此外，与主题同时公布的地球一小时全球宣传片，采用英国著名摇滚乐队巴士底(Bastille)歌曲——庞贝(Pompeii)作为背景音乐，展示了世界各地公众为应对气候变化所做的积极贡献。短片为观众呈现联合国秘书长潘基文、美国总统奥巴马、演员艾玛汤普森(Emma Thompson)、李冰冰、马克鲁法洛(Marc Ruffalo)等世界领袖和国际明星支持地球一小时的经典时刻，鼓励公众发挥自己的力量扭转气候变化。

人类的生存与发展离不开环境，然而，人类在谋求自身的生存与发展的同时，不断地将生态破坏和环境污染带给地球家园。随着人类改造自然的力量日渐强大，人类环境的破坏变得日益严重，人地关系矛盾加剧，现已危及人类自身的生存。

我们不能以牺牲环境为代价来换取一时的经济繁荣，不能徘徊在无知和狂妄之间对大自然苛求无休。我们既不是大自然的奴仆也不是大自然的主宰。

我们无法阻止前人浪费资源、破坏环境，就像后人也无法阻止我们去犯同样的错误。如果我们不能阻止当代人自毁家园的愚蠢行为，那么我们的子孙后代也无资源可用，无立足之地！

人类已经警醒，世界正在行动。珍惜自然资源、保护生态环境是我们义不容辞的责任。把青山留给大地，把洁净留给天空，把绿荫留给小鸟，把沃土留给子孙……让我们在与自然的和谐共处中，求得永续发展。

当我们陶醉于人类创造的现代文明，庆贺“征服”大自然伟大胜利的时候，各种有形、无形的环境污染正从四面八方悄悄袭来：工业“三废”污染、化肥和农药污染、生活垃圾污染、恼人的噪声污染、眩目的光污染、“无形杀手”电磁波污染……毒害着我们健康的肌体，破坏着我们美好的家园。

仰望星空，茫茫宇宙，目前地球是人类唯一的家园。放眼全球，人口爆炸、森林锐减、水源污染、土地退化……

我们难以恢复地球往日的洁净。然而，重新营造一个美好的生存世界又是何等艰难。

20世纪70年代以前，对于环境问题采取的主要措施是限制污染物排放和治理污染源。然而在实践中，人们逐步认识到环境问题并不是单纯的污染问题，仅仅采取工程技术措施不能从根本上解决环境治理问题。

保护环境是全人类的共同任务，没有国际间的广泛合作，没有各国政府制定的法律、法规，没有广大公众的积极参与，就不能从根本上治理环境污染和生态恶化。向环境污染宣战，做坚定的环保卫士，是我们每个人责无旁贷的使命。
