Dear Mr. Wang,

Thank you for a rapid response to our invitation. Enclosed you will find an outline of events to take place during International Week here at the University of Montana. I will also list a number of possible speaking engagements so that you can choose those things in which you are most interested. As far as topics are concerned, the topics for classroom visits are generally determined by the professor, but most professors are very flexible. We have approximately thirty-five faculty members that teach courses in Asian Studies, ranging from language and culture to history and economics.

12 am - International Festival begins with a speech by the university president and an introduction of visiting dignitaries

1-5 pm - Opportunity to visit festival, interact with student performers, taste foods

6 pm - Dinner with Director of Mansfield Center Phil West, Ambassador Mark Johnson, and staff of Mansfield Center

last term we had a sports meeting . It has last for a day. I think it’s funny, just like a game.

First is running. And the other part is jumping. The meeting is very exciting. I watched the running match, but I didn’t watch the jumping match. What a pity!

Ha-ha, I ran with my classmate then. Because I want to cheer them on. But always they ran faster than me long. So I had to try my best to catch them up. It’s a hard work, I think.

The match is very fierce. The players are powerful. Who is the best? We guess. All of us hope the winner is our class. Finally, the best will get congratulations. And others also will get comfort and support.

Oh, I am forget something. During the winter vacation, I was idle at home and went to grandmas home to play.

您好！

我是六年级一名学生。在六年的学习、生活中，学校、老师给了我们无微不至的关怀和教育，使我们从一个幼稚的小孩成长为一名成熟的小学生。即将毕业，离开朝夕相处的同学和老师，离开学校了，想到分别的时刻，我真舍不得。现在，我们的学校在您的策划下发展得很好，有现代化的教学设备、宽敞明亮的教室、美丽如画的校园风景、绿毯如茵的操场，成为了设施较完备的学校，老师也是经过精挑细选才进来的，所以，大家在这里学习得也很轻松、愉快。但学校工作还有做得不给力的地方，我在这儿还要给学校提几项建议：

要写好英语作文，具体要做到以下几点：

注重英文阅读习惯的养成与坚持

坚持英语阅读的习惯，不仅可以保持对英语语感的敏感度，更重要的是它有助于培养英式思维，从而避免汉式思维句子的出现。

(1)平时多读，积累句型：读的越多，语感欲强烈，写作的时候自然而然就可以自如的运用灵活多变的句式来完整一篇小作文了，另外建议多积累名言警句、谚语等以作为高级句型运用与作文中。

(2)选出一些代表性范文精读：选出不同题材的优秀作文范文，读的时候注意文章的开头、结尾、层次结构以及所用句型等。要有目的、用学习的心态来精读优秀范文，并做到学以致用。

注重平时的写作训练

英语写作训练可以以日记、话题或仿写的形式来进行。通过坚持一个学期的英语日记，保持英语写作的习惯。所以一定要坚持每周两到三次的写作训练，正所谓习惯成自然就是这个道理。

五步写出一篇好作文

什么才是好作文呢?很多同学误认为只要像学校平时测验那样子“句子结构正确，无单词拼写错误”就应该得满分。而小升初对作文的考核并非如此简单，同学们应该走出对英语写作认识上的误区。那么除了以上两个方面外，我们怎样才能写出一篇优秀作文而在小升初中获取高分呢?下面就来看我们的“高分作文五步法”。

(1)认真审题，确定时态人称，同时关注题材格式

时态：故事性文章一般用过去时，其中表达感受时可用现在时。说明性或议论性文章一般用现在时，举例时可用过去时。根据题目要求也会出现时态的交错使用，如过去和现在的对比等。如果句中出现了时间状语，时态则要遵循时间状语。

如ago，last…过去时;next，in…将来时等

人称：注意在句子中人称的统一。

例如：

Thanks to the teachers， we have improved our English.

其中we和our就是人称的统一。

格式：注意书信格式的开头和结尾。

(2)找全信息点，紧扣主题，突出重点

切忌只看表格中或所列1、2、3中的信息点。一定把题读全，找齐信息点，建议用铅笔标出，写完后再涂掉。根据题目，可适当增加合理内容。特别注意文章要有开头和结尾。

(3)成文时表述正确，文字流畅

切忌与汉语提示的一一对应，使用所学表达方法将语义表达出来即可。首先考虑句子结构(如主谓宾，主系表等)。同时注意短语的正确使用和单词的拼写，最好使用课本上学过的短语和句式。

(4)文章结构清晰，重点句型画龙点睛，可使文章在得分上提高一个档次，考虑文章的篇章结构，使用适当的连接短语，使文章结构紧凑。

常用连接词：

1.表文章结构顺序：

First of all， Firstly/First，Secondly/Second…

And then， Finally， In the end，At last

2.表并列补充关系的：

What is more， Besides，Moreover，

3.表转折对比关系的：

However， On the contrary， but

On one hand… On the otherhand…Some…， while others…

4.表因果关系的：

Because， As、So， Therefore， As a result

5.表换一种方式表达：

In other words

6.表进行举例说明：

For example，句子;For instance，句子;such as + n/doing

7.表陈述事实：In fact

8.表达自己观点：

As far as I know， In myopinion

9.表总结：

In short， In a word.

文中正确使用两三个好的句型，如：感叹句、宾语从句、动名词做主语等。

宾语从句举例：

I believe Tianjin will be morebeautiful and prosperous.

感叹句举例：

How I want to study in thebest middle school in Guangzhou!

动名词做主语举例：

Reading books and swimming aremy hobbies.

常用状语从句句型：

1)时间：

when， not…until(直到…才…)， as soon as(一…就…)

2)目的：

so that + clause; (为了)

3)结果：

so…that…(如此…以至于…)， too…to do(太……以至于……)

4)条件：

if， unless(除非)， as long as(只要)

5)比较：

as…as…(与…一样)， not so…as…， than

(5)认真检查，检查信息点是否全面，时态、人称是否一致，句子结构是否清晰，短语使用、单词拼写是否准确等。

检查后，将草稿誊写在纸上，请注意按结构分段，书写清晰。

下面列举一些在检查中可发现的错误：

改正：comfortably(副词修饰动词)

改正：much information (不可数名词由much修饰)

3.There willhave a football game tomorrow.

改正：There will be a football game tomorrow.(Therebe句型的将来时结构)

改正：I think riding a bike can keep us healthy.(动名词作主语)

我们的摩天轮已停下，两千一百九十一个日日夜夜，换取的是初中的更广阔的学习天地，为何仍留恋格子的春天?

哎，再在校园走一趟吧?

Everybody knows that our life is very short, so the great educators always

advocate us to do what we like and pursue for our goals bravely. Most people

have many ideas in their minds and they dare not to take action, because

thinking of the effort they make but what if they accomplish nothing, so they

decide to give up and just live the boring life. It reminds me of the famous

words, some people just die at age of 20 but only to be buried at the age of 70.

As we are young and full of energy, it is a good time for us to fight for our

future, never be afraid of failure, because it is the mother of success. We can

achieve our goals if we have patience, just to cherish time and keep

fighting.

Im glad youll come to Beijing to learn Chinese. Chinese is very useful, and many foreigners are learning it now. Its difficult for you because its quite different from English. You have to remember as many Chinese words as possible. Its also important to do some reading and writing. You can watch TV and listen to the radio to practise your listening. Do your best to talk with people in Chinese. You can learn Chinese not only from books but also from people around you. If you have any questions, please ask me. Im sure youll learn Chinese well.

“天下没有不散的宴席”，有聚就有散，有离别才会有相逢的一天，这是天经地义无法改变的事情。每年凤凰花开时，这就是所有小学毕业生飞向另一个世界的旅程，展开了青少年的生活。

六年的小学生活，回想起来真是酸甜苦辣，但这些也将随着我们的毕业而写下一个完整的句号。留下一个个永远令人怀念而且独一无二的美好回忆！

六年了，陪我走过2000多个日子的可爱的同学，不辞辛劳谆谆教诲的老师，和校园里的一草一木，跟你们说再见，是多么的不舍！

I was a shy girl and I never dared to make performance in the public, but

everything will have the exception. Last week, our English teacher gave us a

job. All students needed to make performance in group. I was chosen to be the

protagonist in my team. At first, I told them that I couldn’t make it, but they

believed that I was the suitable person. So I practised hard and tried to get

over my fear. It was my stage. I stood in front of my classmates. With my

teammates, I finished my job. I felt so cool and dared to face so many

people.

缘分，让我们一起度过了这美好的六年生活。可是，光阴似箭，日月如梭，六年的小学生活转眼间就结束了，我们将踏上新的旅程，成为一个初中学生。在这分别之即，我既兴奋又有太多的不舍……

We had a small debate yesterday in politics class, which made everybody laugh. Wang Yongbin in our class is funny. He said with a crooked neck, "please state your opinion in opposition." It looks very serious! The opposite students grabbed the handle of our classmates, so Liu Yang, our mathematics class, said immediately: "the student said that dreams and dreams are opposite to reality." The teacher and his classmates laughed.

There was a counter student, Zhang Yijun, who said that he helped us in the opposite direction. Fortunately, the teacher reminded him in time to correct it. Yu Miao, a counter student, said, "dont you think its hard to learn before the end of the semester?" So I interposed, "because we know that we have passed." The students applauded immediately. When I was toddler, my parents were leaning on the side; when my life was rugged. 假期生活Life In Vacation

It was a sun day of the summer holiday. The weather was hot. My little brother and I decided to go to the resrvoir to swim by bike. It took us half an hour when we got there, many people were swimming. Then we dived into the water……

About an hour later, suddenly somebody called: “help! help!” We were surprised to see a boy struggling in the deep water. As quickly as possible. We swam towards him and pulled him to the shore. He lost his consciousness. We sent him to the nearest hospital at once luckily, he was saved.

In the end, we were worn out, but felt happy. That day was meaningful. We did a good deed!

这是暑假阳光灿烂的一天，非常热，我决定和弟弟骑车去水库游泳。我们花了半个多小时才到达，很多人在游泳，于是我们也跳入水中。

二、一个有广阔胸襟的人。

一个人的胸襟有多宽广，取决于他看过多少的书，走过多少的路，见过多少的人，所谓“读万卷书，行万里路，阅千种人”即是如此。

我很骄傲你从小就养成了爱读书的习惯，我很欣慰你从小就能在书中找到乐趣。读书要读杂一点，就像吃饭一样，吃杂一点营养才均衡。你喜欢看自然、历史、科学、幻想类的书，文学类的书汲取有点不足。书有一时的书和一世的书之分，你现在看的魔幻、漫画类的书部分就是一时的书，在这个阶段你会特别喜欢，但过了这个阶段你就会觉得它们过于苍白和羸弱。我也曾经尝试着去看那些青春幻想小说，但实在看不进去，相反像曹文轩的《草房子》和沈石溪的《斑羚飞渡》，甚至汤素兰的“笨狼系列”这样的儿童文学我都看得津津有味，看来好书的读者是不分年龄的。一世的书适合不同的年龄，不同的心境，譬如我喜欢的《红楼梦》，有才子佳人，有诗词歌赋，有亭台楼阁，有玉食珍馐……不同年龄，不同阅历的人去看，都会找到感兴趣的东西。像你看《三国演义》，小时候把连环画都翻破了，现在看文字版的也一样津津有味。读书能提高人生的高度，看一本书、两本书没有什么感觉，看多了就会发现：世界，真的不一样了!

不知你是否还记得那篇《带着女儿走天涯》?它当初让我多么地兴奋和激动，于是等你身体比较好了之后我就开始尽其所能地带你去各地旅游。早几年，你更多的是享受旅途上和朋友嬉戏的快乐，现在的你，已经开始领略各地的文化了。昨天我们又去了都江堰，在离堆公园干妈指着一尊雕塑问：“张松是张飞的儿子吗?”你说：“不是，是刘璋的部下。”然后，每到一处景点，你会认真察看景点介绍，诵读各种对联，虽然有些繁体字你不认识，但还是一样饶有兴致。

“阅千种人”会丰富你的社会经验，增强交往能力和合作能力。我们把你从家乡小县城送到嘉祥这所大都市的名校，就是为了让你在这样一个优秀的群体里，和来自各地的优秀学子一起，互相碰撞，互相包容，互相学习，从而让优秀成为一种习惯，从而为今后很好地适应社会奠定基础。

三、一个自律的人。

那个关于吃糖的实验我们都知道，我们也知道那个控制住自己吃糖欲望的孩子最后得到了更多的糖，长大后也取得了最大的成就。前十二年你太小，基本处于他律状态，从现在开始，从现在你是一个准初中生开始，我将把管理的接力棒交还给你，让他律变成自律。当然我们不会撒手不管，我们会在旁边默默地陪伴你，会在适宜的时候助你一臂之力。要记住，自律不是束缚，而是用行动创造一种井然的秩序来为我们的学习、生活争取更大的自由，自律的人是能够自省、自警、慎独的人，只有自律的人才会在今后面临的若干场竞争中处于不败之地，成为那个笑到最后的人。
