When winter comes, especially the cold wind blows, I dont want to go out

of the house. Though the outdoor activity is limited, I still can find a lot of

things to do. The happiest thing for me is to eat hot pot with my families, at

the same time, we watch TV show. Doing these two things together can help us

厦门位于福建省东南，坐落在漳州和泉州之间，四周都是海洋，形成一个“海中城市”，在许多风景当中，印象最深的是厦门大学和鼓浪屿。

厦门大学是在抗日战争中，陈嘉庚先生于1921年创办，被誉为“南方之强”。我进入厦门大学，一栋栋高楼矗立在我的眼前，继续往前走就会看到厦门大学的主楼，主楼前是一串楼梯，楼梯尽头的上面就是一扇扇排列的窗户，里面就是一个个用银色纸点缀起来的教学房间。主楼的对面就是图书馆了，图书馆里面静悄悄的，我眼中找不到任何不是书的缝隙，我好像进入了书的海洋，里面的大哥哥、大姐姐正专心致志的看着书，好像要钻进去似的。主楼的旁边是一条长长的隧道，我进入隧道后，情不自禁的就被迷住了，隧道的两边被那些大哥哥。大姐姐们画满了画，我看着这些画，有的画记录了他们的校园时光，有的画里有卡通人物，有的画里面画出了他们的爱好……走出很远都感觉不到疲惫，直到阳光射到我脸上而产生的那股热，才发觉我已经走出了隧道了。

厦门不仅有厦门大学，还有鼓浪屿这一奇观。

厦门的另一个美景就是世界文化遗产——鼓浪屿，鼓浪屿中的许多事物都与我们不一样，岛上只有人力车，鼓浪屿的住所也与众不同，尤其是鼓浪屿的地板，是一个个水地板，在透明地板里注入水，让你在上面走时有一种在水面上跳跃的感觉，使你欢快而舒服。

厦门不仅有闻名中外的厦门大学和鼓浪屿，还有南普陀寺、白城沙滩、芙蓉楼群、建南楼群……

我舍不得厦门。更舍不得厦门的大海和风景。

今天是在厦门旅游的最后一天，导游将带我们去厦门科技馆，团里的小朋友们可高兴了。大家兴奋的手舞足蹈，激动不已。不一会儿，我们就在导游的带领下来到了期盼已久的厦门科技馆。进行一天的科技参观和学习。

刚进门，映入眼帘的是一个巨大的水钟：它不用齿轮转动指针，也不需要电池来做动力，而是靠水为动力的计时装置。里面有复杂的机构，从左边看几个大水球灌满就是几个小时，从右边看有几个水球灌满就是几分钟。

首先，我们玩的是镜子迷宫的游戏。工作人员先给大家每人发了根白色的软泡沫管子，进去以后全是镜子，四面八方全是镜子中的你，搞得我眼花缭乱，只得靠那根软泡沫管子像盲人那样来探路，并晕头晕脑时不时不小心撞上镜子，引得大家哈哈大笑。

最让我感到惊奇的是隐身人小屋，小朋友们一个个进入到小屋后，在外面的人只能看到他的头，而身体去神奇地消失了。爸爸告诉我，这是因为镜子反射作用，把人的身体给档住了。所以，我们只看到人的头。

在地震模拟平台，我们第一次感受到了地震的威力，只见地动山摇，人站也站不住。爸爸扶住我，对我和弟弟说：“如果地震来了，我们就要躲到桌子底下，这样即使房子塌下来也能减少受伤。地震结束，就要赶紧从桌子下面趴出来逃跑。”

我们在科技馆中还看了二场精彩的表演。第一场是磁电大舞台表演，只见一名工作人员拿着一根铁棒，轻轻的动了一下像蜘蛛网的东西，一下子就出现了噼噼啪啪的闪电。再过一会儿的静电表演中，一位年轻的长发女老师走上表演台，在静力的作用下她的头发像刺猬一样一根根地竖了起来。第二场表演是机器人的表演，两台机器人舞着剑，时而向上，时而向下，相当精彩。而且最为让人叹为观止的是它们把陀螺放在箭锋上进行旋转。爸爸告诉我，这是因为人们用电机控制机器人，所以才会这么精彩。

我们还科技馆中还看了很多很多精彩的表演，都非常的好看。爸爸还告诉我，科技使人类进步，让我要好好学科学知识。

艳阳高照，天气晴朗，微风拂过脸颊，同学们脸上洋溢着一股兴奋，空气中荡漾着欢乐的气息。这一切的一切，都因为今天我们要去一个神奇的地方——厦门科技馆研学。

最让我印象深刻的是“镜子迷宫”。我怀着好奇的心情左顾右盼，想知道前方还有什么奇妙的事物。当我毫无准备地走入一扇门后，眼前的一幕让我的心猛地一缩——四面八方都站着一个一模一样的我！不过，一阵惊恐后，我很快反应过来——他们都是镜子里的“我”。我顿时松了一口气。这些镜子简直太奇妙了！我一转头，他们也在同一时刻转头；我走一步，他们也走一步。这使我顿时有种统领三军的感觉，镜子中的影子仿佛成了我麾下的士兵，这不禁让我飘飘然起来。

我还激动于“尖叫小屋”。这小屋真是“屋如其名”。瞧，一声声刺破耳膜的尖叫从里边跑出，回荡在耳畔；一阵阵剧烈的震动从里边传来，令你胆寒。然而，这更激发了我的好奇心，它推动着我忐忑地走进小屋。这小屋可真不友善，才刚进去便给了我一个当头棒喝：我小心地走着，突然，地面呈现出40度的斜角，我猝不及防地朝一面墙倒去，撞在墙壁。未等我站稳脚跟，地面又朝另一方斜去，我像被人玩弄于手中的木偶，又朝那个方向倒去……终于，来回几次后，我踉跄着跑出，心有余悸。

太阳偏西，仍旧风和日丽，我们走出科技馆，脑海里浮现出这一天的欢乐行程。这个多彩的星期四，我真是受益匪浅！

这个暑假，父母带我来到了厦门这座美丽的海滨城市。这里有景色优美的厦门大学、充满文艺气息的小渔村曾厝垵、现代感实足的双子塔、历史悠久的胡里山炮台，但最吸引我的还是鼓浪屿。

怀着激动的心情，我和父母乘船来到了这座美丽的小岛，从踏上这座小岛的第一刻起我就被这里的美景深深地吸引了：这里绿树成荫，花团锦簇，你不用去任何一个景点，就是单单往街上一站，收入眼底的就都是如同画中的景色。在这里，我第一次真真切切地体会了“美不胜收”这个词语的含义。

岛上的第一大景观当属闻名遐迩的日光岩，站在日光岩山门处就能看到一块几十米高的岩石凌空而立，犹如外星来的巨大陨石落到这里一般。我们随着拥挤的人流缓慢地爬上了岩石顶，这里就是鼓浪屿的制高点。从岩顶俯瞰全岛，鼓浪屿的美景尽收眼底。我极目远望，绿树、房屋、海水、船只都在我的脚下，这种君临天下一般的感觉让我觉得之前付出的辛苦努力都是值得的。

鼓浪屿的建筑别具一格，各有特色，中国建筑与欧美建筑交相辉映，它们似乎要在这里举行一场世界建筑博览会。我们游览了岛上最美的一座庭院花园——菽庄花园。这座有着悠久历史的花园依海而建，它集世界园林艺术的多个特色于一园，园中利用了“藏海”、“巧借”、“动静结合”等多种设计理念，让这里成为了一座让人叹为观止，流连忘返的海滨花园。

除了美景外，我们还品尝了岛上的美食，这里有当地的美食沙茶面、姜母鸭、花生汤、海蛎煎、鱼丸汤、土笋冻等，一边吃着美食一边欣赏着美景真是人生一大幸事。值得一提的是我们在这里遇到了一位别具特色的土耳其帅哥，他卖的是土尔其传统做法的冰激凌，每做好一个他并不是直接交到你手上，而是会杂耍般地与你互动，他令人眼花缭乱的动作和幽默的语言不时引得周围观看的人们哈哈大笑。

一天的游览时间一晃就结束了。我一边恋恋不舍地登上返回的渡船，一边想着：难怪人们把鼓浪屿比作是东海上一颗璀璨的明珠，看来真是名不虚传呀！

白白的一辆列车缓缓向我们开来，我和其他十一个人陆续跳上了列车，乘了五小时的动车以后，我们就到了所谓岛屿的地方———厦门

最美丽的大学

第一天，我们来到了素有全国最美丽大学之称的厦门大学。一走进去，我就感觉来到了仙境：硕大无比的校门，苍翠挺拔的榕树，再加上许许多多的游客，真是美不胜收。再往里走点儿，往左看，他是厦门大学的创使人———陈嘉庚先生。看！他左手拿着帽子，右手柱着拐杖，全神贯注地看着前方，好像若有所思，可真是太传神了。再往前走一段路程，就到了一个长方形的喷水当局，中门矗立着好像两只手捧着一本书的雕像，清澈的泉水从雕像的左右两头徐徐流出，泉水接触到水平面，溅起雪白的小水花，哇！真是风景如画呀！这就是真正的厦门。

小岛上的小吃

第三天，我们乘着轮渡，来到了厦门最著名的旅游景点———鼓浪屿。其中岛上最让我印象深刻的是小吃。着先我来介绍“八婆婆烧仙草”这种冷饮。它共有两种口味：奶茶、蜂蜜。另加几种配料，有烧成块状的仙草、有黑乎乎的龟苓膏、有又大又红的红豆、还有像胖娃娃似的花生，你听了，一定也想吃吧！现在我来介绍第二样小吃；鱼丸。远看鱼丸，就好像白色的含苞欲放的花朵。近看，用手摸摸，会感觉软软的，热腾腾的。吃一口，感觉又软又香，这时，鱼丸里的汁会流出来，吃一口在嘴上，美一片在心里。看到这，你肯定垂涎三尺了吧！这就是真正的厦门。

Because you are not for them. You are for the children. Children who need some

This is what Id like to ask you to help with. A little more time for

children to be children. Stretch the moment of magic and playfulness. Distract

them from the realities of a world gone mad so that they can laugh with their

breath rather than sob with their tears. Especially those caring for family

members, or suffering illness, hunger or poverty. Especially those hiding in

buildings as bombs rain down, or being handed shaking with fear or cold into a

boat to escape environmental disaster or war. Please help to light up their

worlds with a moment of joy and hope.

When I think about it youve got it tough this year... And when I really

think about it Im not sure that asking you for a lightsaber and getting one

(not that I ever did by the way) is equatable with controlling the space time

continuum and making the good of childhood last a little longer.

But you do inspire wonder and awe amongst those that write you letters and

go to sleep hoping there might be a new object in their possession come dawn.

You inspire good behaviour and, at least in my memory, some desperate last

minute attempts to redeem bad behaviour so as not to be overlooked. Spare a

thought too for those millions who want to write to you but through illiteracy

cant. Hear their words and help to give them the time and chance to learn how

to read and write so they can better their lives and escape their impoverished

beginnings.

I feel a little sorry for you. And I guess Ive done exactly what I said I

wouldnt... Asked you to help with adult problems and solve some of the greatest

worries we have for our children. I promise to leave some extra port and mince

pies for you!
