今天做完作业，我又来到花园里看望我的那些好朋友——花，却发现花儿的身边有很多垃圾。想到老师说的"保护环境是我们每一个人应尽的责任"，我立刻跑过去准备把垃圾都捡起来送进垃圾箱，这时，花园的另一边传来小朋友的喊声：彭林茜，快来玩!我不禁停住了脚步，心里像有两个小人在吵架，捡，怕小朋友看见后，说我是捡垃圾的。不捡，就让垃圾静静的躺在那儿?就因为这个问题，让我左右为难。捡还是不捡?问问爸爸妈妈再说吧!

爸爸妈妈正好也朝这边走来，爸爸说："那当然是环保重要，你要从身边的小事做起，不要乱扔垃圾。如果看到地上有垃圾，当然应该捡起来，这样你就为保护环境做了贡献。"妈妈也这么说。

爸爸妈妈的话给了我勇气。环保比面子更重要，他们要说我是捡垃圾的就让他们去说吧!我现在不在乎了。要是一人捡一次垃圾，更多的人就能捡更多的垃圾。那时候的地球一定比现在的地球更干净，更美丽。

我毫不犹豫地跑过去，把地下的垃圾全部送回了他们的家(垃圾箱)。这时，周围的人们向我投来赞许的目光。

Some people believe that economic development should never be at the cost of the environment.They think the present serious environmental problems are largely caused by rapid?economic development.For example,land resources are shrinking because of the industrial development and the expansion of cities.Deserts are spreading because of over grazing,poor fanning,tree cutting,and strip mining.Our air and water supplies are being polluted by poisonous gassesand waste products.It is important,therefore,that we should take another look at the way in which our industries and cities are developing.

However,other people think it unnecessary to consider environmental problems now and our first priority should always be given to economic development.They believe that environmental problems are inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development.They are only the by products of economic development,which can be dealt with later when we have the time and money.

I think the second idea is completelywrong.Our ultimate aim in economic development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people.What is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our environment?There has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development.

德国杜塞尔多夫的机器制造者林德曼发明了使废品能够重新利用的技术。新工艺的主要设备就是一部垃圾压力机，在这部机器里，通过高压和磨擦生热使垃圾的分子结构发生变化。经过机械和高温处理，垃圾中所含的较高的塑料成分(例如粉碎后的旧汽车部件)可以变成“煤饼”。这些作为回收物资的“煤饼”可以用于高炉或化铁炉，也可以用于垃圾焚烧设备或者存放起来，不污染环境。

压成“煤饼”的做法可以使过去的垃圾量减少到1/7，而且“煤饼”还可以继续被加工成颗粒或粉末。用这样的“煤饼”做成的“煤末”可以代替真正的煤末，热值同褐煤的热值不相上下。

操作方法：在双螺旋压力机里装填轻垃圾，这些垃圾是经过粉碎机处理、把金属回收后剩下来的。这些垃圾里包括橡胶、玻璃、养料、汽车座垫、泡沫塑料、门窗护板、污物等。在压力机里对这些起东西进行处理时，不仅仅是起到压制作用，而且这些东西还完全混合在一起。这样一来，这些东西便达到了相同的燃点。

据说在一个很远很远的一个小岛上，那里的树木茂盛，一年四季鸟语花香，土地肥沃;有一天了，来了20多个难民，男女老少都有。于是，他们便在这座小岛上安居乐业，每一天，男人们用肥沃的土地种庄家，妇女们则用自做的织布机织衣服和裤子，而孩子们却用水草和树的“胡须”作了一个网来捕鱼或虾。

有一天，来了一个富商，当他经过这座小岛时，被小岛的一棵棵摇钱树给迷住了，他登上了小岛，把小岛的居民都叫了出来，给他们每人都发了一把斧头，富商说：“村民们，我给你们每人一个发财的好机会，现在，一棵树100元，只要你们把砍得树交给我们，我们便把钱给你们，现在开始吧，只要你们愿意。”

话音刚落，村民们一窝蜂的跑进森林，树们看见了锋利的斧子，竟拔腿就跑，可他们怎也逃不出村民的手心啊，一年年一代代，森林的树渐渐被砍光了，就在这时森林之神从睡梦中醒来，它发现自己的孩子都被杀害了，一气之下，召唤出了三个恶魔，“海啸”、“龙卷风”、“雷雨”。

人们见了丢下斧头慌忙逃在。“海啸”了吞噬一半的土地，“雷雨”让人们变得更慌张，正当人们上船时“龙卷风”卷走了一切。人们绝望了，第二次，海啸上岸时，带走了一切包括那锋利的斧头。

是呀，如果没有贪婪这一条可恶的虫，人们会去伤害树木吗?不!不会，人们会去保护他，爱护她!
