There have been many changes in my life. With the development of the economy, my life is better off. For clothing, I have spare money to buy all sorts of pretty clothes. Nowadays, the world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmental destruction. Each day thousands of tons of gases come out of the exhausts of motor vehicles. Smoke from factories pollutes the air of industrialized areas and the surrounding areas of the countryside. Recently,haze weather has become a usual phenomenon here in large part of China. People are forced to wear the mask to avoid breathing poisonous air. Some people think it is impossible to solve the problem,however,from my opinion,if we find out the reason and take effective measures the environment can be better.

If we trace the cause for haze weather,the main points are as follows,first,our countrys air quality standards are rather lax and evaluation factors are limited,so you will see that current air appraisal system has defects. Second,some people just go for economic interests instead of turning out products according to relevant law and regulations. They tend to use obsolete equipment in which they are more likely to emit a great deal of wasted air. Third,across our society,the awareness of protecting the environment has not built up so that people havent formed a habit of using green product and saving energy as much as possible. If we dont take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.

Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws passed to conserve the environment. In my opinion, to protect the environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, people should be educated to recognize the importance of the problems, to use modern methods of birth control, to conserve our natural resources and recycle our products. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the policy of population into practice, because more people mean more pollution. Finally,laws concerning environmental protection should be put into effect and enforce strictly just as our government has been doing. Last Sunday my father and I went fishing along a river. We found the water so dirty that we could hardly catch fish in it.

A lot of factories along the river always poured their waste water and rubbish straight into the river which made the river water polluted. In this way most of the fish in the river were killed.

我的家乡在离××市200公里的××一个小村子里。这个村子跟以前相比，变化可大啦！

我知道苏州是一个美丽的城市，既有山，又有水，还有园林。一下火车，便迎面扑来一阵微风，不由自禁地说：“早晨，好清爽。”抬头仰望天空，天空上呈现出了一幅美丽的蓝天白云图，苏州的街道并不宽，但是非常干净，看不见一点垃圾，在苏州的城市之中，谁处可见一座座小桥，小桥下就是潺潺的流水。人们在小桥做着小生意，摆一摆小摊，显得这个社会十分和谐，让人感觉到神清气爽。

我们第一个游览的景点是：虎丘。虎丘山是因整座山就像一支匍匐在地上的一头老虎。前面的一扇门是头，虎丘塔当然就是老虎的尾巴，就这个才得名的。虎丘是先有山后有寺的，苏州人怕虎丘山上的宝藏被强盗偷走，因此用一个寺将山包围在其中，虎丘山上是一片绿油油的树林，在树林中的每一棵树的枝头上都站立了几只小鸟，他们一唱一和，正在演艺着大自然进行曲，当然，虎丘塔还是这座山中最有名的了，它共有七层，整体来看向左倾斜。东吴的一个王就葬于此塔下，由于有一些强盗偷这个墓里面的东西，因此虎丘他被连烧了几次，正是因为几次大火才将塔保存到现在完好无损。

在之后我还游览了苏州的许多美丽的景点，有：水箱和太湖。这些景点都令我十分的难忘，特别是太湖。碧蓝碧蓝的水十分美丽，在湖中心的西山显得非常孤独。可他依然昂首挺胸，这也刚好映衬了一句话“白银盘里义青螺”。

这就是我眼前的美丽苏州，再见了，苏州；再见了，太湖；再见了，苏州！

Stepping into the new century, environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. Such as, water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution and so on. It seems that we live on a planet which is full of pollution. Where all these pollution comes from? To a large extend, the environmental destruction is the heavy price that we pay for the rapid development of economy and the growing population. In order to have more fuel, people cut down trees and dig more corals. But the growing needs for energy are hardly to meet. Countless private cars on the street, the gas stations are short of gasoline, even the government has raise the price so many times in order to control the needs of gasoline, but it’s still not working. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However, the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.

The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way, our earth could be a better place to live in.

六年前我从温溪搬到船寮镇白岸村，这里的空气很清新，前面是山，后面是水，草坪上还长满了美丽的鲜花，水里、湖里游动着小雨小虾。这里几乎是绿色，没有任何污染，我可以放心的躺在草坪上睡着，或者两树中间汤秋千，无忧无虑、无拘无束。春天摘花、夏天钓鱼、秋天拾叶，冬天堆雪人。

但六年后的今天，我望着眼前的场景感到了非常的失望。空气中夹着一股古怪的臭味，山不清了，水也不秀了，草地上也没有了花，没有了草，就连水中的鱼儿也都不见了，遍地是塑料袋、垃圾纸，我也不能在那玩耍了。在那片充满我儿时回忆的土地上建起了高高的楼层，即使这里变富裕了，也不会拥有自然的环境了。

到后来才发现，这里原本就是注定要改变成这样的，既然是这样的话，那回到从前岂不是难上加难。来到这个小村庄我还是很快乐的，他富有了，只可惜天上的鸟儿失去了家园，改变后的村子，即使不是最完美的,但一定是令人最满足的。

改变其实更是有好有坏的，两者是永远不能完美的。

Development and the Environment

It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people＇s lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.
