记得十岁那年的暑假，我和妈妈、表哥一起去游泳。刚开始在浅水区，但觉得不够过瘾，毕竟浅水区人多，很难放开游，便壮着胆子向深水区游去。在深水游果然不错，但是游了一会儿后就觉得累了，便想像在浅水区那样站住休息一会儿，但却忘了这是深水区，猛然一沉使我觉得很不舒服，要糟糕！我一下子激发了人体求生本能，下意识展开了终极自杀式——狗刨。这种方式不仅耗费体力，而且移动极慢，简直像蜗牛爬一样，照这样下去，我迟早会被淹死，我只能扯开嗓子喊救命，但还没喊出来就呛了一口水，只能自己游过去了！但这样还是会被淹死的。这可不行，李白曾说过：“天生我材必有用”。我死了，国家就少一个纳税人啊！想到这儿，我便更卖力的向岸边游去。眼看就要到岸边了，却没了力气。即将成功时放弃，实在太可惜了！不，溺水——不是我今天的结局！我使出平生最大的力气，以最标准的蛙泳姿势到了岸边，没有欣喜，只有大声喘气的声音……

直至今天，读过《走一步，再走一步》后，我才知道，如果那天，哪怕有人碰我一下，我就会放弃，不死也三天不用喝水了，正如文中那位极具智慧的父亲，倘若他亲自上去救那孩子的话，那孩子就会丧失挑战困难的勇气，失去中流砥柱的力量！

只能靠自己，这便是真理。
