东台的西溪古镇是神话传说“天仙配”的发祥地，属于长江三角洲沿江经济开发带。境内一马平川，气候温和湿润。是中国优秀旅游城市，全国生态示范市，江苏省文明城市，江苏省最安全地区之一，我的家乡虽然很小，它没有上海的繁华，也没有北京的壮丽。可是却有其他城市没有的家的温馨，我爱我的家乡——东台。

素有“天下一绝”的东台发绣，在全球是数一数二的，手工精制，巧夺天工。溱东丝毯远销海外，誉满全球；“宫迁秘制”的鱼汤面，绵润甜爽的陈皮酒，香脆可口的富安酥儿饼，亦臭亦香的臭豆腐干。。。。。。

东台为古扬州辖境，海陵县地。公元前117年（西汉元狩六年）建西溪镇。公元937年(南唐升元元年），海陵监驻“泰州东北之东台场”，东台之名从此见于史籍。东台也得此地利一跃为淮南盐区的食盐集散地。宋时，东台也称“东亭”，因煎盐亭灶林立，多达亿所，故名。 东台有悠久的历史，我从来都不知道我的家乡有这么多的历史文化和好多各种文化。

东台海上风电场是世界上单体最大的近海风电场，于2010年下半年在东台海域开工建设。东台海岸线长85公里，连陆滩涂、潮间带、暗沙区域开发空间广阔，可建成400万千瓦特大型风电场。预计到2016年，东台风电总规模达100万千瓦、年发电量20亿千瓦时以上，年减排二氧化碳226万吨。其中，三期海上风电项目在东台东沙岛东侧150平方公里海域，是世界单体最大的近海风电场，拟选用3。6兆瓦海上风机84台。

我喜欢家乡的桃树，我觉得桃树几乎成了家乡的一个标志，让人没有办法忘记。

春天，正是播种的季节，大家都在辛勤的播种。这棵桃树争先恐后的抽出新的枝条，长出嫩绿的小叶牙。狭长的枝条上开满了粉红的桃花，一簇簇。像一片片彩霞，在云雾中欢笑着。

五月左右，圆圆的小桃儿挂满了树梢，沉甸甸的，我爱家乡的桃树。嫩绿的小叶变成了翠绿的大叶了。桃子有的像玛瑙，有的像翡翠，诱人极了。

还没成熟的桃子，一大半绿一小半红。咬一口，有点硬，又酸又涩但酸中带甜，涩的很不是滋味。刚熟的桃子半红半黄，吃一口，“呀”，甜津津的。完全熟了的桃子更是没法说，只要咬一口，用嘴一吸，嘴里便灌满了汁水，甜的像喝了蜜糖一样。当你吸完了汁水，肯定会大吃一惊，怎么只剩果皮和桃核呢？原来是熟透桃子的果肉大部分变成了汁水。
