In modern society we are often sorry to see that people are reluctant to help others out, not to mention helping a stranger; offering a helping hand seems to be out of accord with the times。

Then what’s wrong with our society? Some people may say that facing skyrocketing housing prices, expensive medical expenditure

and soaring commodity prices, they have no choice but to struggle to make a living, and thus it would be impossible to spare a hand to help others because it may bring them into trouble. Therefore, standing by indifferently is their only choice。

他，戴着鸭舌帽，他，披着一件灰外套，好似一个老干部。他就是我的老师——应老师。还记得我们的师生之旅是从我小升初那年开始的。那时，我来到一个完全陌生的地方，难免有些生疏。可是他的课，我觉得格外亲切。

那是他上的英语课，在课堂上告诉了我们一个记单词的诀窍，就是用音标记单词，可是刚接触音标的我，根本搞不清楚哪几个字母读哪个音，使我的听写没的不堪入目，应老师见了，不由的开起了玩笑：“我可真是伤心啊！”他说完后没有马上走开，反而是帮我认真的分析起来，边说边让我作笔记。让我记清楚，下次听写不要那么多错，那么辛苦的订证。

窗外的鸟儿在欢唱，伴着我“唰唰”的写字声和应老师的讲解声。

“colour，green，smart……。”又是一次听写，可这次，我有了应老师亲身传授的听写宝典，终于破了我的记录，拿了听写的第一个一百分！拿着听写本时，我的耳边好似又响起应老师给我认真的讲解声。

应老师在我的脑海中不只是英语王，还是一个“百科全书”。

在上课的前几分钟，应老师总会来和我们“谈谈人生”，“八婆八婆”。就拿最近几次的英语课来说说吧。

I am writing toshare my ideas about our English class. Now, our main material in the class isthe textbook, which is reasonable. But I think we can get some other resources,such as English magazines, songs, movies and so on. We can learn the basicknowledge from out textbook, and get some more from other materials. Our English teacher, Ms Huang, came to our school in 1980. She has been an English teacher for more than 30 years. She works hard and has been a model teacher for many years.

She is kind and friendly to us after class, but She is rather strict with us in class. She always encourages us to speak and read more English. She often says,"Practice makes perfect." She is good at teaching and tries her best to make every lesson lively and interesting. She often gives us slide shows, teaches us English songs and helps us to put on short English plays. She is not only our teacher but also our friend. We all respect and love her.

Tomorrow she is going to attend an important meeting, at which she will be given a medal for her advanced deeds.

黄老师是我们的英语老师，她1980年来到我们学校，已经当了30多年的英语老师。她工作努力，多年来一直是模范教师。
