In the Warring States Period, a man in the state of Chu was offering a sacrifice(祭品) to his ancestors. After the ceremony, the man gave a beaker of wine to his servants.

The servants thought that there was not enought wine for all of them, and decided to each draw a picture of snake; the one who finished the picture first would get the wine.

One of them drew very rapidly. Seeing that the others were still busy drawing, he added feet to the snake.

At this moment, another man finished, snatched the beaker(烧杯，大口杯) and drank the wine, saying,"A snake doesnt have feet. How can you add feet to a snake?"

This idiom refers to ruining a venture by doing unnecessary and surplus things.

“下雨啦！下雨啦！”蜻蜓哨兵贴着地面快速地飞行着，向动物们通报情况。

还在送信的乌龟邮递员看见下起了倾盆大雨，他焦急万分，甚至连壳上都冒出了一些冷汗：“雨水把我的信都给打湿了，这该怎么办呀！”已经飞到屋檐上的小黄鹂鸟提出了建议：“龟哥哥，你其实可以把信装进你的壳里，把它们捂干呀！”“有道理。”乌龟采纳了小黄鹂鸟给的建议，忙把信装进壳里，希望它们能早一点干。

蚯蚓太太又把包裹绑在自己的那肥胖的身体上，并开始发牢骚：“哎――！每次下雨都得搬家，真是烦死了！”她心烦意乱地说，“这一次的新家在往哪儿找啊！”和蔼可亲的大树爷爷对蚯蚓说：“到我这来吧，正好可以帮我松松土。”“那好吧。”蚯蚓太太无可奈何的说。她一扭一扭地朝她的新家走去。黄鹂鸟推推她身边熟睡的伙伴：“别睡了，醒醒吧！让我们一起欣赏这雨中的美景吧。”

鱼儿姐姐很高兴，当雨点落在水面上时，她就可以呼吸到更新鲜的空气了。

大雨就这样不停的下着，一直持续了四个小时。池塘的水漫上了堤坝，溪流变成了小河，花儿摇摆着身体，快乐的接受着春雨的滋润，小草也使劲地向上生长。

I was very interested in your advertisement in todays edition of The

Evening Post and I should like to apply to be a member of the Amazon Expedition

team.

I am twenty-three years old and have an honors degree in Botany from Bath

University. Since leaving university I have been working in a research

laboratory but my contract comes to an end in six weeks. I would particularly

like to join the expedition for the opportunity it would give me to study the

plant life of the area.

I enjoy several outdoor activities including rowing and rock climbing and I

consider myself to be both fit and healthy enough to undertake such an

expedition.

喜欢下雨天，喜欢带着耳机坐在空荡荡的屋子里享受着下雨。看见地上不停被溅起的水滴，心情也随着下雨而开心。似乎尘埃是世界并不属于你，心就随着雨滴轻轻地落下，溅起来，开起美丽的水花。然后再随着雨水流向幸福国度，就好像幸福在此时定格，再也不想回来。

一阵代表季节的风吹进房间，手里握着暖暖的茶杯，耳朵里听着美丽的音乐。整个人都似乎被雨天感染了，可以说是进入了梦中的童话，在最完美的世界里遨游，要珍惜那么美丽的时间，因为知道雨一停就会回到现实中间。可惜就算回来了，被雨水冲洗过的空气也会更加的纯洁。所以说：感激你，雨。喜欢下雨天。

喜欢下雨天，喜欢在雨天里听着雨滴落下的声音发呆，就算站在屋里，站在窗前，也爱这种感觉。不去联想压抑的生活，不去联想心情的忧郁，不会被那因为下雨而变得阴霾的天变得懒散。因为是在下雨天，冲刷过夏日闷热的下雨天，使人神情气爽的下雨天，过滤了每一个烦躁心得下雨天。

放下燥虑的心，放下承重的压力。望着窗外发呆时，请安静的听，除了雨水冲洗的声音以外，还有一颗早已被外界的复杂而覆盖的一颗纯洁的心。安静的听，那颗心，因为雨儿纯真的心。

Ive been a very good boy this year. I study hard and am nice to my

friends. I helped Mom and Dad decorate the Xmas tree. And I didnt fight with my

baby sis. So please put me on your list.

清晨，我被这嘀嗒嘀嗒的春雨给叫醒，我连忙拉开窗帘：“唉，这雨下得还挺大的，今天又得提前到校了，要不然学校门前又要堵车了。‘’我的心情一下子低落了许多。

我背着书包躲在妈妈的雨衣底下，由于手里捏着把雨伞，家里的钥匙也被我从手心底下给丢了，真倒霉。下课后，我站在教室的阳台上四处望了望，校园四处焕然一新，教学楼像刚洗过澡一样干净，花圃里的小草也变绿了，教室旁的银杏也特别亮丽。看到这一切，我的心情变得爽朗起来，在加上去科艺宫时还下着雨，我们大家三步并作两步地走，精神又提上来许多，特别有劲。

今天的春雨虽然下了一整天，给我带来了许多的不便，但它却给大地带来了欢乐。

天黑沉沉的压下来，四周一片安静，连树叶落下来的声音都 能听见。噢，开始下雨了。

“滴，滴，滴”好像水龙头还没关紧一样。渐渐地，渐渐地雨越下越大。这场音乐会开始了，“噼里啪啦”雷公公觉得雨还不够激烈，就把他非常爱惜的鼓给搬了出来，“轰隆隆，轰隆隆”……

天上雷电交加，人们有的收衣服，有的把窗关紧，有的如果出门就带着雨伞。瞧！雨伞现在有好多好多把，合起来像五彩缤纷的大蘑菇。

音乐会结束了，雨慢慢地、慢慢地停了。阳光出来了！小雨点还紧紧的拉着叶子姐姐不放，不肯掉下来。有的雨点像玩滑滑梯一样，已经掉了下来。万物苏醒了，空气格外清新，浓郁的味道真让人陶醉在这时。花朵好像吸收了力量，开得无比美丽，小草好像也吸收了力量，变得更加坚强，树抽出了更多嫩绿的枝条。

雨，让世界苏醒；雨，让世界变得生机勃勃；雨，让世界变得格外清香；雨……下雨天真好！

Dear Miss Brown,

I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you for caring me in the last

two years. During the days of being your student, I learn a lot. Firstly, your

I’m really miss you , we can’t see about three months . Are you OK? I hope you happy everyday.

We have eight classes everyday , and only two classes are not English , another classes is listening , reading , speaking and writing English . Some people think it is boring in the classes , but I think this is very enjoyable .

I love my life now . because I always feel fulfilled all day . I am so busy that I can’t play ping-pong . I think it is my desire to enjoy life.

Nowaday, The number of the traffic accidents has been growing in recent years. In 2004, up to 570,000 road accidents occurred in China, which claimed a total of 109,000 lives. The situation got worse in 2008. Statistics show that merely from January to October saw 566,000 tragedies happen with a higher death rate.

The above aching fact reminds us that it s high time we faced and solves this problem! Though our country owns only 2% of the world cars, it contributes amazingly 22% to the total accidents! Doubtlessly, our country ranks first as the most serious traffic accident rate.

China cannot afford millions of life losses, and we can not let the sorrow slow down our development speed. The government must play the most important role in solve the problem. Strict traffic rules should be made, and more importantly, practiced and followed. According to some other countries experience, high fine may also help. Slow down the speed of cars, as well as our country, there are always something worth your attention.
