Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don‘t get it! You can‘t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.‘ I choose to be in a good mood. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I‘d be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren‘t you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, ‘He‘s a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

在几百年以前，伽利略不顾世人的反对，不顾人们的鄙夷、抛石子、吐口水，站在意大利比萨斜塔上，在众目睽睽下，在人们的嘲笑讽刺声中，将一个10磅重的实心铁球和一个1磅重的空心铁球从50多米高的比萨斜塔上抛落。当两个铁球“砰砰”同时落地的那一刻，亚里土多德的学说被打破了，自由落体定律在铁定的事实面前被承认了。伽利略后来又用18年的时间来反驳“地球中心说”，虽然他遭到封建统治阶级的基督教会囚禁，血腥迫害，但他一直把自己的真理坚持到生命的终点。

为什么人类会上演一幕幕这样的悲剧?如果一条与众不同的言论或者事实出现的时候，你会是唏嘘的观众还是坚定的支持者呢?无论如何，真理终将战胜谬论，但是，坚持真理的个别人一旦意志松懈，随波逐流，那真理还会被发现吗?即使被发现，那谁敢承认呢?

大众化、遵循专家劝告，是人根深蒂固的观念，人们在成长的道路上，每一个独特的发现和变化都是微不足道的。从蹒跚学步到飞扬奔跑，从懵懂无知到理论专家，我们正在一步步地贴近社会，在一步步地实现梦想，一个个成了人海里的尘埃。其实这些都应该感谢知识的力量，感谢社会的磨砺。

成长的路上不一定一帆风顺，甚至是险象环生，困难重重。你在成长的路上不断放弃自己儿时的幼稚梦想，不断调整自己的人生规划。小时候不懂可以问老师和父母，大学时不懂可以请教教授和无所不知的网络，走上社会后可以出钱询问各类专家。就像在医院的挂号门诊，越是价钱高的越准确，越值得你相信，无可反驳。在不知不觉中，街上人人学会了洋溢着假笑，面对老鼠人人都嚎叫着喊打;工作中人人学会了点头哈腰，面对领导不敢质疑;社会问题形成了统一标准的要求和答案。

再看看我们身边的坚持。2008年，余姚市一名25岁的准妈妈王燕燕突然查出患了白血病，需要流产保命!面对无数专家的建议和亲朋的反对，这个女子却做出了违背常理的选择：把孩子生下了，做一名母亲。

看来不可思议的事情却在王燕燕的坚持下做到了，她终于生下了自己的孩子，得到了杭州人们的关注和祝福。这样的坚持一定不值得我们效仿，但一定值得我们骄傲和感动。反过来想，如果她不坚持呢?又会是怎样的结局?

坚持，在当下，是一种生活态度。生活就是这样子，或悲或喜，你都要面对，你都有值得坚持的地方，一旦你的坚持成功了，再回头看看脚下的路，那才是你本来的人生轨迹啊!伴随你一路走来的是你拥有的这份坚持的信念!

多年以后，你再看看那些和你一同跨出校门的同学。有的成了私企老板，有的成了十足的打工仔，有的还没有找准方向，有的继承父辈衣钵……但实现自己当初理想的人少之又少，有与众不同特色产业的人微乎其微!

俞洪敏在一次谈话中说道：人生是一个不断搏击的过程。人生中的每一次失败都是在生命里写了一个0，不要怕写0，你要努力去做的是在那无数个0之前成功地写上一个1，那么先前所有的0都会成为你独一无二的财富。这就是生活态度，一种面对人生跌宕起伏的生活态度，面对社会风风雨雨的生活态度。

坚持路上的痛苦算不了什么，只要你敢于为自己的真理坚持，为自己梦想打拼，敢于坚持年轻时候的既定目标，敢于成为另类，相信自己一定也会成为一个充满理想，脚踏实地，奋斗不止的强人。

坚持，就像一段歌词：

我们小区里有一个相当不错的小广场，在阳光明媚的日子里，我喜欢和朋友一起沿着这个小广场四周散散步，同时做做健身运动，想随时活动一下我几乎锈蚀住了的四肢关节

在这里，我时常留意到的是一群跳舞的老太太，每天傍晚，在夕阳的映射下，她们的红衣绿裤显得格外扎眼。伴随着录音机里音乐的节奏，这个队伍挥舞着红红绿绿的绸子和花蓝，扭动成了一条流动的彩虹，将整个广场都渲染得异彩纷呈。仔细观察，发现这一群可爱的老太太中最大的大概有七十岁了吧，在兴奋的节奏中，她们的银发熠熠生辉，刀刻般的皱纹里彷佛都跳跃着欢快的音符。

每天傍晚，这群跳舞的老太太，必是小广场的一个焦点，会围观很多观看的人，她们的欢喜雀跃感染着每一个围观的人，当然也包括我这个不喜欢活动的小女孩了

昨日，又是一个阳光明媚的天气，再次经过那一群可爱的“舞者”时，我竟然发现她们没有像往常一样欢快的扭动，而是和一群可爱的小孩子围成了一个圈子，面向中心，竟然在玩那种在我久远的记忆里只有幼儿时才玩的游戏——丢手绢......

老人们和孩子们嘻笑着追逐，象孩子一样玩得兴致盎然，渗透出红晕笑脸的汗粒，被银发连成一串串璀璨的珍珠，在微风的吹拂中翕动着，把我的心都映亮了。

我站在那里观看了许久许久，直到她们欢笑着散去，我才默默的离开。

在我的印象里，这些老人们大多都是家属和企业退休工人。工资很少，她们却生活得如此的丰盈和快乐。

对比之下，真的要感谢这群可爱的老人们，她们让我明白了一个道理，那就是对待生活就要有一种积极向上的态度。如果你消极懈怠，欲望不足，那你就只能生活在痛苦和烦恼之中，但如果你乐观的去面对一切，保持积极向上的态度，那么你的生活无疑就是开心的，快乐的!

Competition is a common phenomenon in our social life. We compete when we play games and when we try to do better than others in our study. There is constant competition for academic degrees, jobs, customers, money and so forth. In a sense, competition is one of the motive force to the development of society.

In fact, the only way our world reward people is to give laurels to the winners, not to the losers. What is more, by attempting to compete at different activities, we learn to win and lose, gain experience and know our strengths and weaknesses. Competition prepares us for the tough things in life.

To go ahead, to acquire possession, we should be competitive. To us, industriousness and ambition are positive values.

Whether in games, in study or in business alike, the aim is to win the game, the degree, the trophy, and the contract. Learning to be competitive is clearly the best preparation for life.

If I had my life to live over...I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was strained and the sofa faded.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up onasummer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television-and more while watching life.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretendingtheearth would go into a holding patter if I were not there fortheday.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical,would not show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

There would have been more I love yous ... more Im sorrys...but mostly, given another shots at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it...live it...and never give it back.

我曾经看过这样一个故事，父亲欲对一对孪生兄弟作“性格改造”，因为其中一个过分乐观，而另一个则过分悲观。一天，他买了许多色泽鲜艳的新玩具给悲观孩子，又把乐观孩子送进了一间堆满马粪的车房里。

第二天清晨，父亲看到悲观孩子正泣不成声，便问：“为什么不玩那些玩具呢?”

“玩了就会坏的。”孩子仍在哭泣。

父亲叹了口气，走进车房，却发现那乐观孩子正兴高采烈地在马粪里掏着什么。

“告诉你，爸爸。”那孩子得意洋洋地向父亲宣称，“我想马粪堆里一定还藏着一匹小马呢!”

从这个故事中，我们不难得出这样的结论：乐观者在每次危难中都能看到机会，而悲观的人在每个机会中都看到了危难。

人的信仰不同，所服务的对象自然不同。

大家一定熟悉电视连续剧《亮剑》吧!李云龙和楚云龙都爱自己的祖国，面对日本小鬼子的侵略，他们毫不畏惧，都能身先士卒，痛击日寇。小日本被赶走了，李云龙和楚云龙因为信仰和政治立场的不同，而成为战场上的一对劲敌。楚云龙忠于蒋家王朝，支持蒋介石搞独裁。而李云龙则一心为劳苦大众着想，坚持走人民民主专政之路。于是他们兵戎相见。如果不是战争，我相信李云龙和楚云龙会成为好朋友的，他们彼此欣赏对方的军事才能。

正如苏轼在诗歌《题西林壁》中的诗句：“横看成岭侧成峰，远近高低各不同”说的一样。看问题的角度不同，得出的结论自然不一样。所以在人生的长河中，我们遇事要多角度，多方位地去思考，千万不要死钻牛角尖。

Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of living in the country, while others prefer living in the city. In my opinion, I prefer the city life, though it has advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, city life is very colorful. City is the center of the surrounding area. So, it is also the most booming place having the best things. There are many great things and wonderful activities in the city, while there isn’t in the country. For example, there are KFC, wonderful shopping mall, delicious food from various places, dancing club, different kinds of activities and so on. We can also learn the culture from all the countries. Despite city life is so wonderful, it still has many disadvantages. Nowadays, with the improvement of people’s living standard, people have more cars and more people come to city, and then the city becomes more and more crowd. As a result, traffic jam emerges, which makes great inconvenience for people to go out. What’s worse, the air pollution becomes serious day by day, which is bad for people’s health.

To sum up, every coin has two sides. Living in the city also has good side and bad aspect. Whether like living in city or not depends on individual thinking. As myself, I like living in city though I know the disadvantage of living in city.

关于生活的态度，其实我也不想多说什么，只是今天下午在散文网上看到了一篇文章，觉得挺有道理的，一句话：“生活的好坏在于自己对待生活的态度”。看到这句话时，不禁让我想到了过去的自己，但想想现在，我笑了，我发自肺腑的笑了，我真的很高兴，很高兴自己变了，我学会了看重一切，也看淡一切。看重的是我人生过程中每一个精彩的瞬间，看淡的是这个过程中的跌宕起伏与是是非非。

就在两年多以前，我和那些初出茅庐的“小知识分子”一样，为了自己的梦想，不断地冲啊，冲啊，然后弄得遍体鳞伤，然后泄气，然后多愁善感的想啊想啊，最后安于现状，等待上天的安排，在别人看来其实这一切都是再平淡不过的事情，因为这就是当代小年青现状。我也是，当时我心里很痛苦，我不知道我背井离乡的工作是为了什么，我只知道上班下班，然后睡觉，我曾经做过的职业规划甚至都没有时间去瞧一瞧，心中的梦想也被一而再，再而三的摧残，因为别人都说一切要向钱看，于是我真的被改变了，我拼命的加班，拼命的抓住一切能充实自己大脑的机会，拼命的赚钱，不管自己快不快乐，愿不愿意，可突然有一天，我发现我仍然是一个人，我觉得很累，我很不高兴，我很想家，我想我的爸爸妈妈，于是我决定回家，我也照做了，放弃了高工资，放弃了他们对我的承诺，因为我的家乡有同样的机会等着我。

可毕竟我不能这样继续安于现状，我必须为了未来而努力奋斗，我没有回家住，因为我知道，在父母的怀抱里，我永远是长不大的孩子，渐渐的我学会了自力更生。我现在时间很充足，我爱上了曾经一度让我崩溃的看书习惯，我要看书，我要学习，我要积极向上，我甚至接触了日语，接触了拉丁，我要努力使自己变得更强大!突然有一天，我发现我变了，我不再那么多愁善感，我不再为了一些琐事而影响到自己的心情，我甚至能在经历了一件很坏的事之后依然能笑出来，我总是在心里对自己说“我过去行，我现在行，我未来也行，我行我行，我行行行”。

佛祖说，不幸往往源于自己，烦恼往往源于比较，痛苦往往源于不知足。心好一切都好，心美一切都美，心快乐一切都快乐，心幸福一切都幸福!当你拥有了一颗愿意发现美好、快乐和幸福的心时，你就拥有了一双从纷乱的世界中找到幸福的佛眼，你就会是一个幸福的人儿，你的幸福就能像花儿一样，生活中不缺美，缺的是发现美的眼睛。有句话说得很精辟：“山坡上开满了鲜花，但在牛羊的眼中，那只是饲料!”

还是那句话，坦然面对生活，坦然面对波折，坦然面对该发生和不该发生的一切!为了明天，加油!
