他是村里唯一一个订纸报的“怪人”，的确很难想象一个农村的土老帽，在闲暇时，不是举着烟袋倚在墙边慵懒地晒着太阳，而是双手举着报认真阅读。尽管那时候并不富裕，日子甚至有点拮据，他依然坚持订画报、新闻报纸、杂志等，从未间断。除了自己读书看报，他鼓励孩子们参加知识竞赛，鼓励他们去做任何正确善良的事。妈妈总是回忆：“那时的白纸很贵很稀缺，更别提书了。连肉都吃不上的日子里，炕上总是有报纸和新订的书。”那两个满满的大书柜，装着满满的书以及——父亲对孩子深沉的爱…。

但唯一叫人可惜的是，彩虹并没有完全把她的美丽展现出来。彩虹的一边被灰云遮得迷迷糊糊了。“可恶！”心里暗说一句。“好好的，怎么就剩一半咧？”突然我瞬间打开我脑海中的记忆匣子，记起了小时候看见的彩虹也是这样子的呢！要不，是遮住了彩虹的1/4，要不，就是只能看见一半，总不能完完整整的。我苦恼着。还有的是，这边乌云盖天，彩虹只见一半的残缺画面，另一边却有阳光和曦地照耀着，温暖且温馨。
