我们的地球有百分之70到百分之75的地方被水覆盖。虽然，空气中、土壤里也存在着水。淡水资源主要储存在南北两极和格凌兰岛的冰川水，湖泊，河流等的储备量只有6万立方英里。但是非所有的淡水都适合人类开采河利，事实上，人类可以利用的水资源只占地球的百分之0.3。
