First, I found it difficult to understand what I read because most English words have more than one meaning. Besides, I found it difficult to write in idiomatic English or put Chinese into idiomatic English. Second, I enlarge my vocabulary by learning the dictionary by heart. To overcome Chinese English, I tried to think in English directly. 夏过了，秋继来。看惯了绿叶的我们，到秋天看到那满树的绿叶变红变黄，便总会情不自禁地赞叹大自然的神奇。走在路上，时不时有阵阵丹桂香飘来，沁人心脾，让行走的人们忘了前进的步伐，不由得会停下脚步深吸一口，那馋样恨不得把这香味揣在兜里带走。无风的日子，树上的枯叶总会偶尔一叶两叶的慢慢飘落下来，他们总是牺牲自己充当季节预报的使者，让人们知道“一叶知秋”的到来。鸟儿在枝头叽叽喳喳，为这秋天的丰收庆祝歌唱。蓝天下，一排排大雁排着整齐的队伍向南飞去，提醒着人们，秋天到了，冬天已不远了。

冬：生命结尾

秋过了，冬继来。河面上依稀小鱼在薄冰下游来游去。待到寒冬，一场大雪不期而至，到处一片白茫茫的世界。小草、小树仿佛承受不了雪的重量，都被压得弯了腰。但那一颗颗松树，却依然傲然挺立，真是“大雪压青松，青松挺且直。要知松高洁，待到雪化时”。孩子们打雪仗的声音时不时地传来，让坐在家里的人们不禁也想出去参与他们。

冬天，一个轮回的结束！

周而复始，四季是一个轮回。一次又一次轮回，正装点着这美丽的世界。

In China, there are four seasons in a year, spring, summer, autumn and

winter. Summer is hot and winter is cold. Spring and autumn are comfortable.

Spring lasts from March to May. Summers goes from June to August. From September

to November is autumn. At last is winter, from December to February. Among the

four seasons in a year, I like winter most.

今年四月到六月，我参加了20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛。这可是全国性的比赛哦！必须要闯过海选、市赛和省赛三关，才能去北京参加中央电视台的总决赛。

参加市赛的早上，我和妈妈坐车到了目的地。当时，太阳特别大，天特别热，而且人山人海。我们到了之后赶紧报到，接着就排队去比赛了。因为我是最后一个，等了好久才轮到我，裁判先让我抽图，准备看图说话，再自我介绍。我觉得自己前两个环节表现得挺好的，最后是回答问题，这个环节有点难，四个题中我只答出两个。紧接着裁判宣布结果，我心想：肯定有我！肯定有我！结果，真的有我！我拿了市赛一等奖，进入了省赛。

省赛的准备过程是非常艰难的，又是背台词，又是准备自我介绍，还有模拟考试。仅仅是看图说话环节，一训练就是一上午……

终于迎来了省赛。我怀着紧张的心情走进赛场，里面很安静，选手们都在努力地背词，我也不甘示弱。自我介绍环节，我们都做得非常好，看图说话环节就比较惨了，得知成绩后，我的心情非常低落，爸爸妈妈安慰我，要我别泄气，要我在下午最后一个环节加油，还特意给我复习了几遍演讲内容，我的心情又明朗起来。下午的比赛开始了，轮到我上场了，我站在台上，信心十足地完成了演讲，最后的分数还不错哦！

我的20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛结束了，虽然我没有踏上国赛舞台，但是我虽败犹荣！这个过程中，我见识到了那些高手们的厉害！我一定要好好学习英语！我一定会回来的！明年再战！
