Teacher is a great job in most students’ eyes. When they are asked what

they want to be in the future, most will say they want to be a teacher and make

When memory began for me, my grandfather was past sixty-a great tall man

flattened tip as a small child when he fell down and stepped on his nose.

The little marks of laughter at the corners of his eyes were the prodnct of

a kindly and humorous nature. The years of work which had bent his shoulders had

never dulled his humour nor his love of a joke.

Everywhere he went, "Gramp" made friends easily. At the end of half an hour

you felt you had known him all your life. I soon learned that he hated to give

orders , but that when he had to, he tried to make his orders sound like

suggestions.

One July morning, as he was leaving to go to the cornfield, he said :

"Edwin, you can pick up the potatoes in the field today if you want to do that.

Last years Spring Festival is special. My uncle and my aunt came back from

Shanghai. My family were very happy to spend the Spring Festival with them. And

On New Years Eve，my father and my uncle talked about their work together.

My mum did some cooking with my aunt. Grandparents and I watched the New Year TV

Last week, my friends asked me to spend the weekend in the house that near

春节是我国最隆重的传统节日。进入腊月，大人们就忙碌着准备过年的东西。他们必须在农历新年之前准备好吃的、穿的、喝的、用的，好在新年时显出万象更新的气氛。孩子们也放假了，有足够的时间去买零食、花炮与心幕已久的玩具。

我家的过春节也差不多是这样。过了小年，我们就开始买年货与新衣服了。

我与妈妈一起去买东西，我们来到商场，那里人山人海，都在买年货。而且不论价钱贵贱，也不论东西多少，多多益善，好像钱是大风刮来的似的。

春节一到，家家都会贴春联，贴门神，春联的图案有的是“福”字，有的画一条鱼。有些人会把“福”字贴倒了，寓意“福”到你家了，贴“鱼”就是年年有余的意思。贴门神则是有个传说的：从前有个国王，他每天都会做噩梦，后来，有位画家来了，他说：“我有办法让你做美梦，只要您等几天，然后贴幅画就行。”几天后，画家真的来贴画了，国王说：“只是个将军的画啊，有用吗？”画家说有用。自从贴了这个将军的画，他再也没做噩梦了。不过将军的这个名字最后改为了门神。

春节一到，我都会有好多压岁钱，因为爷爷、奶奶、爸爸和妈妈都会给我压岁钱。这个压岁钱也有一个故事，从前有只怪兽叫祟，每到十一月初三都会出来摸小孩子的头，一摸就生病，后来有个农民让孩子拿着铜钱睡觉，那个孩子拿了一个红袋子把铜钱放进去再拿出来，放进去再拿出来，这样玩着玩着，他玩累了就睡着了，这时候祟出来了，他要摸那个孩子的时候发现有个红袋子，就吓得逃跑了。从此，过年的时候，给小孩子发压岁钱的习俗就传下来了。

春节真是个好节日，我很喜欢它。

The spring festival is the chief holiday in china while christmas is the most important redletter day in the western world。

the spring festival and christmas have much in common. Both are prepared hefiorehand to create a joyous atmosphere; both offer a family reunion with a square feast: and both satisfy the children with new clothes, lovely presents and delicious food. However, the chinese spring festival has no religious background while christmas has something to do with god and there is santa claus with white heard to bring children presents. The westerners send each other christmas cards for greetings while the chinese people pay a call on each other。

nowadays, some of the chinese youth has begun to celebrate christmas, following the example of the westerners. Perhaps they do so just for fun and out of curiosity。

In my memory, a lot of things happened in the Spring Festival last year, but the happiest thing for me was to put up fireworks and watch the Spring Festival Gala.

On the thirty night of the year, after our family had finished the dinner, I could not wait to wait in front of the TV set, waiting for the start of the Spring Festival Gala. Eight oclock arrived at the end of the party. I cant keep my eyes on the TV, and I dont want to leave half a step, and Im afraid to miss a good program. The program of the Spring Festival Gala is quite a lot: there are cross talk, there is a little piece, and the singing and dancing acrobatics show, the most magical thing is magic and face change. Show than a fun, than a wonderful, we can sometimes be absorbed in one family, sometimes uproarious.

This night, I was so excited that I didnt sleep well overnight. How I wish the Spring Festival of 20XX came quickly, so that I could look at the Spring Festival Gala and fireworks as happy as last year.
