When I was six years old, I began to go to school. The first school (which) I attended was a primary school. 当年的教与学都是非常艰苦的，一方面本来三年的初中课程要压缩为两年完成，又没有成套的教材；另一方面，由于“文革”几年动荡，我们的小学文化知识基础不牢，许多知识都没有学过。教学难度大，同学压力也大。但是，当时我们的各科老师都非常的敬业，他们根据当年教材，结合自己教学经验，一边给我们补习文化知识，一方面搜集资料自编教材，给我们补充讲授我们应当掌握而教材又没有的知识。忘不了各科老师为了我们掌握更多的文化理论知识而付出的努力，像英语老师殷秀辉当时已年近60，但她几乎每天早早到校，见缝插针的督促同学们背诵英语单词，课堂上，经常找来英语版的寓言故事放录音，放幻灯片然后让同学复述。千方百计地锻炼我们的听、说、读、写能力。生物尽可能给同学提供自己动手试验的机会。特别是语文教学，采取的是开门教学方式，老师带领我们搞社会调查，写村史，组织校际间交流，还将同学们分成若干小组，给予不同的课题。如：搜集文学各种体裁的表现形式，工人、农民的语言特点等等。然后各组汇报、交流，老师再加以指导，既授予了我们文化知识，又锻炼了我们的实践能力。为我们今后继续深造，自学打下了基础。
