‘已经没有一点干净的水源了，对不起叔叔我们打扰到您了，但是请您给我们一点水好吗？我可以拿家里的东西给你换……水车上的叔叔听来很羞愧，赶快把干净的水发了出去，所有的孩子都提着一桶水回家。

According to a recent article on Newsweek concerning children’s’ education,

there is an increasing number of parents worrying their kids to an extreme

extent, depriving them of independence and freedom by keeping them around

parents all the time.

Some people applaud this phenomenon, suggesting that kids’ safety is the

most important. Thus, they’d better not enter the hazardous society without

supervision unless they become adults. From my point of view, some of their

opinion is correct but keeping children away from independence is a completely

erroneous decision. The reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, “locking kids” may hinder their healthy growth, both

mentally and physically. The kids who are locked may have heavy reliance on

their parents, as their comprehensive skills such as communication skills or

cooperative spirit being prevented from developing.

Secondly, what these parents fail to see is the fact that the crime rate

and accidents aren’t on a rapid rise. It is the abuse of mass media that make

crimes and violence more scary. The parents, who love their kids so much, are

completely forced to live under the illusion that our society is full of riots

or threats of accidents. Thus, kids can be allowed to have more freedom such as

walking to school by himself, for instance.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that

kids should be given more freedom by parents’ effort. At the same time, parents

should take many factors into consideration such as the time restriction for

children and the evaluation to kids’ maturity and capability. Only then can they

enjoy a safe and meaningful childhood.

接下来我想知道在我们生活的小区会不会有野外的植物生长呢?我决定去考察一番。刚好小区有一处地方没有绿化，生长着各种野草，但是和野外植物有所不同，主要是草类，长的很茂盛，也没有人工浇水，突然我看到一棵柽柳，紫色的花絮，细细的枝条!这说明红柳是可以生长在小区环境下的，也可以生存在校园里了!

通过观察，我认为把一些野生植物，如红柳种到校园里是可行的。

达州九月上旬这几天连下暴雨，从未停过，所以州河的河水猛涨。洪水涌出了河道，把许多人的家给淹了，冲走了许多东西；洪水把许多厂子淹了；还把银行里的钱打湿了很多。据说这是我们达城百年不遇的洪灾。听大人们说，这次突如其来的洪水不但使我们达州损失了将近十几个亿，还使通往外界的许多条公路造成了严重的塌方。转眼间的功夫，令我们达城变成了与外界断绝联系的孤岛。

说实话，我对这些不太感兴趣，我照常上学、吃饭，因为洪水不可能淹到我家来。可是这该死的洪水把电力局的供电设施给淹了，又把自来水公司的水厂给淹了，给全达城造成了停电又停水的现象。怎么办呢？俗话说得好：人七天不吃饭可以，可是人要是三天不喝水，就会虚渴而死的。可是我家的水缸里一滴水也没有，因为我家从来不用水缸接水。还好外婆家里还有满满一缸的水，要不然我就成了双死人了，因为我是被饿死和渴死的啦！

没有水的日子可是很不好过的哟！以前洗完苹果的水直接倒掉，现在洗完苹果的水先用来抹屋，然后用来拖地，最后用来冲厕所。听说华夏那一段在发水，我和表妹每天都去领水。领水的人很多，我们要等很久才领得到一小桶水，倒进水缸里，又下来提水。现在我真希望自来水公司和电力公司的叔叔阿姨们快点把进了水的机器修好，这样我们就不必再过那种每天都要去提水的日子了。

现在的人一直在乱用水资源，比如说淘米水可以用洗拖把、洗菜、冲厕所等，还有洗完衣服的洗衣水也可以用来洗拖把、冲厕所、浇花、擦门、擦窗户及家具。上大小便不宜开大水冲洗，就可以利用使用过的“脏水”。洗澡的时候如果关掉水龙头擦肥皂的话，洗一次澡大约可以节约60千克的水。

如果到了夏天，给室内外洒水降温的话，可以不用清水，用洗过衣服的洗衣水。给自行车、小轿车清洁时，可以不用清水清洗，而用湿抹布去擦更有效果，太脏的地方，也可以用洗衣水冲洗。浇花可以用洗衣水、淘米水浇。还有洗不干净的毛巾时拿个盆子在里面洗，装满立即关掉水龙头。水果可以用盆子装着开水清洗。

如果大家都没有节水的习惯，如果真到了水贵如油的地步，那么地球上的最后一滴水就是人们悔恨的眼泪。在这里，我呼吁大家节约用水、爱惜水、保护水。从我做起，从身边的一点一滴做起，从我做起。

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. First,when we finish washing the clothes,we can use the water to clean the floor.Second,if we see the dripping tap,we ought to fix the tap as soon as possible.Third,we can have a shower instead of a bath because having a bath can waste a lot of water.
