It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.

Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if peoples lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution?

There is plenty of evidence to show that sustainable development can be achieved by balancing economic growth with protection of the environment. The key to achieving this is to make people aware of the seriousness of the problem. Both governments and ordinary citizens should join hands to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves, but also for future generations.

This summer vacation, I joined a social practice to be a part-time tourguide. There I found something that impressed me a lot.

People who love traveling are always finding places to take a vacation, which caused a lot of troubles.For example, I found that some people were used to dropping out the trash everywhere. They just regarded the sightseeings as their houses, which cost a lot to clean it up. Besides, some one should write down their names on the trees and walls. People who wanted to leave their names whereever they went are always to punish in future.

我的家乡在俗有“塞上小江南之称”的临泽。这里风景如画，四季如歌，美丽极了。这里有风景优美的颐和绿苑，有整洁亮丽、热闹非凡的步行街，琳琅满目的体育商品市场，宽阔平坦的广场。

听妈妈说，以前的临泽县城并不是这样的，以前的颐和绿苑曾是一栋栋又低又矮的平房，到处是垃圾堆，夏天苍蝇飞舞，蚊子乱撞，真是又臭又脏恶心极了，人们都不愿意到那里去;以前的步行街是一条普通的马路，可是那里摆小摊的特别多，有卖水果的，有卖糖果的，还有卖蔬菜的，还夹有风味小吃摊。那儿的秩序特别乱，不但人声嘈杂，而且人挤人，有时在路上好大一会儿都走不过去;以前的市场是一个特别拥挤的地方，这里物品不太丰富，每当人们走过这里时，都有一种难闻的气味，人们走过这里总是掩着鼻子，捂着嘴巴，皱着眉头;以前的广场是一片荒滩，春天风一刮尘土飞扬，夏天一下雨一片泥泞，人过都过不去，而且活动的设施也少得可怜。

现在的临泽县城和以前相比，真是天上人间。现在的颐和绿苑美丽如画，这里的树木郁郁葱葱，花朵五颜六色，空气清新甜润，是人们休闲、娱乐、健身的好地方;现在的步行街上建设了一个绿化带，步行街两旁耸立着一盏盏光彩夺目，整齐如一的霓虹灯。再也不见那挨挨挤挤的小摊;如今的市场又整洁又漂亮，里面的商品品种齐全，应有尽有，而且物美价廉，人们在市场上有秩序的购物;现在的广场成了一个宽阔平坦，设施齐全的广场，孩子们可以在广场上放风筝、玩耍，老人们在广场上打太极拳、散步，真是开心极了。

现在的临泽县城整洁、漂亮，但未来的临泽县城将会更加美好。希望未来的颐和绿苑林茂草盛，鸟语花香;希望未来的步行街将会是一个热闹美丽的休闲去处，会有各种景致供人们观赏;未来的市场会是一个全自动化的大市场，人们购物时不出家门可以用电脑购物，商家会自动送货上门;未来的广场将会更宽阔，更整齐，广场上各种健身器材一应俱全，可以满足所有人的健身、娱乐需要。

Do you want to live in the city or the country?

I like to live in the country that the sun rises in the morning with the first golden light & the first sound from the cock.. All the animals & plants begin their life from this moment on and some of the animals begin their sleeping the new day. This is a very beautiful beginning in the world that you just can see all these in the country not in the city.

And for people , the people in the country are kind although they are ungrace-ful .that is not important that you will feel what is the realest in the friendship of people.

The people live in the country is kinder than the people live in the city . this is so sure that I just feel all this from my grandparents . My grandpatents both are country people. Their family is poor that they even do not have more money after they finish all their meals.but my mother was so so interested in studying. My grandparents got five children & gave the choice to study to allof them .

Cars and Air Pollution

Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. 曾经看到这么一则广告：一些人由于滥用水资源而导致水源消失，最后，他们的眼里渗出了一滴晶莹的泪珠，就在泪珠旁边，写着几个字：如果我们继续滥用水资源，那么，最后一滴水将是我们的眼泪!这一则广告深深地震撼了我，是呀，如果我们缺乏环保意识。那带给人类的危害又何止如此呢?

还记得小时候，妈妈经常为我唱一首歌：“青山那个绿水哎，沂蒙山好……”我的家乡就座落在美丽的沂蒙山，可是从我记事起，我走出家门，却找不到妈妈歌中的美丽景象，妈妈告诉我，由于这几年经济的发展，工厂的增加，人们的环保意识越来越差，使我们的家乡变得又脏又臭。河水浑浊不清，小溪没有了欢唱，空气散发着一股难闻的气息，湖水面积越来越小，变得又黑又浑，发出一股酸臭味。河里的小鱼小虾等动植物都死了，抬眼看到的是灰蒙蒙的天空，低头看到的是树木又低又小，压得喘不过气来，花儿已经枯萎了。许多树林都被一栋栋的房子所代替，还有的变成了各式各样的工具，应有尽有的家具……小鸟们都伤心地离开了它们的家园，很多动物也无奈地离开了……

人们发明了一种车，不但物美价廉，而且还特别保护环境哩!这种车叫太阳能跑车，只要有太阳就能跑!既节约汽油，还保护环境。

科学家发明了一种垃圾机器人，专门收垃圾!比如：有人把香蕉皮扔到地上，垃圾机器人就过去把香蕉皮捡起扔到垃圾箱里…….

我希望，在我们大家的努力下，我们的家乡会变得更美丽，更干净，更可爱!

我的家乡坐落在距镇政府六公里的偏僻山村。生活在大城市的人们一定会羡慕我们那悦人的鸟声，流淌心底的汩汩泉水，郁郁葱葱的茂密森林。如果我能用我小手中的笔再来一段生花的描绘，那我准保你向往、痴情。

但让你失望了，我的家乡是这样的不堪瞅视，况且还令人生厌……

千里之外蜿蜒流淌了一条河(曾经算得上是大河，他是珠江的重要支流，河上建起了大小不一的近十个水电站，它是我们的母亲河)，当它百折千回流经我生活的小村庄时，已是那样的纤细，那样的污浊不堪：河面得又窄又浅，水流量小得惊人，水质也不像从前那样叫人放心。

去年以来，我国西南地区遭受了百年不遇的旱灾，我们就是深受其苦的灾民。这里的人们一边企盼老天早日降雨，一边却又生计等原因而悖自然为之——任意取水。于是我们的村寨郁郁葱葱的森林变成了枯树，大地变成了焦土。

曾经，这里的山坡全长满一棵棵高大而笔直的树，那幅绿油油的画面让人看了心旷神怡。而今，却变得黑乎乎、晕乎乎。

我们渴望健康成长，我们渴望有一个适宜我们生存的好环境，我们的渴望其实就是家长的渴望、社会的渴望。我们的渴望在任何人眼里都不是奢侈。我们渴望新鲜的空气、纯净的母亲河水，长辈：你们就不能给她纯净，还她美丽?

到后来才发现，这里原本就是注定要改变成这样的，既然是这样的话，那回到从前岂不是难上加难。来到这个小村庄我还是很快乐的，他富有了，只可惜天上的鸟儿失去了家园，改变后的村子，即使不是最完美的,但一定是令人最满足的。

改变其实更是有好有坏的，两者是永远不能完美的。
