它能改变你。因为如果你要信那些你没法不愤怒的事情，它只能害了你。

没有一代的青春是容易的。青春如果没有了奋斗，没有了挣扎，没有了希望，没有了绝望，还叫什么青春?

说青春美好的人，全部是在回忆的时候下的定义。正在经历的人，没有几个人说过青春美好，除非你喊空洞的口号。

但是青春最美好的就是充满着所有的希望、绝望。有太阳的时候，你都觉得天昏地暗，因为心情不好;有的时候下着大雨，你只想穿着背心到大雨中狂奔，因为你很开心，这就是青春。到了中年不可以了，到了老年也许又可以了。

青春可以犯错，因为有无数的时间可以改，而我已经不可以了，40多岁的人，一定要减少犯错误，因为你改的机会不多了。

我在内蒙古的老家做演讲，坐在最后一排的同学问我，白老师，你坐在主席台，我在最后一排，我什么时候才能到你那个位置呢?我说，老弟，角度不同，在我的位置上，你在第一排，你有无数条路可以走到这儿来，我再也找不到一条路可以走到你那儿去了。是我该羡慕你，还是你该羡慕我呢?怎么样过你此时此刻的青春?

史铁生是我非常尊敬的一位老大哥，2010年的12月31日，离他的60岁还有几个小时，他走了。他曾经有这样一段话，当时四肢健全的时候，可以随地奔跑的时候，抱怨周围的环境如何的糟糕，突然瘫痪了，坐在了轮椅上。坐在轮椅上的时候，抱怨我怎么坐在了轮椅上，不能行动了，怀念当初可以行走、可以奔跑的日子，他才知道那个时候多么的阳光灿烂。

又过了几年，坐不踏实了，长褥疮，各种各样的问题开始出现，突然开始怀念前两年可以安稳地坐在轮椅上的时光，那么的不痛苦，那么的风清日朗。又过了几年，尿毒症，开始怀念当初有褥疮，但是依然可以坐在轮椅上的时光。又过一些年，要透析了，不断的透析，一天清醒的时间越来越少，还是怀念刚尿毒症的那会儿时光。

所以史铁生说生命中永远有一个“更”。为什么不去珍惜呢?大学中为了未来忧虑，失去了美好的四年，你值吗?如果我们要为未来忧虑的话，你拥有一辈子的机会，难道你会为了你的未来，一辈子地忧虑吗?

爱你现在的时光。过去的已经过去了，较什么劲呢?未来的还没有来，你焦虑什么?你知道什么叫做真正的恐惧吗?真正的恐惧不是血肉横飞的画面，真正的恐惧是调动你的想象力，把你自己吓着了。

最高明的恐怖片导演，都高明于此，调动你自己的想象力吓唬你自己，人生对未来的恐惧就是如此，都是你自己的想象把自己吓着了。可是有科学家调查，你所忧虑的事情，只有10%最后变成了现实。这个数据给了我很大的启示，你付出了100%的忧虑，其中有90%是瞎耽误工夫，明天的事交给明天。

而且生命中有一个很奇妙的逻辑，如果你真的过好了每一天，明天还不错。如果你安安稳稳地做好大一学生应该做的事情，你的大四应该不错，可是你大一就开始做大四的事情，我想告诉你，你的大五会很糟糕。

青春该怎么过，校园的时光怎么过?不计后果地过。

但是请注意，我说的不计后果，没有让你违法，在法律、各种限制条件内，别那么功利地计后果，为了后果而过。如果我们的大学生涯非常功利的话，你反而得不到你想要的结果。

有人说我站着说话不腰痛，他们不知道我们那个时候有属于我们自己的悲惨。我从功利的角度告诉你，你越在乎过程，你越拥有一个完满的过程，你的结局越有可能不错。

The twentieth century has brought with it many advances. With those advances, human lives have changed dramatically. In some ways life is worse, but mostly it is better. Changes in food preparation methods, for example, have improved our lives greatly.

The convenience of preparing food today is amazing. Even stoves have gotten too slow for us. Microwave cooking is much easier. We can press a few buttons and a meal is completely cooked in just a short time. People used to spend hours preparing an oven-cooked meal, and now they can use that time for other, better things. Plus, there are all kinds of portable, prepackaged foods we can buy. Heat them in the office microwave, and lunch at work is quick and easy.

Food preparation today allows for more variety. With refrigerators and freezers, we can preserve a lot of different foods in our homes. Since technology makes cooking so much faster, people are willing to make several dishes for even a small meal. Parents are more likely to let children be picky, now that they can easily heat them up some prepackaged macaroni and cheese on the side. Needless to say, adults living in the same house may have very different eating habits as well. If they don’t want to cook a lot of different dishes, it’s common now to eat out at restaurants several times a week.

Healthful eating is also easier than ever now. When people cook, they use new fat substitutes and cooking sprays to cut fat and calories. This reduces the risk of heart disease and high cholesterol. Additionally, we can buy fruits and vegetable fresh, frozen or canned. They are easy to prepare, so many of us eat more of those nutritious items daily. A hundred years ago, you couldn’t imagine the process of taking some frozen fruit and ice from the freezer, adding some low-fat yogurt from a plastic cup and some juice from a can in the refrigerator, and whipping up a low-fat smoothie in the blender!

Our lifestyle is fast, but people still like good food. What new food preparation technology has given us is more choices. Today, we can prepare food that is more convenient, healthier, and of greater variety than ever before in history.
