你在海滩上捡到过贝壳吗?它们五光十色十分美丽。贝壳属于软体动物，分为腹足纲和双壳纲两大类群物种，前者只有单个壳，后者却有两扇壳，单贝壳被人们称作“螺”。螺一般生长在礁石上，它总是成群结队地生活着。

在市场上，最常见的贝类就是以花蛤、文蛤为首的各种“蛤”了。它们大多呈卵圆形，近三角形，瓶盖儿大小，壳的表面很光滑。它们在泥沙下面生活，吃饭就用两根管子，一根用来吸水一根用来吐水，滤食水中的浮游生物。

古筝又名汉筝，秦筝，鸾筝，是中国汉族传统乐器。它是中国独有的，重要的民族乐器之一。古筝的统一规格为一点六三米，有二十一根弦，一个音区有1，2，3，4，5，6这几个音，4和7压在3和6上弹的，在D调乐曲中，绿色的弦都是5的音。古筝的面板大多数采用桐木制作，框架为白松。筝首，筝尾，四周侧板有红木，老红木，金丝楠木，紫檀筝名贵木材。

古筝分为三个部分，分别是：前岳山，琴身和后岳山。琴身上还有21个雁柱，也称琴马，筝马。因为它长得像马，所以叫筝马。在古筝的背面还有三个出音空。古筝很像一块木板，但和木板相比，古筝能演奏出优美的音乐。告诉你们一个秘密：最早，筝是战国时期的一种兵器，用于竖着挥打敌人。还有一句古话是：“筝横为乐，立地成兵”。之后人们在上面加上琴弦，拨动时悦耳动听，于是发展成乐器。

The Ghost Festival, also known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival and holiday celebrated by Chinese in many countries. In the Chinese calendar (a lunisolar calendar), the Ghost Festival is on the 15th night of the seventh lunar month (14th in southern China).

In Chinese tradition, the fifteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called Ghost Day and the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm. Distinct from both the Qingming Festival (in Spring) and Chung Yeung Festival (in Autumn) in which living descendants pay homage to their deceased ancestors, on Ghost Day, the deceased are believed to visit the living.

On the fifteenth day the realms of Heaven and Hell and the realm of the living are open and both Taoists and Buddhists would perform rituals to transmute and absolve the sufferings of the deceased. Intrinsic to the Ghost Month is ancestor worship, where traditionally the filial piety of descendants extends to their ancestors even after their deaths. Activities during the month would include preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper, a papier-mâché form of material items such as clothes, gold and other fine goods for the visiting spirits of the ancestors. Elaborate meals (often vegetarian meals) would be served with empty seats for each of the deceased in the family treating the deceased as if they are still living. Ancestor worship is what distinguishes Qingming Festival from Ghost Festival because the latter includes paying respects to all deceased, including the same and younger generations, while the former only includes older generations. Other festivities may include, buying and releasing miniature paper boats and lanterns on water, which signifies giving directions to the lost ghosts and spirits of the ancestors and other deities.

The Ghost Festival is celebrated during the seventh month of the Chinese calendar. It also falls at the same time as a full moon, the new season, the fall harvest, the peak of Buddhist monastic asceticism, the rebirth of ancestors, and the assembly of the local community. During this month, the gates of hell are opened up and ghosts are free to roam the earth where they seek food and entertainment. These ghosts are believed to be ancestors of those who forgot to pay tribute to them after they died, or those who were never given a proper ritual send-off. They have long needle-thin necks because they have not been fed by their family, or as a punishment so that they are unable to swallow. Family members offer prayers to their deceased relatives, offer food and drink and burn hell bank notes and other forms of joss paper. Joss paper items are believed to have value in the afterlife,considered to be very similar in some aspects to the material world, People burn paper houses, cars, servants and televisions to please the ghosts. Families also pay tribute to other unknown wandering ghosts so that these homeless souls do not intrude on their lives and bring misfortune. A large feast is held for the ghosts on the fourteenth day of the seventh month, when people brings samples of food and places them on an offering table to please the ghosts and ward off bad luck.

In some East Asian countries today, live performances are held and everyone is invited to attend. The first row of seats are always empty as this is where the ghosts sit. The shows are always put on at night and at high volumes as the sound is believed to attract and please the ghosts. Some shows include Chinese opera, dramas, and in some areas, even burlesque shows. These acts are better known as "Merry-making".

For rituals, Buddhists and Taoists hold ceremonies to relieve ghosts from suffering, many of them holding ceremonies in the afternoon or at night (as it is believed that the ghosts are released from hell when the sun sets). Altars are built for the deceased and priests and monks alike perform rituals for the benefit of ghosts. Monks and priests often throw rice or other small foods into the air in all directions to distribute them to the ghosts.

During the evening, incense is burnt in front of the doors households. Incense stands for prosperity in Chinese culture, so families believe that there is more prosperity in burning more incense.[4]During the festival, some shops are closed as they want to leave the streets open for the ghosts. In the middle of each street stands an altar of incense with fresh fruit and sacrifices displayed on it.

Fourteen days after the festival, to make sure all the hungry ghosts find their way back to hell, people flow water lanterns and set them outside their houses (a practice that can be found amongst the Japanese during Obon). These lanterns are made by setting a lotus flower-shaped lantern on a paper boat. The lanterns are used to direct the ghosts back to the underworld, and when they go out, it symbolizes that they have found their way back.

No matter where I am, I find it hard to resist the tempting call of my hometown. Situated at the northern tip of Anhui province, my hometown, Dangshan county, is the junction of four provinces. They are respectively in Anhui, Jiangsu, Shandong and Henan.

My hometown is the northern gate of Anhui province, located in the southern end of the Huanghuai plain, and also a bridgehead for the Eurasia continental bridge.

Hi!大家好!我是一株含羞草。相信你们对我一点也不陌生，拥有独特名字的我，叶子只要被轻轻触碰，就会快速闭合。因此，有些人也把我叫作害羞草、感应草等。

其实，这是我们适应外界环境条件变化的一种方式。我们的老家在巴西，那里常有大风大雨。每当第一滴雨打在叶子上时，我们就会立刻合上叶子，叶柄下垂，以减少暴风雨对我们的伤害。此外，这也是我们的一种自卫方式，只要动物一碰到我们，我们就合拢叶子，动物便不敢吃我们了。

我们的家族十分庞大，约有500个品种，因此我感到特别自豪。

今天我要介绍的是：我盼星星盼月亮，都快把世界看穿了的——显微镜。

这个包裹一共送了三天整，我每天都心急如焚，恨不得直接飞到包裹正在的地方，直接取走包裹。但不过拿到手了以后，还和妈妈一起琢磨了整整几十分钟，可是我俩怎么也琢磨不出来，最后还是爸爸教的呢!

显微镜由红、白、黑三种颜色组成，分布的很是均匀，上面有100倍，400倍，和1200倍镜头。如果只是单纯的把标本卡进去的话，你只可能会看到黑漆漆的，因为没有开灯，但是如果开灯以后的话，你还是只会看到一个点，那是因为没有上下调整。直到你觉得看的最清楚的时候，那就是观察这个标本卡最合适的位置了。

里面有许多的附赠品，主要有显微镜、滴管、标本。标本可以分为四大类：动物的身体，动物的毛发和鱼鳞，植物的一部分，植物的粉，分别用红、黄、蓝、绿代替。

滴管的作用是制作标本，制作标本的方法也非常的简单：第一，按紧上方，慢慢的松开，第二，拿一个空的载玻片，滴上水，第三，使用罐子抓一只标本。放在载玻片上，一个简单的标本就这么做好了。当然还有这别的方法，如果想要观察为生物的话，可以从烟灰缸取点东西。用淡盐水浸泡一周或者是一周以上，再用显微镜观察一下，你就会发现微生物，再放大就能看到奇奇怪怪的图案。像是把自己缩小了几百倍，又像是把微生物放大了几百倍。

首先导游带我们走入一号坑，映入眼帘的是许多的兵马俑，导游跟我们说：“这时一号坑，里面有6000多个兵马俑，里面包含前锋部队、战车、战车侧翼、中锋……”我仔细一看，原来每个兵马俑都不同呀，他们神态不一，动作不一，脸型不一，甚至身高也不一样，真是奇妙!古代任命可真有想象力呀!这真是巧夺天工!这么多的兵马俑竟然可以不重复真令我佩服。怪不得秦始皇能南征北战，统一六国。

走完一号坑，我们就来到了二号坑，二号坑是一个支援部队，里面有跪射俑，立射佣，战车，立射佣和跪射俑形成了一个强大的军阵。右脚跪下，左脚立起，身着战甲，脚蹬长靴，表情严肃，发髻向左，手上仿佛拿弓箭，而立射佣差不多跟跪射俑一样，只不过他是站起来的，为什么他们没持兵器呢?根据专家推测因为埋在地下的时间太长的缘故，这些兵器全部腐蚀掉了所以这些佣的手型明显有“握”和“拿”却两手空空。我仿佛听见了设计的“刷刷刷……”看见了密集的箭，闻到了浓烈的火药味。

接着我们又来到了三号坑，听导游说，三号坑是一个司令部专门指挥部队的，里面有两辆马车，一辆是当护工的，一辆是秦始皇的。秦始皇真是雄才大略，我不禁看到了马蹄扬起的灰尘，听到了马蹄踏在地上的声音。我仿佛看见了他坐在战车上指挥千军万马，统一中国，南征北战。

导游还说了四号坑没开放，是一个储备粮食的地方。

这只地下军队是古代劳动人民的心血，这是我们祖国的骄傲，这么壮观的景象，怪不得成为了世界的第八大奇迹。

先说说我的缺点吧，我的缺点就是在学习上非常的马虎，上课的时候一点也不认真听讲，有时光做小动作;上课的时候我很少举手回答问题，写作业的时候一点都不认真，总是马马虎虎的，一写作业就有许多的错题，没有几个对题。

我喜欢跳舞，因为每当放假的时候我就让妈妈送我学跳舞，从那时起我就爱上了跳舞，跳舞可以给我带来快乐和欢笑;可以让我反应快;也可以给我带来快乐的梦想。

我喜欢唱歌，因为唱歌对我的嗓子好，从那时起我就爱上了唱歌。唱歌有一个特点就是可以边唱歌边跳舞。

可是，我有一个坏毛病，每天放学回家都慢慢地写作业，老是让爸爸妈妈生气。

哈哈，这就是我，一个爱唱歌、跳舞的小姑娘。

从现在起，我一定要把以上这些不好的毛病都改掉，做一个学习认真，做事不马虎的好学生，请老师和同学们帮助我，监督我，谢谢老师和同学的帮助，让我改掉这个坏毛病。

我叫徐烨煌，个子不高，圆圆的脸，头发乌黑发亮，一对炯炯有神的眼睛，像两颗黑宝石似的眼球一滚动，一些别人想不到的鬼点子就出来啦。挺直的小鼻子下头一张红红的小嘴，一笑起来就露出两排玉米粒一样的雪白的牙齿。很可爱吧!

我平时除了学校异常要求穿校服外，就最喜欢穿一件黑色的运动服，看起来英俊潇洒。因为我的头又大又圆，并且头发短短的，所以大家都亲切地叫我“假小子”。我的爱好有许多，如画画啦，玩电脑啦……都是我的业余爱好，可最爱的还是看书。

家里的、朋友家的书我都几乎看遍了。一有时间我就如饥似渴地捧起书看、看、看，看个没完没了，在知识的海洋里尽情遨游。家里到处都有我的书，只要随手一拿，我又看了起来。

有一次，妈妈叫我吃饭，我沉迷在书的资料里，听了也装没听到，妈妈叫了好几声，发怒了，我才懒洋洋地放下书，慢悠悠地说：“急什么，吃就吃，干嘛发这么大的火，看书又没坏处。”连妈妈也拿我没办法，此刻肚子里还装了不少故事呢!我还有一个人所皆知的特点，那就是淘气。把表弟表妹弄哭的事，不用说，肯定有我的份。

有一天晚上，妈妈到邻居家谈话，表弟到我家来玩。立刻，又一个鬼主意在我的脑海里冒出来了。表弟敲敲门，我立刻把电灯关了，戴上鬼面具，蹑手蹑脚地开了门，表弟见门开了，屋里没有灯，便喊了几声姐姐，却没人回答，便壮起胆子，脱了鞋，走进来。突然，听见了“鬼”叫声，开始心虚了，就在这时候，我一下跳了出来。在月光的照射下，他隐隐约约地看见一个“鬼”，表弟吓得一滑，跌倒在地上，大哭起来。

灯亮了，表弟看见我哈哈大笑的模样，干脆躺在地上撒起野来，不哭不止。这时，刚好妈妈回来了，结果，我被结结实实地打了一顿。我只好哭丧着脸向表弟又说好话，又道歉，还把好吃的、好玩的都拿出来，哄他露出了笑脸。妈妈见了，说：“这才像个哥哥的样貌。”听了我的介绍，大家愿不愿意跟我交朋友呢?

要上小班的时候，妈妈给我买了一个卷笔刀，是粉色的。

卷笔刀是长方形的，后面有个“长尾巴”，“长尾巴”可是很好用的一个武器呢!卷笔刀上有两只小耳朵，很可爱，我要是斜着拉一下它的小耳朵，它就会把大嘴张开，你一定要小心，这个大嘴巴里头有尖牙齿呢!

每天我的小铅笔都要做运动，在卷笔刀里跑步，让自己身上的脂肪变少，变成一位瘦小的小姑娘，可爱极了!小脂肪也是跑不了的，它会被卷在卷笔刀的大口袋里，一个也出不去。如果我的大口袋装不下那么多脂肪，我就会把它倒在垃圾桶里，让我的大口袋可以装下一次的脂肪。

还有我的小卷笔刀的头也能拉动。只要我轻轻一拉，我的卷笔刀的头就会缩回去，如果拉到顶了，卷笔刀的头就不会再缩回去。不过，卷笔刀缩头的事儿让我想起对门家的小乌龟，我如果动它时，它就会缩回小脑袋，动小爪子也会缩回去。对门儿家的珍珍会说：“我家的小乌龟是一个爱缩头的乌龟!”我说：“是呀，像我家的卷笔刀一样缩脑袋!哈哈!”

如今我的小卷笔刀已经坏了，虽然如此，但是卷笔刀的样子却依然留在我的记忆里。

我爱你，我的大口袋卷笔刀，我一定会记住你帮铅笔小姐减肥的事儿，也不会忘记你缩脑袋的本领。

My name is xxx. I am a sophomore studying in Beijing institute of petrochemical technology. My hobbies are varied from individual to group activities. Such as XXX XXX XXX XXX.

The main reason of applying to be Olympic volunteer of 2008 is that I think this will be my unforgettable and GREat experience in my whole life. This is the first time to hold Olympic Games in china, for every Chinese person, this Olympic game is very important and memorable. Besides, Olympic Games will be held in Beijing. As a citizen of Beijing, I feel very proud. Although I am only a graduate, I think that I must actively contribute to the Olympic Games. Unnumbered people want to be Olympic volunteers, but they have no opportunities.

I am so lucky that I am a graduate, and I have opportunity to work for Olympic. My heart tells me that I cannot lose this GREat opportunity. I have geographical conditions that I live in Beijing and I study in Beijing. I have no reason to give up this opportunity to be Olympic volunteer. Furthermore, I can learn and get exercises in many respects, for example, my language skills, communication skills, association skills and ability to deal with matters of sudden urgency.
