然而，桑提亚哥的运气并不好，因为他在制服马林鱼后，一条灰鲸鲨就闻到了马林鱼的味道，便游到了桑提亚哥的渔船旁，准备吃掉马林鱼，于是，受伤的桑提亚哥便又拿起了鱼叉朝灰鲸鲨刺去，当灰鲸鲨被刺的一瞬间，已经咬下了一块鱼尾上的肉，灰鲸鲨被打败了，但由于马林鱼的尾巴上的肉被咬掉了，所以血就流得更加多了，这便让更多鲨鱼闻到马林鱼的气味，过来吃马林鱼。之后，真的又有两条鲨鱼来了，分别是窄头双髻鲨、铲鲨，但都被桑提亚哥制服了，可在回港的路上，桑提亚哥又碰见了一大群鲨鱼，这时的桑提亚哥已是筋疲力竭，但桑提亚哥还强行地撑着自己与鲨鱼搏斗，虽然他使出了全力，但最后大马林鱼还是被吃掉了，老人回港时大马林鱼只剩下一副骨架了。

由此我明白了人生的道路曲折、漫长、充满了挑战，但是只要我们坚持不懈努力过，不管结果是失败还是成功，都是值得人们尊敬的。

I was not able to get high marks when I was in primary school. Teachers didn’t like me because I was not a good student. Mother considered me as a bad kid. They hurt me by thinking I am a retarded child. But I am no fool. Almost all of my paintings were showed in public. Many famous artists had praised me for my paintings. The furniture in my house is all made of wooden.
