家乡最令我惊叹的是厕所，以前厕所不能叫厕所，而是叫茅坑。那时候上个厕所都得小心翼翼地不让自己瞄偏了，还有一些没有公德心的人，卫生纸随便扔，上个厕所也不瞄准，搞得整个厕所臭气熏天，苍蝇嗡嗡乱叫。要是你看见那副场景，肯定就是尿裤子也不愿意上厕所。上完厕所你肯定要洗手吧，但是老家的厕所根本没有水龙头，用的都是从河边挑回来的水，而且用不了多久就臭了。而现在呢？白色的马桶只要一按按钮就把脏东西全冲走了。洗手只要一扭开关清澈的水就流出来了，墙上还贴了标语：上完厕所请冲水！整个厕所比以前干净多了。

这一切都是因为改革开放。改革开放给我们带来了很多好处，让我们认识到学习科学知识的重要性。

2010年上海世博会将于5月1日—10月31日在位于南浦大桥和卢浦大桥之间黄浦江的滨水区举办。随着世博会的临近，上海正在发生日新月异的变化，马路上、人行道上，明显比以前干净了许多，房屋的墙壁上都涂上了新的亮丽的颜色。

有一天，我路过共和新路，发现房屋都换了颜色，我想：上一次来这里还是老样子，但今天怎么变了颜色呢？正在我诧异之时，“咯”的一声，一个物体从空中落了下来，接近地面时，我看清了，是一把油漆刷子，我抬头一看发现有一位油漆工正在放绳子，想把那把油漆刷子拾起来，我看了一眼，啊呀，上面有狗屎！

我猜想那油漆工一定会把这把刷子扔进下面的草坪里，因为，我以前看见过有的油漆工就是这样做过。不想，这位油漆工拉开绳索，跳下草坪，来到有水的地方，把上面的狗屎冲掉，然后拉好绳索，继续刷起墙来。下午5：00多，他终于完工了，放下绳索，拎起油漆刚准备离开，看见地上的狗屎，他站在原地想了一会儿，突然，他拿起刷子，把地上的狗屎都弄到刷子上，然后跑到上午洗刷子的地方，把占有狗屎的刷子洗干净，弄完以后便无声无息地走了。

每天都有许多像油漆工那样清洁人员在自己的岗位上为世博默默无闻的奉献着，劳动着，我们要向他们致敬，感谢他们给了我们带来一个崭新的，美丽的城市。

随着经济的快速发展，人民生活水平的显著提高，国家的改革政策，家乡的变化也越来越大了。我的家乡是太湖，我从小生活的地方是太湖的一个小村，太湖是鱼米之乡，大部分人都是农民，现在，年轻人都在外地打工，平时只剩下写老年人和小孩，村里的90%以上的村名的生活水平也挺高了，带动了村里的发展。

经济水平方面，以前经济比较落后，大部分的村名靠在家种田来获取一定的收入，但是，收入很微薄，家中通常还有人在外地打工赚钱。这些年村民的生活水平提高了。电话，彩电，冰箱，洗衣机，热水器，空调，天然气……渐渐住进了每位村民的家。人们的生活更加便利舒适。

住房方面，以前村里的房子80%是泥瓦房，甚至还有比较陈旧的木头房，有些房子已经经受不起风吹日晒了，有些已经被废弃，面临的就是倒塌了。房里的家具也很陈旧了，当时也没有什么特别好的电器。随着村民生活水平的提高，大家开始重视物质享受，首先就是住房问题，近些年，一幢幢漂亮的砖瓦房建成了，有钱的人家造了庭院式的楼房。

道路交通更加便利，小时候村里的路是土路，一到雨天就特别泥泞，村里的小道很窄，有的地方只能一个人可以通过，自行车都很难通过。晚上村子就陷入一片黑暗了，不用说什么路灯了。而且交通也不便利。在政府的补贴下和村民集体的建议下，从村里的主干路变成了水泥路，走得更方便了，雨天也不会泥泞了。村里的原来的小道也渐渐地被水泥道取代，扩宽了不少，别说自行车了，现在连小轿车都能通过，交通也便利了。

学习教育方面：记得刚上小学的时候，村里的学校设备不齐全，教室很小，学校很小，墙壁都是灰突突的，雨天的时候还会漏水，教室里地面高低不平。后来政府补贴了，学校重建了，设备齐全了，教室大了，学习资源也更丰富了。教育水平提高了。

人员素质方面有很大提高。记得小时候，村里经常遭贼，不是谁家鸡被偷了就是谁家菜被人摘了。吵架的，劝架的，都是为了一点鸡毛蒜皮的小事。很多年了，没见过妇女站在门前破口大骂的样子了。见了面都是客客气气的，邻里间和睦相处。

这些年，家乡变化很大，在国家政府的扶持和村民们的努力下，生活水平各方面都有很大的提高，相信以后会越来越好。

We should make our cities greener by planting more trees, grass and flowers. A green enviromnent can bring us pleasure, beauty and fresh air.
