打一开始，最夺人眼球的就是他了，言语爽朗、行事利落，俨然是现代职场女性的形象，可在封建礼教下竟成了“泼皮辣子户”。在处理秦氏葬礼时，凤姐可谓大出风头，条理清晰、决策果断、从容不迫，一人在宁、荣两头跑，他硬是抗了下来，只为不落人褒贬，可敬他的自尊好强、能吃苦，可笑她的奋斗动力竟是他人的评价。
