aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

extent, depriving them of independence and freedom by keeping them around

parents all the time.

Some people applaud this phenomenon, suggesting that kids’ safety is the

most important. Thus, they’d better not enter the hazardous society without

supervision unless they become adults. From my point of view, some of their

opinion is correct but keeping children away from independence is a completely

erroneous decision. The reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, “locking kids” may hinder their healthy growth, both

mentally and physically. The kids who are locked may have heavy reliance on

their parents, as their comprehensive skills such as communication skills or

cooperative spirit being prevented from developing.

Secondly, what these parents fail to see is the fact that the crime rate

and accidents aren’t on a rapid rise. It is the abuse of mass media that make

crimes and violence more scary. The parents, who love their kids so much, are

completely forced to live under the illusion that our society is full of riots

or threats of accidents. Thus, kids can be allowed to have more freedom such as

walking to school by himself, for instance.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that

kids should be given more freedom by parents’ effort. At the same time, parents

should take many factors into consideration such as the time restriction for

children and the evaluation to kids’ maturity and capability. Only then can they

enjoy a safe and meaningful childhood.

There are four people in my family， my father， my mother， my sister and me. My father likes reading. My mother likes cooking. They both work in Leliu. They always go to work by car. They work hard.

书本是我最喜欢的东西。儿时的一张兴趣调查表引起了我的注意。那是一张20xx年的表，在我7岁时，在“最爱的玩具”一栏里写着“书”这让我想起了往事。

疼死我了。骑车原来没有想象中的那么简单呀，还是还是不学了吧！妈妈看出我的心思，怎么？摔一次跤就有了让你退出不想学的意思了！这可不行！坚持一下吧！骑自行车时，别光顾着看着脚下，你要注视着前方，稳住自行车，保持平衡，踏板要啃稳听了妈妈的话，我又重拴信心继续，这一次，有了妈妈的的指点，嘿，还真容易多了，妈妈帮我扶着车尾，掌握好平衡，骑了一会儿

妈妈开心地说：女儿，看后面，原来妈妈已经离我很远了，原来妈妈没有一直跟上来，我学会了！耶！我学会了！我兴奋地大叫着。

虽然第一次骑车，让我尝到了许多的苦头，不过，比起学会后的喜悦，这点苦头双算得上什么呢？

今年暑假我们一家人回到我的故乡——广西梧州的一个小县。故乡四周有好几汪绿水萦绕，高耸入云的山峰直把人看得眼花缭乱，不远处传来鸟的鸣叫声和溪水的急流声。

我们要走一条蜿蜒又泥泞的山路，足足走了35分钟，累得我们气喘吁吁，休息了一会儿，我们便出发了，终于到了我们梦寐以求的地方——婆婆家。婆婆见到我们真是开心得不得了，她和爸爸妈妈聊聊天，我则和表妹一起去外面玩，表妹轻轻地牵着我的手去了一棵大樟树旁，她让我站着别动，自己去找同伴来。说完，她撒腿就跑。

四周无人，静悄悄的，风吹过树叶，沙沙作响，我的心里有一种奇妙的感觉。这棵樟树体形庞大，叶子茂盛，还有两个树洞，树洞可以相通，它的树杆粗得至少要十个小朋友才能把它围起。樟树旁还有一条小溪，小溪清澈见底，溪边有几个人在洗衣。

在夏天这么炎热的天气里，孩子们喜欢在树底下捉迷藏，我也不例外！我和表妹也玩躲猫猫，还有一些顽皮的小孩子扒光了衣服在河里游泳嬉戏。到了晚上，樟树下就更热闹非凡了。有的在乘凉；有的在讲故事；有的也出来散散步。

现在回城市了，但那个樟树底下的故事还在持续着……

昨天下午，我和五个人在踢足球。

我们分两组，我跟的是一个又高又胖的和一个比我高几厘米的人。第一局开始了，我的那组先阻拦他们那队的进球，以免让他们进球。我们的规则：先一个人踢，一个人防，然后下面两次是防守队员，踢的人每人踢一次。

开始踢球了！首先我们队防。那个较高的人过来防，嘴中还念念有词。球射了过来，但没有射到门，我的心很高兴，心想：太差了！要是我射，我一定能射中！

现在应该防下一个人了！我站在右边，又高又胖的站左边，较高的站在前面，而且是中间，排成了倒“V”字形阵。他们队的一个人飞脚一踢，前面那个人给他一个“大脚”，把球踢得有6米远！害得一个慢跑过去把球踢回来。

还有一球踢完后，我们队就开始踢球。较高的人先踢。他用力一踢，球破门而入。“1：0”我高兴地喊着。然后，我跑到有球的地方，把球抱了回来，这时那个很胖的人悄悄地对我说：“踢他左边！”可我不小心踢到右边，没有破门，反而被人接住了。到最后，“压轴”人踢，他用他最大的力量往前一踢，破门而入，他高兴地把手展开，在草地上兴奋地跑来跑去，1比0转眼间变成2比0。又到我们防了，变成了又高又胖的人防。这时，球飞过来，打到杆了，他笑得不得了。

这一局是4比1，他们队输了。到了第二局，他们输得落花流水，踢了个惨败，我们高兴得不亦乐乎。
