The Spring Festival，Chinese New Year，is the most important festival for all of us. All family members get together on New YearEve to have a big meal.At the same time，everyone celebrates to each other.At about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers.The whole sky is lighted brightly. On the first early moring of one year，many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door. Some houses windows are sticked on red paper cutlings.

Mr. Louis is my Chinese teacher. She was of medium height, slender, with two eyebrows on her lanky face, a pair of squinting eyes, and a pair of pink glasses on her high nose, about thirty years old. Her speech was vivid and vivid in class, her tone was cadenced and her emotions were real. People are kind and strict.

The characteristics of formal writing

1.名词化趋势

I do not eat much.-->I am a light eater.

The clock on the desk reminds me of time.-->I put a clock on the desk as a reminder of time.

注意:名词化趋势的句子当然还有动词, 目的是尽量把表达句子中心意思的那个词汇用名词表达.符合英文的习惯.

2.无灵主语(区别于被动语态)

我们中文写作中,习惯以人做主语,而英文则相反,习惯以物做主格.

注意: 名词化趋势和无灵主语常常是相结合的.

Main features of English sentences:

1.长短句结合

Love is patient and kind. It is never jealous, boastful, proud or rude. It keeps no record of wrong that others do. It always protects, always fruits, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

一般来讲,总结性的句子应当使用短句,而说理的句子应用长句.

2.并列复合句

这种句子属于十分难写的句子,也举一个例子:

3.单一复合句

也就是我们常说的各种从句,不再举例.

6.倒装

(1)将一些否定性含义的副词和短语在句首,用倒装会使句子生色不少.

(2)为使描绘更加生动,与介词同形的副词可以移动到句首,而把主语放到谓语后面去.

四、插入语

插入语可以是一个小词,也可以是一个同谓语的形式.

1.先看一个小技巧：(对there be 句型均有效)

通俗的讲,在老外眼里,主语与谓语离的越远,句子的档次越高.

2.插入语后面再接上一个定语从句;

我将信将疑，把“下雨天，也是美好的”这句话琢磨了一个晚上。第二天，雨依然飘扬着，我试着换一个角度去看待雨，确实发现了与之前截然不同的景象，雨水在路上形成了千川百溪，别是一番风景，树木在这场洗礼中更加青翠了，人也在风雨中清爽了很多。我豁然开朗，原来，雨天也可以这么美好。

I’m sorry to know that you’re having such a bad time at the moment. The
