The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes,underground, and other sources. 理想是好的,是快乐的,是成功的起点。我认为,每个学生都有一个美好的理想,问我的理想是什么,我会说:“我的理想是当一个央视新闻工作者”。问我为什么有这样的理想,因为这来源于生活。“央视新闻联播”是我们中国重要的新闻,不仅我们整个国家的人民,有许多外国人会看到,所以职业代表着中国形象和语言水平。还有一个原因:这个工作可以使我们的国家人民访问到最新的新闻及了解我们中国的政治关系。以这样工作的方式来偿还我们伟大的祖国母亲。理想的背后是十万年的努力和困难的挑战。在未来的日子里,我将尽我最大的努力学习文化,学习知识,学习改善这些方面,展示自我,挑战更高的领域,如果你想要成功,必须修复它的身体,像一根蜡烛,你想烧掉它,必须有一场比赛,对手是我们的努力。理想是生命,在我们心中播下了年轻;理想是鞭子,让我们努力工作,我的理想是当一个央视新闻工作者,这是我的人生目标。

The Hero in My Heart

As we know， most peoplehave heroes in their hearts. For me, Dr Norman Bethune is the hero in my heart.He was a great doctor from Canada.

Dr Bethune was good at performing operations.And taking photos was his hobby. In 1938， he came toChina. He opened hospitals and invented medical tools. He worked so hard thathe saved thousands of Chinese people. He didn’t stop totake care of his own injured hand and died.

I am deeply moved by his stories. So I’ll work hard today and do my best to helpothers.

Clearly if we are to participate in the society in which we live we must

communicate with other people.

A great deal of communicating is performed on a person-to-person basis by

the simple means of speech.

If we travel in buses, buy things in shops, or eat in restaurants, we are

likely to have conversations where we give information or opinions, receive news

or comment, and very likely have our views challenged by other members of

society.

Face-to-face contact is by no means the only form of communication and

during the last two hundred years the art of mass communication has become one

of the dominating factors of contemporary society.

Firstly, inventiveness has led to advances in printing, telecommunications,

photography, radio and television.

Secondly, speed has revolutionized the transmission and reception of

communications so that local news often takes a back seat to national news,

which itself is often almost eclipsed by international news.

No longer is the possession of information confined to a privileged

minority.

In the last century the wealthy man with his own library was indeed

fortunate, but today there are public libraries.

Forty years ago people used to flock to the cinema, but now far more people

sit at home and turn on the TV to watch a program that is being channeled into

millions of homes.

Communication is no longer merely concerned with the transmission of

information.

The modern communication industry influences the way people live in society

and broadens their horizons by allowing access to information, education and

entertainment.

The printing, broadcasting and advertising industries are all involved with

informing, educating and entertaining.

Although a great deal of the material communicated by the mass media is

very valuable to the individual and to the society of which he is a part, the

vast modern network of communications is open to abuse.

However, the mass media are with us for better, for worse, and there is no

turning back.
