赤壁之战时，诸葛亮特意来到东吴帮周瑜，可心胸狭窄的周瑜，却一心想杀了诸葛亮。一天，周瑜故意为难诸葛亮，命他在十天内造十万支箭，还不给他足够的材料。没想到诸葛亮说只要三天即可，还当面立下了军令状。周瑜乐了，便摆下酒席款待诸葛亮，散后，周瑜还故意让自己的下属鲁肃去探听诸葛亮的动静。没想到诸葛亮早有准备，算好了接下来会发生的事，还特意请鲁肃帮忙。鲁肃一向老实，便没有告诉周瑜关于诸葛亮这边的事。

三天期限快到了，四更天时，诸葛亮带着鲁肃坐着二十只私自拨出的小船，逆流游向了曹军水寨。这天刚好是个少有的雾天，诸葛亮的船早早抵达了曹寨，让所有的船呈一字摆开，并要所有士兵擂鼓呐喊。多疑的曹操听了，看雾这么大，不敢轻易出击，便让弓箭手万箭齐发，这些箭便都射到了船上的草人上。

天快亮了，诸葛亮吩咐士兵齐谢曹操，些时曹操才知上当了，想去追，但诸葛亮的船顺风顺水，早走远了。

有一回，赵王得了一件无价之宝，叫和氏璧。秦王知道了，写了一封信，说愿意拿十五座城换这块璧。

赵王接到了信很着急，找王贺大臣们没有别的办法，只好派蔺相如带着和氏璧到秦国去。

蔺相如到了秦国，见了秦王，献上和氏璧。秦王只是连连夸赞，绝口不提拿城换璧的意思，于是，蔺相如接着和氏璧有小毛病的借口要回了和氏璧，又理直气壮地靠着柱子站定，说要自己与和氏璧一字撞碎在柱子上，还要求秦王举行一个隆重的典礼，秦王答应了，蔺相如一回到宾馆，让手下人换了装，抄小路回到了赵国。赵王封他为上大夫。

过了几年，秦王要请赵王到渑池相见，正在赵王前后两难的时候，蔺相如提议应该去，并让廉颇做好了抵御秦兵的准备，在渑池会上，秦王要赵王为他鼓瑟，赵王不好推辞，鼓了一下，秦王让人记录了下来，蔺相如强逼秦王为赵王击缶，然后又叫人记录了下来。赵王又封他为上卿，比廉颇职位高。

廉颇不服气，说，他攻无不克，战无不胜，蔺相如靠一张嘴爬到了他的头上。他得给蔺相如下不了台。蔺相如知道了，就请病假不上朝，有一天，蔺相如见廉颇过来了，连忙往回赶，蔺相如的手下看着不顺眼，于是蔺相如为他们解释，为了国家的利益，廉颇明白了，连忙身背荆条登门向蔺相如负荆请罪。

清晨，还没有起床，就听到窗外一阵阵“淅沥沥，淅沥沥”的雨声。

走出家门，便被眼前这美丽的雨景陶醉了。天空中若隐若现的雨丝宛如少女细细的发丝，是那样细、那样密，形成了一幅宽大柔软的雨帘。那雨左右摇晃着，一会儿垂直的从天上直飘下来，一会儿又斜着与地面形成了七十度的角。

一天周瑜叫诸葛亮商议军事说：“我们马上就要和曹军交战了，现在军中缺箭，请先生赶造十万支箭，请先生不要推辞。”诸葛亮说：“这箭什么时候用。”周瑜问：“十天能否造成？”诸葛亮说：“我只需三天即可造成。”诸葛亮立下了军令状就走了。

诸葛亮对鲁肃说：“你借给我二十条船，每条船上要三十名军士，船用青布幔子遮起来，还要一千多个草靶子，摆在穿的两边，我自有妙用，但不能叫都督知道。”

鲁肃私自调动了二十条快船，照诸葛亮说的布置好了，等诸葛亮调度，到了第三天四更的时候带着鲁肃去取箭了，这时候江上起了大雾，船已经靠近了曹军水寨，诸葛亮叫把船头朝西，船尾朝东，一字摆开，叫军士一边擂鼓一边呐喊，曹操叫弓弩手向他们放箭，天渐渐亮了，这时候两边都插满了箭，诸葛亮叫军士们齐声高喊：“谢曹丞相的箭。”接着叫二十条船驶回南岸。

周瑜见了说：“诸葛亮神机妙算，我真比不上他。”
