在我国五六十年代，庄稼所用的肥料都是有机肥，用家畜的粪便或用河道里的於泥，腐烂的草，土地的特性得到保持，但在使用化肥农药后，产生了一系列的恶性循环，土地日益酸碱化，农作物也受此影响，而这种现象要大自然用几百年的时间才能减弱。另外，河道中的淤泥日益增多，破坏了生态环境，加上工业污水使鱼儿无法生存，前些年，太湖大面积的发生蓝藻，使无锡市民得不到饮用水，也是这方面的因素。

而工业的发展更加剧了破坏环境的进度，石油和煤炭的大量开采，大量的排放和尾气产生了地球温室效应，使得全球气候产生了变化，引发了许多的自然灾害，如此长久下去，人类迟早会毁灭在自己的手中。

幸好人们发现了这种变化，许多国家在发展工业的进程中也加强了保护环境的意识。德国是一个人造森林最多的国家，在破坏的同时绿化相同的面积，从而保持了总的生态环境。在我国，这种做法也在逐渐推广，运用科技力量，在发展中注重环保，但是只起到一部分的作用，同样，在太湖蓝藻事件中，许多的方法只起到了表面的作用，最后，放养了大量的鲢鱼去食用蓝藻，用生态平衡法则来解决根本问题。

近几年来，在我们农村，环保意识史无前例的加强了，建立了许多生态保护区，更多品种的生物回来了，在我家后面的河面上，多了一些不认识的水鸟，爷爷说四五十年没见到了，这让人感到欣慰。

所以，我们这一代人身上的使命更神圣了，责任更大了，我们要加强环保意识，提倡“低碳”生活，处处进行“节约”生活，从细节着手，保护好我们的家园，保护好大自然，保护好我们赖以生存的地球。

I have a lot of extracurricular activities: reading, playing computer, playing chess and so on. But my favorite thing is to play ping-pong. World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Another resolution, adopted by the General Assembly the same day, led to the creation of UNEP .

爱护环境，人人有责，保护环境不只能有一两个人保护环境，而是每一个人都要爱护，如果我们每一个人都爱护环境，那么我们可以想一想那时候的人们该有多幸福。随地吐痰不仅不文明，而且还容易把病毒传染给别人，因为痰中又很多病毒，他们随风飘动，一但别人吸了进去就会生病。

The campus environment is becoming more and more serious, the plastic bags are strewn all over the floor, the scraps of paper are flying, and there is a smell of smoke from time to time.
