My Mother isa kind and gentle woman。 She is always very gentle。 She takes good care of her children and keeps them all at school。 I have one brother and two sistets。 So she gets four children in all。 She gives us every fort。 We all love her and she loves us also。

My mother has too much to do in bringing us up。 As our family is too poor to keep a servant， my mother has always to do very much work。 She gets up very early and sleeps very late every day。 She works hard， yet without plaining。

She is also a thrifty， and industrious woman。 She saves every cent that she can and keeps everything in order。 As she has been busy eversince she was young， she looks older than she really is。 Her face is wrinkled， her hair bees silver white， but she works as hard as ever。

Often she says to us， work while you work， play while you play。 If you do not work， you will bee lazy and of no use to society。 What piece of good advice this is! We must worth it well and always keep it in our mind。

A Letter to My Dear Father

Dear father,

This Sunday is Father’s Day. I am very happy. I’m writing a letter for you now. But my classmates are playing games.

Today is rainy. Please take care. Do you know? My study is good. There fore, don’t worry about my study. I have a good news to tell you. I have won the second award at the piano competition. Are you happy ?

On the weekend, I usually go hiking on the Song Shan Lake. We are very happy. But after we walk for a long time, we feel a little tired. When the sun goes down, we return home. I like going hiking. What about you?

亲爱的爸爸：

您好！

时间如流水，一转眼间，我已经十二岁了，回想往事，七岁时的我真是傻到了极端。

“嘟——”电话铃响了，爸爸放下手中的饭碗，拿起电话，只听电话里传来爷爷的声音：“喂，儿子啊，快来接你妈去第一人民医院去！！！”说完便挂了电话，“啊？！”爸爸一时没反应过来，等反应过来，立刻放下电话，饭也顾不上吃，急匆匆地走到隔壁伯伯家把奶奶接到车上，然后开着车子飞一般开向第一人民医院。

一经检查，原来是胆结石。“啊？！”爸爸又大叫一声。“必须马上开刀。”旁边的一位医生说话了。爸爸丝毫不敢怠慢，急忙付了钱，然后回家准备奶奶东西，准备奶奶住院开刀。第二天，奶奶便躺在一个担架上，进了手术室。三分钟过去了……五分钟过去了……爸爸担心得直跺脚，就像热锅上的蚂蚁——团团转。就在这时，爸爸的手机铃响了，语言来是有个厂家叫我爸爸运点货，可爸爸却毫不犹豫的拒绝了。我在一旁看着爸爸的一举一动，心想：这爸爸，我平时挂盐水他都不陪我，这次居然为了奶奶拒绝了一次赚钱的机会，真偏心，哼！我想着想着，心里的火越来越大。“兹——”手术室的门开了，医生说：“手术还算顺利，但还需要住院疗养并观察一段时间。”爸爸急忙付了钱。今后就不用说了，爸爸更是对奶奶形影不离了，甚至一天从我起床到我睡觉几乎看不到爸爸一眼，整天呆在医院里。更可气的是有好吃的一点儿也不给我留，全部给了奶奶，我气得七窍生烟，真想揍他一顿。后来爸爸才慢慢的给我解释清楚，原来奶奶那属于特殊情况，要我生这么一场大病，爸爸还不得急得像兔子上蹿下跳啊！

想起那时的我真是太傻太傻。

今天我怀着十分好奇的心情读了，《让孩子记住三十六件事》中的第五件事《第一次去孤儿院》，读着读着我不禁思绪万千，想起了自己的父亲。

我的爸爸是本村个体木器厂的会计，他不善言谈，说话做事都是实实在在。爸爸的手是非常粗糙的，手指粗而短，繁重的工作和家庭的重担磨练和造就了这双手，可就是这双手打起算盘来既快又准确。小时候看爸爸打算盘是我的一大乐趣。不久前，我发现爸爸的手提兜里多了一台计算器，可他还是常用他的那个已经发亮的旧算盘。我试探着说：“你放着计算器不用，还是让我给你保管着吧!”爸爸淡然一笑：“那玩意儿会使你变懒。学习还是老实一点好。”

爸爸有时会领到支新钢笔，他却把新钢笔给我或者姐姐，用他的话说：“还是你们用新的吧，好好念书，我已用惯了老‘英雄’了。”每当我把成绩保单送到他手里，他总是先看上我一眼，然后仔细看过报告单，最后拔出那支老“英雄”，认真地签字。那一刻，看着他那只紧握钢笔的粗糙的手，我总禁不住情思翻滚。

人类的感情莫过于父子。有人为自己有一个有钱的爸爸而高兴，有人为自己有一个身居要职的爸爸而骄傲。我的爸爸似乎什么都没有，我却以为有他而感到无比自豪。

这就是我读了《第一次进孤儿院》，使我懂得了知足、学会了感恩。
