Summer can be very hot in southernxx where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.

The summer vacation had come round again. I was happy that I could forget about school at least for a while. Lest I fool around all through this summer vacation, I made a plan as to how to spend it. First, I thought I should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that I could have a better understanding of them. Then I thought I should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. It stood to reason that with such a good plan I should make the best of my vacation time. I did, because I lived up to what I had planned.

This years summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent fifteen days helping my grandparents doing farm work in the countryside， where I saw mountains fields covered with green plants. Sometimes I went swimming in the river to the west of the village， the water in which was quite clear.

我妈妈开了一家午托部。这不，暑假一到，妈妈又办了一暑假班，起早贪黑、日夜操劳的忙着招生，非常辛苦。我为了减轻一点妈妈的负担，就决定帮妈妈干点活。这不，那些学生一吃完饭，我就开始洗碗了。刚开始的时候，我还不太熟练，动作慢吞吞的，效率也不高，洗完后总要妈妈在检查一遍，干净了才能放进消毒柜，锅里还有剩菜的话，妈妈还要帮我提着锅，我才能拿着锅铲一点一点的倒菜。半个月后，我渐渐熟练了，也掌握了洗碗的技巧，往往不到二十分钟我就能能把像小山一样堆在水池里的锅碗"干掉"，还能帮妈妈收拾一下厨房：把冰箱清一清、把妈妈做饭用的垃圾倒进垃圾桶、把厨房的地扫一扫，拖一拖......每次整完厨房，我想起以前的情景，突然有种成就感。

后来我想，光干这一样也太少了吧！于是，我又"报了一门功课"，是什么呢？告诉你们吧！是盛饭。虽然看起来简单，但里面的讲究可不少呢！刚开始，我盛的多得多、少的少，多的有一大碗，有时候连大人也吃不完。少的只有那么几口，用勺子扒两口就都吃完了。后来，妈妈又告诉我谁吃得多，谁吃得少。谁爱吃什么，不爱吃什么。下了一番苦功，终于把这些都背会了。盛饭终于不成问题啦！看着大家吃的高高兴兴，我也很开心，又攻下了了一门功课，简直比那时候岳飞攻下了一座城还高兴啊！最近，我又多了一门新工作，是帮学生拿加餐，加餐是什么？当然是冰糕啦！虽然看起来，做起来都很简单，但是因为我家的冰糕成堆成堆的，品牌也多得很，更何况，那些学生必须要一种冰糕，百中挑一，简直比大海捞针还难哪！我的手在冰箱里翻来翻去，手都变成白的了，快成"人肉冰棒"啦！这个暑假即将要过去了，妈妈突然叫我过来，给我手里塞了一百块钱，说："这是你这一个暑假里干活的辛苦钱，给！"拿着这一百块钱，我高兴极了！

今年暑假，我在劳动中即获得了快乐，也体会到了生活的乐趣，更品味了人生大课堂的酸、甜、苦、辣。

This August I went to a two-week long English camp which was held by English Beacon in Yantai city, Shandong Province. There were over a hundred middle school students from all over the country and thirty experts in English teaching participating in this exciting camp.

While we were there, it was required that we speak only English to our teachers and with each other. There were many activities which were funny and helped us to strengthen our oral English skills, such as, the Second Annual National Debate for Middle School Students,the Third National English Speech Competition for Middle School Students and English parties. We also visited many places of interest. Learning English was exciting and the teachers were very friendly and helpful. This camp was a real life-changing experience that I will never forget.

After morning’s class,we couldn’t help rushing to the cafeteria.It always brought us coolness.The food was so-so,but the home-cooking is much delicious.When we almost finished eating,I suddenly saw a familiar face——our foreign teacher Nick.A girl was sitting beside him.They were talking over lunch.I at once told my friends Sandy and Jenny about it.We were so excited.I slowed my speed of eating to wait for that girl.At the moment,they finished their lunch and walked by us with the smile on their faces.Nick seemed so different from how he looked in the class.I guess that is the power of love.Hope they will enjoy everyday when they get together.So romantic!
