袁隆平(生于九月71930)是中国农业科学家和教育家，被称为在上世纪70年代开发第一个杂交水稻品种。他的“杂交水稻”已经在国家在非洲、美国和亚洲数十家长大，在大饥荒危险地区提供了稳定的食物来源。

袁先生获得国家最高科学技术奖的2000的中国，沃尔夫奖

2004、世界粮食奖。他目前是中国国家杂交水稻研发中心总干事并被任命为湖南农业大学的教授，他是中国科学院我的工程的一员，美国美国国家科学院外籍院士(2006)和2006届全国政协委员。
