早上，妈妈早早起床准备包粽子，爸爸在门口插上艾草，据说艾草是可以辟邪的。我并不会包粽子，对包粽子充满了好奇，走进厨房看妈妈是怎样包粽子的。只见，妈妈把洗好的糯米装进一个盆子里，再把准备好的肉、蛋黄、花生放进碗里。一切准备就绪，包粽子开始了。妈妈娴熟地抽出两张粽叶，把两张粽叶重叠在一起，折成一个角，先放糯米，再放馅儿，再放一层糯米填满，用绳子绕着粽叶的角缠绕，最后把绳子系紧。一个粽子就这样包好了。

慢慢地桌上就摆满了粽子。妈妈把粽子放进锅里煮熟，再拿出来凉一会儿。妈妈大声高喊：“快出来，吃粽子。”我向厨房冲去，拿起一个还冒着热气的粽子，撕开粽叶，一阵香气扑鼻而来。我大咬一口又黏又糯，好吃极了!弟弟问：“妈妈，端午节为什么要吃粽子?”我抢着说：“吃粽子是为了纪念爱国诗人屈原。”妈妈微笑着点点头，弟弟也似懂非懂的。
