Hoping to excite student interest in our reading center, I asked each teacher to write a New Year‘s resolution on a special form and send it to me.

After I posted the resolutions on the bulletin board in the reading center, one young teacher stopped by, looked at them for a few minutes, and then left abruptly. Passing two teachers on their way in, she stormed, "My resolution isn‘t posted - and mine was one of the first ones in!" I couldn‘t help but overhear, and the tone of her voice sent me flying to my desk in search of a misplaced resolution.

Looking rapidly through stacks of papers, I uncovered hers. It read, "I resolve not to let little things upset me. "

My hometown is in Gansu Lixian, there are many mountains.

In the distance, the mountains look like a green planet surrounded by forests. The stone on the mountain dressed the mountain as a world of stone.

The trees grow more luxuriantly in summer and dress up as green cashmere. The mountain terraces like people walking the steps, also like the mountains in Grandpa smile.

The mountain became a yellow world in autumn, and the fruits and crops were ripe, and the mountain was like a magician, constantly changing crops and fruits for human beings.

In winter the mountains covered with a white dress, like an angel, in the fog, the mountains like a bottomless mountain, no matter how you cant see the mountain bottom.

This is the mountain of my hometown all the year round, I love it.

Chinese new year is a chinese traditional festival. We also call it the spring festival. it is on lunar january 1st.

On new year’s eve, all the people sit around the desk and have a big family dinner. there are some vegetables, some fish, some meat, some fruits and some drink likejuice, coke, pepsi and some nice wine. overall, this is a good and delicious dinner. after dinner, we always watch tv new year progammes. we have a wonderful evening on new year’s eve.

On the first day of the spring festival, most of people get up early and say “happy new year” to each other. for breakfast, people often eat dumplings and baozi. after breakfast, people often make many delicious foods, and children often play cards, computer games and fireworks. on the second and third day, we visit friends and relatives.

Everybody is busy on chinese new year, and everyone is happy, too.
