《复活》中主人公聂赫留朵夫就是一个自私的人。他毫无顾及地利用玛丝洛娃对他朦胧而又纯洁的爱意，无情无义地诱奸并随即抛弃了她。聂赫留朵夫满足了自己的兽性的欲望，却将终身的痛苦留给了年轻而又无助的玛丝洛娃。最终，玛丝洛娃因不幸怀孕而被聂赫留朵夫的两个姑妈赶了出去，从此，走上了出卖肉体的悲惨的人生之路。

好在聂赫留朵夫心灵中还保留着那片圣洁的家园，精神的人还能苏醒于他的心间，使他的人性得到“复活”。他开始用他的行动为他的“兽性的人”赎罪。他抛弃了衣食无忧的贵族生活，将自己所继承的土地分给了农民，他为无辜服刑的人奔走呼号，想方设法为玛丝洛娃争取无罪释放。虽然，他为玛丝洛娃所作出的努力没有得到圆满成功，玛丝洛娃最终还是被判苦役，后改成流放。但他的努力显然赢得了玛丝洛娃的原谅与认可。也正是对他这种行为的认可，使玛丝洛娃没有接受聂赫留夫的爱，因为“她爱他，认为如果同他结合，就会毁掉他的一生，而她跟西蒙松一起走了，就使他完全解脱了。”

无疑，《复活》让我们读到了一个感人肺腑的爱情故事，更让我们看到了“人性的复活”是如此之不易。

世界充满诱惑。面对诱惑，我们也许真得应该做一个“精神的人”，而将“兽性的人”囚牢在人心的深处，永远不将之释放。尽管，这或许是一种长期的痛苦!然而，我们应该有这种作出牺牲的勇气!

读书，自古以来都是极其重要的。在“商工农士"中“士”更是高居首位，毫不夸张地说，读书犹如发扬艰苦奋斗精神一般，无论什么时代，无论什么社会都不会过时。
