香烟是危害人体健康的一位温柔的“杀手”，据媒体报道，吸烟的人容易得多种疾病，如肺炎、支气管炎、心血管疾病等等，吸一包香烟相当于减少1小时的生命。

我看过爸爸20多岁时的照片，那时的她白白胖胖，脸色红润。可不知什么时候起，爸爸每天都要吸一包烟。慢慢的，他的牙齿变黑了，手指变黄了，身上散发出一股难闻的烟味。我见了他，躲都来不及。我和妈妈几次劝爸爸戒烟，可他却说：“现在生活安定了，也该学着享受，再说，吸烟的男人有风度嘛！”虽说我们心里不高兴，但妈妈心软，最后还是由着她。

过了不久，我发现爸爸开始咳嗽，那声音越来越响了。先是轻轻的几声，然后是连续不断的咳嗽。有时咳得脸发红，连眼泪都流出来了。每天晚上，还没看见他回家，就可以听见他那刺耳的咳嗽声了，那声音听起来像七八十岁的老人一样苍老。爸爸实在熬不过，就只好求助医生。经过医生诊断，发现爸爸得了气管炎，这下，爸爸不得不下决心戒烟了。有时见爸爸实在忍不住了，我就把零食往他的嘴里塞，这个办法还真管用。

现在，爸爸长胖了，胃口开了，精神也饱满起来了。爸爸也主动把原来用来吸烟的钱补贴家用，有时也给我买学习用品、玩具，给妈妈购买衣服、营养品。现在，我的家里又充满了欢声笑语。

假如人类不顾后果地滥用化学品，那么自然资源不能再生;假如人类一味砍伐树木，就会导致今天的荒漠;假如人类不保护生物，生态平衡受到破坏。假如人类随意毁坏自然资源，就会造成一系列生态灾难……那可是一件多么可悲的事情啊?!

假如人们不保护环境：工厂里的污水大量排进地球的江河湖泊里，地球妈妈“贫血”了;人类不知疲倦地砍伐树木，不仅会造成水土流失，首都北京等周边的地方还会造成严重的沙尘暴，导致荒漠;矿物被无限制地滥采，破坏了耕地和水源;大气层中的臭氧层也由于人类的原因，出现无法弥补的大洞;许多生物物种频临灭绝，华南虎、丹顶鹤和扬子鳄等稀有动物在世界上已寥寥无几;假如人类继续这样下去，就会给人类生存带来了严重的威胁。若是，人类就会把地球几十亿年来的积蓄全部用光，加快人类的灭亡。

假如人们在报刊、书籍、网络、电视上都宣传保护环境，让所有人都意识到危害环境所造成的一系列生态灾难。工厂里的污水和废气都不排进江河湖泊和天空，妥善处理，并建立污水、废气站，污水再利用：浇花、冲洗厕所、擦地……那么江河湖泊的水会又黑又臭吗?不乱砍乱滥伐，都多举行植树活动，每位老师、父母都教导学生及小朋友有保护环境的意识，到处绿树成阴;不滥用化学品，尽量少用，使毁坏的资源再生;限制滥采矿物，使耕地和水源不受到破坏;只要从小养成保护动物的习惯，生物物种就不会灭绝。只要这样做，生活就变得更美好。

假如人类都保护动物、多植树、妥善地处理好工厂的污水、废气……世界就会鸟语花香、气候怡人、多姿多彩。生态灾难是由人类自已直接或间接制造的，所以我在此呼吁大家：我们一致行动起来，保护我们人类赖于生存的家园——地球!
