Last summer holiday, I took a trip to Yunnan. It is in the southern part of

our country .It is really a very beautiful place grand mountains, clean rivers

and kind people. Trees and flowers are seen everywhere. Every year there are

lots and lots of visitors.

Maybe you have heard about Shi Lin (stone forests). There are all kinds of

strange stones. Some of the small stones look like graceful girls; and the big

stones look like handsome men. Other stones look like cats, peafowls,

double-edged swords, mice, elephants and so on. Of all the stones, the stone

like a beautiful girl in a legend is the most famous .Its name is A Shima.

I also went to Li Jiang. The roads in that city are just like the Eight

Diagrams. Any road in the city goes to the center of Li Jiang. A river runs

through the whole city. If you go along the river, youll never get lost. There

are many ethnic minority people in Yunnan. They are very cordial. And they all

like singing and dancing. We danced with them around the campfire that night. I

really had a good time.

I like the elephants and fruits there best. An elephant is even taller than

me! I even mounted the elephant, though I was very afraid at first. But the

elephant seemed very friendly. I took some photos with it. The fruits there are

very fresh and delicious. They are very good for our health.

The trip to Yunnan impressed me greatly. I will never forget it.

I am a Chinese. Ive always been making dreams from time to time. Those dreams made by each average Chinese like me are certainly Chinese dreams. When I was a child in 1970s, poverty kept hovering over my family, just as it did with other average families in the countryside. Sometimes hunger bit me so severely that I regarded dried sweet potato slices as delicious snack, the sharp crack of chewing which are still echoing in my dream. In the early years of 1980s, as the reform and opening-up policy was implemented, the children dream came true. And then, another dream became clearer and clearer in my mind. I must try my best to escape out of my impoverished and backward hometown. I worked harder at my study than most of my classmates, and, after luckily succeeding in the national college entrance examination, my dream became reality again: after graduation, I became a citizen working in a city. As the first college graduate out of a remote village, my success set an example for my folks. They came to realize that schooling is a good way to change one’s fate. In the following years, there were less drop-outs and more college graduates in my village, of which I am proud even today.

Afterwards, I got accustomed to the life of citizens and I began to dream the same things as other peers: a comfortable home, my own car and a spacious apartment. Based on my toil, more than ten years passed, all of these dreams have been fulfilled. Of course, new dreams will occur to me again and again as time rolls on. Whatever, I believe most of my dreams will come true sooner or later only if my motherland keep advancing with current pace.

Every year, June 7th and 8th are the big days for high school students,

because they will take part in the college entrance exam, which is considered

the exam to change their lives. The media give full attention to these students

and many moving incidents have been reported every years. Such as the students

who went to the wrong classroom and in the last few minutes, the policeman

helped them reach the right destination. Parents are also the targets that catch

the medias attention. Many parents are waiting outside while their children are

doing the test. When the students meet trouble during their ways to the

classrooms, people will do what they can do to help them without asking for

return. It is so nice for these people who offer help in this great days. They

are the loveliest people in the world.

This summer holiday, I had travelled to Hong Kong with many other students. We went to Hong Kong by plane. Hong Kong is very small, but there are many people living there.

In Hong Kong, all of the buildings are very tall. There are lots of shops there and you can go shopping until about 11:00 at night. In Hong Kong, things are very expensive, so we only bought a few souvenirs.

We went to lots of places, such as the Avenue of Stars and Ocean Park. I like Ocean Park best. The park is very big. Sitting in the cable car, you can see two hills, lots of different flowers and the sea. Some students were afraid of sitting in the cable car!

We stayed in the Shu Ren College. There are many big trees around it. We had meals in the restaurants, but I didnt like the food.

Hong Kong is very beautiful. I like Hong Kong and I hope to go there again some day.

I have a sister. Her name is Alice . She is one year old. She has short hair. She has a fat face. It looks like a big red apple. She has big eyes and a small mouth. She has only one tooth, but she can eat cookies. Her arms and legs are fat, too. But she can crawl very fast on the floor.

When we judge a person, we are likely to think about whether he or she is

keeping promises, the person who always keeps his promises is popular, people

around him are willing to make friends with him. So keeping promises is very

important, we should never break our promises, or we will be abandoned by

others. First, we should never late for meeting or date. When we make a deal

with others to meet at some places, we shall be there in time or earlier, it is

rude to be late and let others wait for a long time. I hate my friends late for

meeting, though they have reasons, they could have been here in advance. Second,

Firstly, we should be brave to talk with others in English. By doing this,

we can improve ore talking and listening skill.

Secondly, we should try to listen to all kinds of English programmes as

much as possible. In this way, we can gradually improve our pronunciation.

Thirdly, we should often read English books. When we come across a new

word. We should guess its meaning through the contest first. Then look it up in

the dictionary to have a check. I thin,, it is a good way of reading.

Fourthly, we should practice our writing skills. Whenever we have any idea,

we should get the pen and write it down at once. It is very important to avoid

Table Manners

The main difference between Chinese and western eating habits is that unlike the West, where everyone has their own plate of food, in China the dishes are placed on the table and everybody shares. If you are being treated by a Chinese host, be prepared for a ton of food. Chinese are very proud of their culture of cuisine and will do their best to show their hospitality.

And sometimes the Chinese host use their chopsticks to put food in your bowl or plate. This is a sign of politeness. Make sure the spout of the teapot is not facing anyone. It is impolite to set the teapot down where the spout is facing towards somebody. The spout should always be directed to where nobody is sitting, usually just outward from the table.

Dont tap on your bowl with your chopsticks.Beggars tap on their bowls, so this is not polite.Also, when the food is coming too slow in a restarant, people will tap their bowls. If you are in someones home,it is like insulting the cook.

There is only one word which can describe my childhood. The word is“carefree”that so many todays kids do not understand， although they have delicious food， beautiful clothes and pretty toys.

My parents never forced me to do anything. I recited a lot of poems and fine articles， but not for performing before their friends and our relatives， just because I enjoyed rhythms and words. So I never considered them a burden。 Later， when I was in the primary school， the homework was very few and easy to do， and I was never asked to be the top students.

Nor did my parents stop me from doing anything. After I finished my homework， I could stay outside for a whole afternoon to do whatever I liked. I used to go swimming in the river in summer， skating on the ice in winter. Sometimes I played basketball or football with my little friends. I could read any book， and my parents never examine it before my reading.

Sometimes I think my childhood was boring and not unforgettable， but I was really carefree and happy then. What is more important than to give a child a happy childhood?

只有一个词可以描述我的童年。这个词是“无忧无虑”,很多今天的孩子不懂,尽管他们有美味的食物,漂亮的衣服和漂亮的玩具。

我父母从不强迫我做任何事。我背诵很多诗,好文章,但不执行他们的朋友和亲戚之前,仅仅因为我喜欢节奏和单词。所以我从不认为他们是负担。后来,当我还在小学,作业很少,很容易做,而且我从未要求最优秀的学生。

我的父母也没有阻止我做任何事。我完成了我的作业后,我可以呆在外面整整一个下午做任何我喜欢的。我过去在河里去游泳在夏天,在冬天在冰上滑冰。有时我和我的朋友打篮球或足球。我可以读任何书,和我的父母从来没有检查过我的阅读。

有时我觉得我的童年是无聊和不难忘,但我当时真的无忧无虑的快乐。什么是更重要的不是给孩子一个快乐的童年吗?

Someone asks me what on earth happiness means? I cant give you the exact

definition of it, but Im sure if you love and help others, youll get it.

Ill never forget an old lady. She lives in a small house alone. Its said

that her husband and her son died in a traffic accident. How bitter her life

is!But the old lady often helps others with a smile. Whenever it snows, she is

always the first to clean the paths. She looks after several children living

nearby. I am one of them. I often remember the stories she told us and her kind

smile. Perhaps she is unlucky, but I think she is a happy person. Her life is

full of laughter and love.

But Im sad to see some people getting their happiness in bad ways.They

speak loudly in cinemas and meeting rooms; they destroy trees to enjoy

themselves and they laugh at others shortcomings. Perhaps they feel happy at

that time, but they will never get true happiness because they have lost their

personality.

Now I know what happiness is. It means kindness, love and unselfishness.

Above all, only bringing happiness to others can make you yourself get it.

今天，是一个重大、欢喜、每一位人民期盼已久的日子。那么，今天到底是什么日子呢?大家都知道吧!没错，今天就是国庆节!说到国庆节，每一位同学心里只有一个念头，那就是——放假七天喽!但是，这七天不都用来玩，自然要做一些有意义的事情了!在此之前，我先问一下，这七天，你们大家过得快乐吗?你们一定会异口同声地说：“快乐得很呢!”你们能不能说出来和大家一起分享分享一下呢?没什么好害羞的，诶~让我来给你们壮壮胆，反正我的快乐都快涌出来了，不妨直接说出来。听清楚了啊!

今天是国庆节，张灯结彩、举国欢庆的日子。这个七天假期的第一天，是我记得最最最清楚的一天，因为这一天我们很开心、快乐，并且这一天比巧克力还巧。

巧在哪呢?巧在我的亲人们——爷爷奶奶、外公外婆、姑姑姑父、表哥表妹……等人全都到齐了，都来到了家里。这还不算巧，更巧的还在下面呢!10月1日国庆节，还是我表妹的生日呢!(哈哈，今天有大蛋糕吃了，嘻嘻。)怎么样?是不是比巧克力还巧啊?快乐的是我还请来了两位“结拜”了的要好的同学(王佩瑜和方俊男)一起来玩。还和他们去公园玩了水鬼抓人、西游记、三个字、躲猫猫……等游戏。

下午，我们在玩人体标靶时，哥哥(谭承信)不小心把鞋子丢进了临近一条小河的小树林里，我们三兄弟(我、王、方)一起去为“失主”寻找“失物”，好不容易才找到进入小树林的的“秘密通道”，我们便开始“冒险”寻找“宝物”，过了好一阵子，眼尖的方俊男发现了“失主”的一“只”宝物，还给了失主。

可是这个时候太阳都快落山了，时间也不晚了，两位同学只好依依不舍地“各回各家，各找各妈”去了。

到了晚上七八点，蛋糕终于“闪亮登场”了!不过，这块大大的水果蛋糕不知是命苦还是人缘“太好”一会儿就被狼吞虎咽的我们给消灭得“灰飞烟灭”了，我们几个也大饱了口福。

到了差不多九点，表哥要回家了，妈妈要我给他送几个包子，可表哥他死活不肯要，直到我哭着求他，他才要了这几个包子的。

今天的国庆节，我过得特别的开心!特别的快乐!我记得也特别的清楚!今天的国庆节，令我特别的难忘!
