那时，厦门大学在与之隔海相望的龙海市设立了分校，什么校办工厂和低年级部，全部搬到对岸去，两地开航高速快艇，来往只须十分钟，通过水路把两校联在一起。

厦门岛的污染一直是最令人头痛的事，不过不要紧，将来有法子的。在将来工厂被搬出了岛外，平均安置在海沧、杏林、集美和同安。在郊区地方大、树木多、污水处理又好，污染很难扩大。厦门的早晨如果少了忙碌紧张的上班族，那气氛会舒缓很多，工厂腾出来的空地就可以修建度假村，把厦门建成一个休闲渡假的城市。

关于建设厦门海湾型城市的畅想再写十面也写不完，因笔墨有限，暂写到这里，以后有机会再谈。

在祖国的东南沿海，镶嵌着一颗璀璨的明珠——美丽的厦门鼓浪屿。

今年寒假，爸爸、妈妈带我来到了厦门。刚到，我们还来不及住下，就迫不及待地直奔海滨码头观赏大海。啊!鼓浪屿的景色美极了。碧绿的海水将厦门和鼓浪屿分成两部分。隔海望去，坐落在大海中的鼓浪屿犹如一座海上公园，山青水秀，美不胜收!竖立在那波涛汹涌的海边上的民族英雄郑成功的巨型石雕像引人注目。海面上，游船画舫，轮渡汽艇，穿梭往来，一片繁忙。我们乘上轮渡，伴随着汽笛的长鸣，不一会儿就登上了鼓浪屿。这里一派南国风光，那椰树宛如太阳伞一般，还有那高雅华贵的杜鹃花，香气扑鼻的茶花，娇艳无比的美人蕉，高大青翠的榕树，以及各种叫不上名的草木花卉，把鼓浪屿装扮得那样美丽、那样迷人。走在岛上的小路上，看不到任何车辆，听不见都市的喧闹，我仿佛走进了世外桃源，置身于花的世界、绿的海洋之中。岛上的建筑别具一格，那一座座风格各宜，千姿百态的小别墅点缀在鲜花绿树中，使鼓浪屿更加诱人!

接着我们来到了岛上著名的郑成功博物馆，博物馆由郑成功雕像，家世，战争时所用的武器盔甲，及他的生平事迹组成。从父亲口中我了解到郑成功收复台湾共用了14年。沿着海滨小道我们来到了钢琴博物馆。耳边不时传来悦耳动听的钢琴声，一架架不同年代，不同形状的钢琴，或庞大、或娇小、或华贵、或简朴，仿佛在无声的诉说着钢琴的成长历史!

我们漫步来到海边。那一望无垠的大海，仿佛水天相接的地方才是尽头。海岸边的礁石巨大无比，形态各异。满身遍布蜂窝状的斑点，静静地卧在那里，仿佛是鼓浪屿最忠诚的卫士。 海风阵阵袭来，给人带来丝丝凉意，海浪冲向海滩，欢快地拍打着巨大的礁石，在沙滩上留下了一道道银色的浪花。 前来旅游的人们，在大海的怀抱中尽情地玩耍着，嬉戏着，到处是一片欢声笑语。我也被这气氛感染了，迫不及待的脱去鞋子，挽上裤腿，跟着其他前来旅游的人们一同在海滩边嬉戏。

厦门的夜晚，是多么的热闹。

小巷子里，各种声音在那里游荡：有小贩的吆喝声、聚会的说话声、吵架的吼叫声……各种声音交织在一起，如同一首欢快的曲子。接下来，让人垂涎三尺的香味也跟来了，有烤肉的香味、水果的香味、炒面的香味……如果我在那里的话，一定会马上挑个小吃店光顾的。

International Womens Day (8 March) is an occasion marked by womens groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

International Womens Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society on an equal footing with men. 1909

In accordance with a declaration by the Socialist Party of America, the first National Womans Day was observed across the United States on 28 February. Women continued to celebrate it on the last Sunday of that month through 1913.

1910

The Socialist International, meeting in Copenhagen, established a Womens Day, international in character, to honour the movement for womens rights and to assist in achieving universal suffrage for women. The proposal was greeted with unanimous approval by the conference of over 100 women from 17 countries, which included the first three women elected to the Finnish parliament. No fixed date was selected for the observance.

1911

As a result of the decision taken at Copenhagen the previous year, International Womens Day was marked for the first time (19 March) in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland, where more than one million women and men attended rallies. In addition to the right to vote and to hold public office, they demanded the right to work, to vocational training and to an end to discrimination on the job.

Less than a week later, on 25 March, the tragic Triangle Fire in New York City took the lives of more than 140 working girls, most of them Italian and Jewish immigrants. 1913-1914

As part of the peace movement brewing on the eve of World War I, Russian women observed their first International Womens Day on the last Sunday in February 1913. 1917

With 2 million Russian soldiers dead in the war, Russian women again chose the last Sunday in February to strike for "bread and peace". Political leaders opposed the timing of the strike, but the women went on anyway. The rest is history: Four days later the Czar was forced to abdicate and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote. That historic Sunday fell on 23 February on the Julian calendar then in use in Russia, but on 8 March on the Gregorian calendar in use elsewhere.

Since those early years, International Womens Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike. The Role of the United Nations

Few causes promoted by the United Nations have generated more intense and widespread support than the campaign to promote and protect the equal rights of women. The Charter of the United Nations, signed in San Francisco in 1945, was the first international agreement to proclaim gender equality as a fundamental human right. Since then, the Organization has helped create a historic legacy of internationally agreed strategies, standards, programmes and goals to advance the status of women worldwide.

Over the years, United Nations action for the advancement of women has taken four clear directions: promotion of legal measures; mobilization of public opinion and international action; training and research, including the compilation of gender desegregated statistics; and direct assistance to disadvantaged groups. 鸟儿总是清晨第一个起床说早上好的。鸟儿也是第一个看见初阳的。

我平时不会跟鸟儿比谁先起床，但这几天我跟小鸟比了几遭。因为我得早是为了早一点到鼓浪屿。

我们达上了第一班到鼓浪屿的船。

初阳轻轻照拂这海平面，海水又荡漾着，银光闪闪。我们站在船尾欣赏着晨景，海风轻轻抚过你的脸颊，这何尝不是一种享受?

虽然这是享受生活，但我可不想长久享受这种生活，我想到真真的沙滩去享受这种生活。船还没停稳我就迫不及待地在船门口站着了，我以为我们一到目的地就会直奔沙滩，但我却大错特错，大人们对沙滩游泳不感兴趣，偏偏要参观完景观才肯带我们去沙滩游泳。

好不容易到了沙滩，放眼望去沙滩看起来还挺惬意的，但你走进了一看，大失所望——海面上居然还漂浮着垃圾，树枝、树叶、塑料。甚至我还看见了打碎了的陶瓷碗。与我想象的大海大不相同，梦境被打碎来了，就只有面对这大海了，我有点垂头丧气地走在沙滩上。忽然，我眼睛的余光在不经意间看见了一块岩石上有东西在动，我东瞅瞅西瞧瞧才发现这是小螃蟹。太不可思议了，这螃蟹居然这么小~很小很小，和小蜘蛛差不多，不对，应该比小蜘蛛小一点。很快，我对螃蟹没什么兴趣了。

因为正赶上退潮，沙滩上就有小贝壳螺丝什么的，我们就开始捡贝壳、螺丝了……

捡的有大部分都是活的，活的你要着还没走出鼓浪屿大门就已经死了。就随便挑了几个漂亮的贝壳放在口袋里。

夕阳西下，这天很快就过去了，明天又将有明天旅程。再见!

厦门鼓浪屿是中国一座知名的小岛，这个暑假我们一家三口便“飞”到了厦门，坐船去鼓浪屿岛。

在船上，远远望去，一个草木葱翠的大盆景渐渐映入眼帘，那就是鼓浪屿。船靠岸了，大批大批的人群从不同的船上蜂拥而出，鼓浪屿果然名不虚传。一路上我们有说有笑，不知不觉的就到了海边。站在沙滩之上，享受着大浪带给你的快乐，一阵阵凉风轻轻掠过，让我顿觉一阵阵的惬意和舒畅。这里没有烦恼，只有笑声和快乐。

接着，我们又来到了百鸟园看孔雀。在这里，我和一只孔雀结下了不解之缘。我一来到百鸟园，就看到一只羽毛亮晶晶的孔雀目不转睛的盯着我，我觉得不妙，就赶快跑到爸爸那边去，没想到那只孔雀也迈开大步向我奔去，一想到孔雀那尖尖长长的嘴我就开始害怕了，生怕他啄到我的脚。“爸爸!”我边喊边叫。“快喂食物给它。”爸爸说。我这才猛然想起我手上一直拿着面包呢!我把面包喂给了孔雀，他看了看我好像在跟我说谢谢，就低头专心啄起面包了。哈，真是一只贪吃的孔雀。

人都说“不登日光岩，不算到厦门”，日光岩矗立在92。68米的高处，我们一行人沿着蜿蜒的“s”型小道踱步而上，越到上面就越窄，忽然就只能容一人全身而过了。我好奇地挤过这个通道后，眼前豁然开朗，顿觉“山穷水尽疑无路，柳暗花明又一村”：远眺前方，海对岸的厦门城遥相呼应;俯视四周，风格迥异、中西合璧的万国建筑尽收眼底;近看脚下，一座郑成功铜像赫然在目，挺拔伟岸的身姿向世界宣扬英雄的万丈豪气!

鼓浪屿岛上没有机动车，是一座难得的环保小岛。我们沿着岛上的小路随意踱步，之后游览了亭台楼榭与远处的山水互相衬托浑然一体的菽庄花园，还有象征中西建筑文化融为一体的经典之作“海天堂构“，更有象征佛教文化的”三一堂“——岛上的各种特产也让我回味无穷：有酸酸甜甜的百香果、开胃的金包银包，酥酥的黄金香肉松……

鼓浪屿，充满着神秘而美丽的海岛明珠，我相信将会有越来越多的世界各国人民爱上她!

Gulangyu---- a fairyland in the world As May Day is coming, many people plan a visit to Gulangyu, a beautiful island in Xiamen. Gulangyu is an island of Xiamen, which is surrounded by the blue sea. It’s like a garden on the water. You can go there by ship/sea. On the island, cars, buses and bikes are not permitted there. It is so quiet that wherever you go, you can hear the sound of playing the piano. As a result of this, it is called “ the island of music”.

(Thus/ Therefore) The Sunshine Rock is/lies on the highest place of the island. Standing on the top of it, you can enjoy/catch sight of the beautiful scenery of the whole Xiamen and other islands. If you want to know more about Xiamen’s history and changes, you can visit Xiamen Museum, which will make you understand Xiamen better. Such is Gulangyu, a fairyland in the world.
