我的家乡在湖北省十堰市，这里有亚洲第一大人工淡水湖——丹江口水库，水库里水质纯净、清冽可口。老师告诉我们说，我们十堰市有优良的水资源，而北京干旱缺水，因此，中央决定把丹江的水引到北京去，让首都人民都吃上我们这清甜可口的水，这就是著名的南水北调工程。

去年暑假的一天，我和爸爸妈妈一起来到汉江河边玩耍，看到的是不远处有许多人在河边洗衣服，还有人把没喝完的饮料倒入水中，水边还有扔的废塑料瓶子，而且工厂里的污水也流到河里去了……看到这里，我觉得还有许多的人没有环保意识，作为“南水北调”工程所在地，如果不能很好地保护环境，不仅让北京人喝不到干净的水，而且影响了十堰市的经济发展和自身的生活质量。因此，我们应该行动起来，建设家园，保护环境。其实保护环境也很简单，可以从保护学校的环境做起，例如：遵守有关禁止乱扔各种废弃物的规定，把废弃物扔到指定的地点或容器中，避免使用一次性的饮料杯、饭盒、塑料袋，用纸盒等代替，爱护花草树木，少赠送贺年卡，保持校园清洁等。

经过这几年的环境整治，我们“南水北调”源头的人民环保意识增强了，水质也变好了，现在的汉江，清澈、碧绿、恬静，令人神往。走在汉江河边，看不到有人洗衣服了，看不到漂浮的废弃物了，映入眼帘的是一江清澈见底的江水，让人忍不住就要捧起来喝几口，跟去年比起来，可以说是天翻地覆啊，这么大的变化，离不开南水北调建设者们的辛勤劳动，也离不开我们这些为了环境保护做贡献的广大市民。

保护环境，人人有责，让我们从身边的小事做起，我相信，只要大家共同努力，我们的家乡就会变的更加美丽，北京人就可以喝到我们家乡香甜的水。

一天，学校放学了，同学们都快乐地跑出教室，快乐的嬉笑声在我的耳边久久地回荡。

其次要加强环保设施的实用性，使拨的款每一分都花在刀刃上，使其能有效快捷成本廉价的净化污水，使水资源循环利用；而且也要加强节水设施，如灌溉农田要多运用节约水资源的滴灌。并且我国广大的领土面积是不能缺少水资源的保护者，要多招募一些真正致力于保护水资源的社会成员，如果可以，最好为他们设置专门的职位和制度，以此用优秀的待遇吸引人才。随后还要大力培养新一代的节水创新精神，使他们逐渐成为节水的栋梁，同时做好节水模范形象，鼓舞大众的节水行为。

而后，我们不应把节水的目光只放在现在，不应只放在“节约水”上，更应该长远开来，保护水生态，保护祖国的大好河山；保护天然水库——森林，每一棵树木都能发挥无比巨大的作用；保护多种多样的天然环境气候，每一种气候都会使我们的家园更加充满元气与生命；同时保护广大的湿地也是刻不容缓的，中国的湿地面积减少的速度虽然在近些年已有所减缓，但仍不能放松对自然的保护。为了日益污染和减少的水资源。我们要停止对自然无休止的索取和开发。
