Once， when I was a teenager， my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. Finally， there was only one family between us and the ticket counter.

This family made a big impression on me. There were eight children， all probably under the age of 12. You could tell they didnt have a lot of money.

Their clothes were not expensive， but they were clean. The children were well-behaved， all of them standing in line， two-by-two behind their parents， holding hands. They were excitedly jabbering about the clowns， elephants， and other acts they would see that night.

One could sense they had never been to the circus before. It promised to be a highlight of their young lives. The father and mother were at the head of the pack， standing proud as could be.

The mother was holding her husbands hand， looking up at him as if to say， "Youre my knight in shining armor."

He was smiling and basking in pride， looking back at her as if to reply， "You got that right."

每个人对成长都有不同的看法，有的认为成长需要快乐，需要成功，而我认为挫折才是成长最好的动力。不经历风雨，怎么见彩虹？

小时候，父母很宠我，我摔了一跤，都是爸妈扶起来的，不知道痛的滋味。

五年级，有一次校外的50米短跑比赛，妈妈替我报了名。我漫不经心地想：只要收紧小腿跑，很快的没有做任何训练，我在预赛中跑了8秒5，被淘汰了。这使我十分伤心，平时的我从来没受过什么失败，今天却跑了个倒数第二。回到家我躺在床上，泪花不受控制地流了下来。

虽然失败了，但这件事给我留下了很深的印象，我主动提出要参加两个月后的男孩50米比赛。我天天都在跑步，但在迷你赛中还是输了。我皱着眉头说：我练得不够吗？ 成绩已经比第一次的预赛好了很多，但还是一个没脸见人的烂成绩。

我开始尝试新的方法，练习基本功、高抬腿，我家门口时常会传出嘿嘿的呼气声。每天训练完我都插着腰，看一看秒表，呵，今天又多做了四个！

预赛和迷你赛的挫折成了我的动力，我更加坚定了要拿个好成绩的目标。

正式比赛那天，对手个个都非常结实，一个摩拳擦掌；另一个把腿一抬一放；还有一个吐着舌头，好像没有把握。这是四个人的决赛。

预备。站在起点线旁的裁判高声喊着，摁动了扳机，发令枪嘣的一声打响了。我反应快，第一个冲出起跑线，不顾一切地向前冲。在我前面没有任何人，我用舌头舔了下上嘴唇：我赢定了！这时一个瘦骨嶙峋的比我高一个头的男孩超过了我。这次我一定要赢！我把头尽量往前伸，撒开腿猛跑，我赶上了他，最先到达终点。

成长是需要挫折的，一直顺水行舟其实不好。只有学会把挫折当作一种动力，你才能成功。挫折虽然使你摔倒，但它是你站起来后最好的动力！

美德，仿佛就是一颗美丽的宝石。在人们的朴实下，显得更加华丽、宝贵。美德，它陪伴着我度过了我最美好的童年，我学会了：敬老爱幼、助人为乐、拾金不昧等中华民族优良的品德。每当我望着那美妙的夕阳时，我做过的好事一一浮现，心里面美滋滋的。然而，有一件事我至今仍然记忆犹新。

那是一个雨后的早晨，来到公园，柳树叶上布满了晶莹的水珠。一阵微风吹过，树上的水珠纷纷落下，再加上小鸟美妙绝伦的歌声，那景象美极了!我正陶醉在这自然的交响乐中，只听一声“唉哟!”让我从那儿又回到了现在。我心想：怎么回事?是不是发生了什么事?一连串的问题在我的脑海中徘徊，为了满足我的好奇心，我便向发出声音的地方出发。

我来到了那里，只见一位头发花白的老奶奶坐在地上，看到这情景我心想：一定是这位老奶奶摔倒了，我得赶快把她扶起来。于是，我以不及掩耳盗铃之速扶起了老奶奶。老奶奶拍了拍我的肩膀，笑着说：“好孩子，谢谢你。不过你能帮我找孙女吗?我们刚才走散了。”老奶奶说到她孙女时，那神情十分激动。我决定帮助老奶奶，便爽快地答应了。“老奶奶，您孙女在哪儿和您走散的呢?”我开始慢慢地向老奶奶了解情况。“这……这个嘛……”，老奶奶欲言又止，“我记性不好……给忘了，这可怎么办?”我听了，用手托住了脑袋，若有所思的想着。

没过一会儿，一阵清脆的狗叫声吸引了我的注意，我一回头被眼前的景象惊呆了!老奶奶的怀中抱着一只活泼可爱的小白狗，小白狗也亲切地依偎着老奶奶。老奶奶笑着摸了摸它的头，说：“你啊你，跑哪儿去了，我可急死了!”“老奶奶，这是?”我疑惑不解的问。老奶奶满面笑容的对我说：“这，就是我的孙女。我是在散步时发现的它，当时觉得可怜就抱回了家，没想到，这小家伙与我越来越亲近，我便认它做孙女。要知道，我一个人在这有多寂寞呀，要不是它，这些年我可真不知道该怎么办。”我顿时对这位老奶奶肃然起敬，佩服她的行为、也同情她的寂寞。看着老奶奶远去的背影，我心中久久不能平静。

中华美德真是博大精深，它将在我以后的成长过程提醒、激励我。美德伴我成长，它将成为我永远的朋友!

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

The summer vacation had come round again. I was happy that I could forget about school at least for a while. Lest I fool around all through this summer vacation, I made a plan as to how to spend it. First, I thought I should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that I could have a better understanding of them. Then I thought I should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. It stood to reason that with such a good plan I should make the best of my vacation time. I did, because I lived up to what I had planned.

I went Chong Qing in July 22.It is a city which was built near mountains. So people call it Mountain City. In Chong Qing,I went to the Red Stone Center, to see the places which the prisoners lived in the past. It is a terrible and awful trip. There are a lot of dogs, and soldiers with guns near the prisons. And most of the prisons are good, they didnt want to tell the bad people where the other people were. They lived in very small houses. No good food to eat, no good water to drink.They had only twenty minutes to stay out side per day but they still said nothing. I think they are the heros in that century. I will follow their spirit.
