小树。我痛，我憎，这一切的一切都是战争所造成的，在八国联军侵华战争中，真是让人揪心。

1900年的6月，俄，英，美，中，日，德，法，意，奥八个国家拼凑了2000多人的队伍，来到中国四处挑衅，不断开枪射击杀义和团群众和清军，激起中国军民的愤慨，终于发动了战争。

八国联军纵火放炮，大肆抢劫，最可恨的是：他们以杀人为乐，把一群逃难的老百姓逼进一条死胡同里，这些百姓们家里都有老有少，他们怎么忍心抛下一切，老百姓们的脸上尽是悲伤，有的人甚至苦苦哀求，希望拥有一条生路，只见外国军兵们 的满脸笑意，一副漫不经心的样子，一个军官拿起了一枝枪在其中一个老百姓的眼前晃来晃去，眼睛瞅成了一条缝，而这个人却瞪大眼睛，身体向后倾斜，两手紧紧扒住墙壁，尽管这样，敌人还是毫不留情的用枪击毙了人们，人们一个又一个的倒下了，此时血花四溅，人们的哀号声振破天谷，而更令人振奋的是：敌人那像疯了似的奸笑。当我目睹了这一切的时候，我的心揪在了一起，对敌人恨之入骨，于是我想用我的树脚跟来报复敌人。

一天，我看到了一个法国士兵高兴地蹦跳着，于是我伸出了树脚，将他一个跟头栽倒在地，这时，我暗自欢喜，可是敌人爬起后拿起屠刀毫不留情地向我刺来，使我满身鲜血，此后，我再也不能生长。

我——一棵小树代表全人类呼吁和平，人们啊，醒醒吧!战争是残忍的，敌人不可能放过任何生命，这只能使世界充满仇恨，和平天使快来吧，我们永远拥护您!

Some people regard hard-working as an essential quality to success while others believe being clever would lead to success. From my point of view, I think perseverance and hard-working are indispensable for those who want to make an achieveme

Firstly, perseverance let people step closely towards success. Most people want to make a big difference to prove their value. People who set their goal and keep moving would make their dream come true. However, there are some people who set their goal but they stop at the difficulty would fail in the end. I think the difference between success and failure is perseverance. If we have perseverance, even if we are not clever, we will make a great difference, but if we not, we are doomed to lose. As we all know, Edison is a great inventor in the world. However, before he invented the bulb, he kept trying for tens of thousands of times to find a suitable wire. power politics and hegemony pactising by major countries like the U.S.

religious and belief difference of people.

the ever growing gap between the western countries and their counterparts.

maintain peace of the world is by no means an easy task at all, it entails combined efforts from all walks of life,narrow the gap between developed nations and the poor ones politically and economically,bring international roles of organizations like the UN and WTO into full play thus stop war at the first sight.

Globalization is progressing with each passing day and we have already in the bracement of the new centry, we are and we should be confident that we can stop the evil spirit of war by jointed efforts.

As everyone knows,English is very important today.It has been used everywhere in the world.It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.

But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese…

I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different contries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can go to London,because it is the birth place of English.

I also want to use my good English to introduce our great places to the English spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.

I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well.

Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

International Day of PeaceSeptember 21st In 1981 the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 36/67 declaring an International Day of Peace. In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a new resolution 55/282 declaring 21 September of each year as the International Day of Peace.

The Assembly declared that the Day be observed as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day. First, I’ll say something about World Expo History. As we know, the very first World Expo, the Great Exhibition of 1851, took place in the Crystal Palace in London. UK. On December3, 2002, the Bureau of International Expositions (or call it BIE) announced that Shanghai will host Expo2010. the BIE had received bids from five cities to host Expo2010. Among the 5 nice cities, the BIE chose Shanghai at last! It’s really an exciting news for not only Shanghainese, but also all of Chinese people. Here are some details about it.
