Traditionally, the Laba rice porridge is the most important element of the festival. Generally, the porridge contains eight ingredients which can include glutinous rice, red beans, millet, Chinese sorghum, peas, dried lotus seeds and some other ingredients, such as dried dates, chestnut meat, walnut meat, almond, peanut, etc. The porridge must be boiled for many hours and then offered as a sacrifice to the ancestors. This must be done before noontime. Also, it is tradition that family members eat the porridge together. Then they leave some as a symbol of hope for a good harvest the coming year.

First of all,I need to greatly improve my English in this semaster,for I’m already in Junior 2 now,and there’s no time to waste.

I’m really not good at English,and I think there’s a long road ahead of me.I am thinking about taking a TOEFL course on weekends to prepare for entering college.Besides,I need to learn something from my life,for example,I can read some kind of English books,watch some Enghlish movies etc.

放寒假了!终于迎来了期盼已久的滑雪了!

进了滑雪场，我高兴地蹦蹦跳跳，像捧宝贝似的捧起一堆雪，又轻轻地放下它。可高兴了!

换上了装备，我将雪鞋紧紧的卡在了滑雪板上，之后便笨拙的滑向了扶梯。到了山顶，我闭着眼睛“冲”下了山，中间一直挺好，让我不敢相信第一次滑就这么好，太令人开心了。但快到底时我急了，因为我不知道刹车，底下又是一个拐弯，使我急得直冒冷汗，果然，不出我所料，我摔了一个大跟头。于是我细细观察别人怎么做，发现要用大大的内八字来降低速度。所以我便大胆尝试，虽然也摔过，很疼，全身骨头要散架了，但我一直坚持，虽然成功了一些，只是我骄傲了，滑的时候用滑雪杖来降低速度，搞得我直接脱离了雪板，差点滚了下去，多亏了管理员拉住我才安全，真是谢天谢地。之后我便吸取了教训，一丝不苟的练习，终于一点一点成功了。我高兴极了又滑上滑下，好快活!后来知道了诀窍便不再一路大内八，只是在快到终点时轻轻一个小内八，潇洒一转，滑雪杖一钉，便轻轻松松停下了，真是功夫不负有心人啊!此时我内心的喜悦无法用语言形容。我一次滑得比一次好。真令人开心!

令人快乐的滑雪虽然结束了，但我成功的喜悦却没有消失，这让我明白：成功需要努力的道理。我一定要更加努力，加油!

一个寒假又过去了，在这个短暂的寒假里，我干了很多保，我很开心。

整个寒假，我有七天是在外婆家度过的。在外婆家的日子真的是无忧无虑，每天早上也不用早起，一直赖在床上，觉得肚子饿了熬不住了，再爬起来，早饭、中饭，管它三七二十一，都当一顿吃了。下午做完作业，拉完小提琴，就使劲地玩，再说童年的时光多宝贵，寒假的时光也多宝贵呀!玩也是个不错的写作素材哦!晚上，就是我的自由时间了，不过我一般喜欢拉小提琴，因为这段时间爸爸不会要求我拉某一道曲子，我就随自己的兴致拉，这也是很好玩的事情哟!

I remember it like yesterday.We were all waiting patiently for my father to come home from the race track.He promised me and my sister that if he won,he would take us all to Rye Playland.

As it’s known to all, the Spring Festival is the mostimportant in winter holiday that would occupy much time to celebrate it.Therefore, I finished my homework first, so that it won’t bother my enjoymentduring the festival. I finished my home work in one week. And I went shoppingwith my parents. We bought a lot of things, especially snacks and fruits. Then,it was the Spring Festival. We had a big dinner on the New Year’s Eve. Myparents prepared the big dinner and I could only act as assistant. The dinnerwas so delicious that I ate so full. In the next several days, my parents and Ivisited our relatives and friends or they visited us. Sometimes, we went outfor fun together. We children were always the most excited. Now, holiday iscoming to the end and I will go to school soon. I am so happy that I have awonderful winter holiday.

这是我今年在外公家的花坛里看到它时发出的由衷感叹。
