Dear Mr. Wang,

I am pleased to invite you to a luncheon, to be held by the Monterey Institute of International Studies on October 12, 2006 at noon, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the death of General Stilwell and in honor of his daughter, Mrs. Nancy Stilwell Easterbrook. With the improvement of our living standard， more and more people can afford a car。 As a result， our roads are more often than not crammed with cars。 However， with more and more waste gas being discharged by the cars， the problem of air pollution bees even more serious。 So nowadays we advocate to lead a low-carbon life。

My suggestion is we should ride bikes more often instead of driving cars。By riding a bike， we can not only exercise our body but also protect our environment。 Why not have a try， my dear friends?

我们的小区本来非常干净，可不知谁带头在草丛里扔垃圾……

有一天，我终于忍不住了，“哎，草地呀，是我们让你变的这么脏。”

今天是植树节！记得上次是在七里河种的树，这次就去达活泉吧！

第二天，我便身穿校服，在8点半左右，拿着水桶铁锹出发了。到了目的地以后，有不少人，可是我仔细一问，原来还有别的人也在组织植树！一会儿，老师来了，把我们带到了郭守敬纪念馆右边的一块空地，上面有大大小小、形状不一、已经挖好的坑。右边是我们的，左边是幼儿园小朋友的。可是坑不够，我便和高一博一起挖坑。我把铁锹插进土里，咦！怎么铲不动？原来我铲到根了。我就又换了一块地方，开始重新铲。我费了九牛二虎之力才铲了一点，于是，高一博的妈妈帮我铲了铲。哇！阿姨的力气可真大！我忍不住在心里感叹！坑终于挖好了，我就兴冲冲地准备种树了！我叫高一博和我一起，我扶着树，他填土，然后他累了，我俩就换一换。土填好了一层，然后用脚踩一踩，就再填一层。好了以后，我俩就去接水啦！我们是爬假山绕远过去的，因为我的水桶比高一博的要大的多，接满了水后，我比高一博慢了许多。终于到了小树边，我浇上了水，又绑上了自带的红布条。我就和高一博去玩了……

第二年春天，小燕子飞回来时，这一切都变了。工厂里排放大量的浓烟，就连太阳都被这层厚厚的烟雾遮住了，空气中还弥漫着一股难闻的臭味。小河变得脏兮兮的。远处的草丛全都枯黄了，已经没有了当初的碧绿。

Music is part of our life, nearly everybody will listen to the music, no

matter what nation they are from. Music is divided into many types, such as the

blues, the country music, the rock and roll. Once blues belonged to the black

people, but as time went by, music is accepted by all classes. People always

share the hottest songs together, just like they can communicate. Once in the

foreign country, I had dinner in a restaurant, where there had the singers.

People enjoyed the music when they were eating. At this moment, it was music

that brought people together, and they share the same emotion.
