Today is Saturday, I don’t need to go to school, so I decided to take some morning exercises. Early in the morning, I went out of the house and looked around, the city was so quiet. This was the first time for me to see the cleaners work in the morning, they were easily neglected, because they worked so early and when the time for people to go to work, cleaners rested. The Laba Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. "La" is the name given to the 12th lunar month and 8 is pronounced as "ba" in Chinese, which translated is "Laba." There are several legends about the origin of this festivity and we could not tell which one is true. But what we know today is that this festival started as a sacrificial offering to ancestors. It was also a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest. Many people hoped for good luck as well for the coming year.

Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. Tomb Sweeping Day is on the April 5th every year. Its a day to show our

great respect to our deceased ancestors. On that day, we usually sweep the tomb

在我们的注视下，爷爷右手高高举起，停顿三秒又迅速放下，“比赛开始”的命令也随之发出。

我们三个立马行动。我首先抢了一叠饺子皮和一碗饺子馅放在自己眼前，左手撕下一张饺子皮，右手拿起筷子夹起一坨肉沫放在饺子皮中间，然后把饺子皮重合，捏紧，一气呵成，一个饺子成功了。

“一个良好的开头是成功的一半。”但事实却是让人失望的。惨了，由于没有沾水到饺子皮上，我的手还没有离开，饺子皮又分开了，我赶紧拿起又捏了一次，再放盘里，又散了。这下，我可着急了，再偷看表姐和表妹，她们都做好了一个，而且精致小巧、超级好看，放在盘子里，没一点散架的危险。我一急下手重了，皮都被我给捏掉了，馅也落了下来。我急得要哭了。妈妈赶紧过来帮我。妈妈说：“把饺子皮放在左手掌心，饺子馅要适当，太多了就会撑破，太少就撑不成形。然后将饺子对折成半圆形，捏紧中间。用手指将右半边饺皮先封口，再用同样的方法将左半边也封口记得一定要封牢。把饺子两端向中间弯拢，将两端饺边捏在一块捏牢，使半圆形的边微微翘起。”妈妈说完，一个美丽的元宝饺就成形了。

我赶紧学，刚才因为馅放多了，老是把饺子皮撑开了，这下我学乖了，只放适量的，按妈妈说的，我一步一步，也终于捏好了一个饺子，可怎么看都不像个元宝，就像一个面疙瘩。不管三七二十一了，反正已经落后一大截了，我必须加快速度。

不一会儿，堂姐和表妹面前的盒子已经排满了，我也不甘落后，努力的包着，时不时地偷偷看看她们的饺子数。大人们都被我们吸引过来了，不时指点我们，为我们加油打气，弟弟也过来凑热闹，把案板上的面粉拍得到处都是，把大家变成了“小白脸。”他的两只手还不停地往脸上擦，不一会儿，就把自己弄成了面粉脸，逗得众人哈哈大笑。女孩子就喜欢笑，我心中暗喜，特别感谢弟弟，手下的动作加快了。

终于，最后一坨饺子馅也被我抢来包了。我长长地吁了一口气，直了直酸痛的腰，看着自己盆里的成果，脸不竟红了。

爷爷和奶奶开始评比了，马上就可以宣布结果了。我有些忐忑不安。

爷爷宣布：“本次比赛，斯斯和紫微的饺子外形美观，寓意年年有余，是好兆头，并列第一，请领奖金！”看着堂姐和表妹兴奋地从爷爷手里领过大红包，我有一丝失落。

“紫瑞包的饺子，外形虽不美，但数量第一，有奖！”爷爷的声音又响了起来。

“我也有？”抬头一看，爷爷手里还扬着一个大红包，太好了，我一蹦三尺高，红包就到了我手里，满屋子爆发出一阵笑声。

有趣的包饺子比赛结束了，我得了红包，全家得了欢乐！更重要的是我明白了一个道理：做任何事情，一定要亲自去实践！

It was early in the morning. The sun was just creeping(爬) out of the eastern horizon(地平线)and golden red was penetrating (穿透) through the white clouds and across the sky. The lakes,the trees and the bamboos looked as if they were all gilded. The ground was covered withtender grass, on whose blades some dew drops were glistening(晶莹剔透) under the sunshine.
