Though her elder sister who was studying in another city, showed her willingness to take care of her, she was determined to be completely independent. At school, she always studied hard. Most of all she learned to be self-reliant. Once she wrote the following in her composition: "I am lucky. Though I lost my arms, I still have legs; I am lucky. Though my wings are broken, my heart can still fly."

One day, the boy and the girl were both invited to appear on a television interview program. The boy told the TV host about his uncertain future at being left on his own, whereas the girl was full of enthusiasm for her life. They both were asked to write something on a piece of paper with their toes. The boy wrote: My younger brothers arms are my arms;while the girl wrote: Broken wings, flying heart.

They had both endured the same ordeal, but their different attitudes determined the nature of their lives. It is true that life is unpredictable. Disasters can strike at any time. How you handle misfortune when confronted with it, is the true test of your character. If you choose only to complain and escape from the ordeal, it will always follow you wherever you go. Should students go on further study or find a job after leaving high school?

Time spent in campus is not always treated with gracious look, but some parents may choose other ways for the longevity of their childrens post-high-school period, namely, find the adolescents a job, rather than sending them to a college. I like to watch fictional movies and novels, because I am always attracted

by the unpredictable plots, which opens my vision. In the fiction movies, aliens

My teacher gave me an assignment "experience life" last week. I had been thinking how to finish it because I had never done any thing by myself before.

Mother was out today. It was a good chance to complete the assignment. Seeing the barrel was empty, I decided to fetch water from the well.

I took the empty barrel and went towards the well outside the yard. It snowed yesterday, so the alley was very slippery. A layer of thickice was frozen on the platform of the well. I was frightened by the sight, but I gathered my courage to walk towards it.

The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. I was very careful because it was easy to slip and fall. Then, I carried the barrel of water and returned to my house. My figners were frozen stiff. I realized my effort was in vain. I hated myself.

I failed to finish the assignment but I did experience life through a trifle which seemed easy but difficult to do well. Such was my first experience of life.

This morning，my bset friend XiaoLuo called me out for buffet dinner. I have

therestaurant excitedly.As a food junkie，to be honest，I was totally stunned by a

10 The National Day

"Oct,1 of every year is our National Day.Today is Oct 1st,2012 and is also our National Day.It is a important festival in Ｃhina.The Fｉve- Star Flag is flying high in the sky of the Tiananmen Square. And we can have a eight-- days holiday.During the holiday,people can go to some places of interest for visiting.

On the early morning of the 1st day, I had my breakfast quickly with my family, and then went shopping outside with my several friends.After lunch, I went to the park and played badminton with my younger brother.I had planed to travel to some places of interest but yoｕcan see so many people ， so many cars，and traffic jam everywhere , so I spent the holiday at home. I got together with my family to enjoy the moonlight, discussed some interesting topics,talked about the legends such as "ChangEr". Of course,I didnt forget to do my homework. the spring festival， chinese new year，is the most important festival for all of us. all family members get together on new year’eve to have a big meal.at the same time， everyone celebrates to each other.at about 12 o‘clock，some parents and children light crackers.the whole sky is lighted brightly. we may watch the fireworks excitedly.how busy it is！

on the first early moring of one year， many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed fu or hang some couplets on the front door. some house’s windows are sticked on red paper cutlings.

the chinese new year lasts fifteen days. so during the fifteen days， we always visit our relatives from door to door. at that time， children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents， uncles， aunts and so on. the last day of the chinese new year is another festival. it names the lantern festival.

so the chinese new year comes to the end.

端午节最不可少的，自然是粽子，每年端午节外婆和大家都会包上几百个大粽子呢!包粽子虽然有很多种，比如芦苇叶、竹笋叶、菰叶、藕叶等。但我们的家乡是芦苇比较多，所以大多都用芦苇叶包了。首先，外婆“率兵”去采芦苇叶。采芦苇叶时，一大家子听着外婆的劳动号子：“加油!一个粽子三片叶子!上百个粽子几千片，嘿哟，加油!”听了“将军”的鼓劲，“小兵”们更加卖力了!采完芦苇叶，现在只要将它们暴晒就行了。但准备材料可没有这么简单哟，还得去集市上买来上好的红豆、猪肉、花生、板粟、蜜枣与糯米，还要买红线呢!

当然，最好玩的时候还是包粽子的时候。包粽子时，男人负责把肉切成不大不小的块儿;女人负责洗红豆、糯米之类的;小孩负责把大盆洗干净，再把大人加工好的东西装在大盆里;而老人们则负责指挥。一切准备好之后，就开始包粽子了。大人们干得格外卖力，而小孩们呢?却在一旁玩着，总是在大人们不注意时，偷一两颗蜜枣往嘴里塞，表面上似乎一点儿事都没做，可心里却暗暗自喜——因为蜜枣太好吃了!

最后一步就是煮粽子，烧火的外公总是把火候把握的很好，味道很香、很浓，如果在第一时间内吃粽子，你看到的肉粽子总是嫩地流油，看到的蜜枣粽子总是金黄柔嫩;看到的八宝粽子总是很可口，我们可爱吃了。

去年，要不是为了去盐城替舅舅、舅妈照顾表哥，外公外婆可能在包粽子哩。我突然有些“厌恶”舅舅、舅妈，他们家的经济条件不错，为什么不找个保姆?把我的欢乐端午节和粽子都“夺走了”，我好生气呀!也好怀念那味香色美的粽子呀!
